第一节(共10小题;每小题2.5分,满分25分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
I
played
on
the
high
school
basketball
team.
I
played
the
ball
before
the
game
started,
and
then
sat
on
the
bench
(长凳)
cheering
for
guys
who
were
actually
going
to
play
in
the
game.
When
we
won,
I
hugged
(拥抱)
my
teammates.
I
enjoyed
that.
But
I
didn’t
know
how
my
dad
felt
about
my
role.
I
imagined
it
was
hard
for
him.
Dad
was
a
gifted
athlete.
And
my
older
brothers
were
sports
stars
at
college.
I
was
not
sure
how
he
felt
about
going
to
games
to
watch
his
son
SIT.
Still,
Dad
was
always
there
in
his
suit
and
tie.
After
the
game,
he’d
come
up
to
me,
smile,
shake
my
hand
and
say
“Good
game!”,
even
though
I
did
nothing
to
make
the
game
good.
It
changed
until
the
last
game
of
the
season.
It
was
a
great
day
for
our
team
—
we
were
up
by
about
20
with
two
minutes
left.
The
coach
suddenly
looked
towards
me
and
said,
“Walker!
You’re
in!”
The
next
two
minutes
seemed
not
real
to
me.
I
remember
running
up
and
down
the
field
a
few
times.
When
someone
started
counting
down
the
last
seconds,
my
teammate
passed
the
ball
to
me.
I
heard
guys
on
the
bench
shouting
“Shoot
(投篮)!”
as
I
faced
the
basket
and
shot.
We
won.
But
then
I
didn’t
know
what
to
do.
I
was
unprepared
for
a
time
when
I
had
hit
a
lastsecond
shot.
Naturally,
I
looked
for
Dad.
He
was
there,
smiling
at
me
as
he
always
did.
Whether
good
times
or
bad,
Dad
was
always
there
to
smile,
to
support
and
to
love.
Now
I’m
in
my
50s
with
a
teenage
basketball
player
in
my
family.
I
keep
trying
to
be
there,
no
matter
what,
because
I
know
what
it
can
mean.

Al
Larson,
also
known
as
“The
Bluebird
Man”,
first
began
his
labor
of
love
after
he
read
an
article
that
described
how
building
birdhouses
could
help
to
control
their
falling
populations.
After
seeing
a
bluebird
going
in
and
out
of
a
dead
tree
in
his
yard,
Larson
became
inspired
to
start
setting
up
little
boxes
that
could
serve
as
nests
(鸟窝)
for
bluebirds.
What
started
as
a
hobby
in
his
retirement
turned
into
a
full-time
effort
—
and
after
almost
forty
years
of
devotion,
he
has
recorded
over
30,000
bluebirds,
thanks
to
the
350
birdhouses
that
he
has
built
across
southwest
Idaho.
He
often
travels
over
5,000
miles
to
check
on
all
of
his
boxes
during
the
summer
nesting
season.
Since
bluebirds
live
in
dead
or
nearly-dead
trees,
their
population
began
to
drop
after
the
invention
of
the
electric
chainsaw
(链锯)
in
the
early
1900s,
which
made
it
easier
for
homeowners
to
remove
their
dead
trees.
In
addition
to
having
their
habitats
destroyed,
the
use
of
pesticides
(杀虫剂)
caused
an
uncertain
future
for
the
bluebirds
of
Idaho.
But
the
efforts
of
Larson
have
shown
us
that
if
we
take
a
moment
to
understand
the
needs
of
a
species,
we’ll
find
a
way
to
deal
with
the
problem.
Though
he
is
nearing
the
age
of
97,
Larson
shows
no
signs
of
slowing
down.
Also,
his
inspiring
story
has
been
turned
into
a
documentary
Bluebird
Man.
“Al
is
a
living
example
of
how
much
one
person
can
achieve
when
they
set
their
mind
on
a
task.
But
he’s
also
an
example
of
the
benefits
that
a
project
like
this
can
have
for
people,”
filmmaker
Matthew
Podolsky
said.
“Bluebirds
have
given
meaning
to
Al’s
life,
and
they
are
truly
the
secret
to
his
long
life.”
24.
Why
is
Al
famous
as
“The
Bluebird
Man”?
A.
He
likes
observing
bluebirds.
B.
He
often
feeds
food
to
bluebirds.
C.
He
set
up
many
boxes
for
bluebirds.
D.
He
made
the
documentary
Bluebird
Man.
25.
Where
do
bluebirds
usually
make
their
nests?
A.
In
dead
trees.
B.
In
Al’s
house.
C.
In
gardens.
D.
In
boxes.
26.
Which
saying
can
best
describe
Al’s
story?
A.
Never
put
off
till
tomorrow
what
you
can
do
today.
B.
The
roses
in
her
hand,
the
flavor
in
mine.
C.
One
is
never
too
old
to
learn.

