Say their names and ask the pupils to repeat them after me Then practise by showing a room and asking the pupils to tell me the name.Choose a picture and point to something in the picture the pupils know, e. g. a tree, a well-known room and say There’s a/an …Show the picture to individual pupils and ask them to point to the object and repeat the sentence. Pupils felt shy to show their own pictures and talk about their pictures in front of the blackboard before I praised their works. It seems that more encouragement should be given in class.Pupils should be told when to use they’re/ it’s. And more drills and exercise is needed.

Ask each pupil to put their pencil under a book so that it can’t be seen. When you have given out seven pencils, ask the other pupils to tell you who has each color by saying, e.g. ( Name )has the purple pencil.