Professor
Paul
Hughes
says
the
way
we
talk
to
ourselves
and
about
ourselves
to
other
people
can
affect
our
life
in
many
ways,
from
our
career
to
our
family
life.
He
saw
this
firsthand
while
teaching
at
a
community
college.
He
noticed
that
some
students
who
studied
hard
and
came
to
class
every
day
still
did
poorly
in
exams.
They
are
filled
with
angst
about
taking
a
test.
Hughes
used
one
of
his
students
as
an
example.
Lindsay
was
a
good
student.
She
came
to
class
early,
took
part
in
discussions
and
did
all
of
her
homework.
However,
she
did
poorly
in
exams.
When
Hughes
asked
her
how
she
felt
before
a
test,
she
told
him
she
was
very
nervous.
She
wondered
why
she
had
trouble
remembering
what
she
had
learned.
She
said
she
did
not
trust
that
she
knew
the
right
answers.
Hughes
took
Lindsay’s
negative
statements
and
turned
them
into
positive
questions.
Before
a
test,
he
told
Lindsay
to
say
to
herself:
Why
am
I
so
relaxed
when
I
take
an
exam?
Why
am
I
so
focused
during
my
exam?
Why
do
I
remember
everything
I
study
for
an
exam?
Why
do
I
trust
my
answers?
Lindsay
took
his
advice.
Two
weeks
later,
she
took
an
exam
and
scored
15
points
higher
than
she
had
in
an
earlier
exam.
Four
weeks
later,
she
got
a
“B”
in
the
final
exam.
After
Lindsay
left
the
community
college
and
went
to
a
four-year
university,
she
continued
to
use
the
method
of
positive
self-talk.
She
got
straight
A’s
in
all
of
her
exams.
Hughes
saw
student
after
student
succeed
with
his
method.
They
got
more
than
just
good
test
scores.
They
got
their
selfconfidence
back.
Hughes
does
not
just
help
his
students.
He
also
uses
his
positive
self-talk
method
to
help
his
friends
and
neighbors.
In
a
television
interview,
he
summed
it
up
this
way,
“We
can
program
ourselves
for
failure
in
class
or
in
life,
but
we
can
also
program
ourselves
for
success.”
27.
What
does
the
underlined
word
“angst”
in
Paragraph
1
probably
mean?
A.
Tiredness.
B.
Concern.
C.
Dislike.
D.
Dissatisfaction.
28.
What
did
Hughes
advise
Lindsay
to
do
before
exams?
A.
Review
her
lessons
carefully.
B.
Join
in
more
group
discussions.
C.
Encourage
herself
by
thinking
positively.
D.
Write
her
thoughts
down
to
remove
stress.
29.
What
can
we
learn
about
Hughes’
self-talk
method?
A.
It
helps
students
get
smarter
during
the
exam.
B.
It
can’t
lead
to
success
until
used
for
a
long
period.
C.
It
is
designed
for
students
who
do
poorly
in
school.
D.
It
can
help
increase
students’
scores
and
confidence.
30.
Which
of
the
following
best
describes
Hughes’
idea?
A.
Thoughts
influence
actions.
B.
Sometimes
hard
work
doesn’t
work.
C.
It’s
easy
to
improve
self-confidence.
D.
All

they
are

第二节
(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
A
heart-to-heart
talk
refers
to
an
honest
conversation
between
two
people.
When
sharing
a
heart-to-heart
talk,
people
will
generally
share
innermost
(内心最深处的)
thoughts
and
feelings.
This
talk
usually
takes
place
without
other
people
being
present.
31
Some
people
also
refer
to
this
type
of
conversation
as
a
heartfelt
talk,
or
speaking
from
the
heart.
Here
are
tips
on
having
a
heartto-heart
talk.
Share
personal
stories.
32
When
you
share
a
personal
story
with
someone,
you
put
yourself
out
there
in
a
brave
way.
Hopefully,
the
person
will
follow
suit
and
be
receptive
to
your
sharing.
Make
sure
that
your
disclosure
(披露)
is
proper
for
the
level
of
relationship
you
have
with
the
other
person.
And
remember
not
to
push
yourself
too
hard.
33
Listen
to
understand.
Being
an
active
listener
is
important
during
a
heartto-heart
talk.
When
you
actively
listen
to
what
another
person
is
saying,
he
is
more
likely
to
open
up.
34
Instead,
try
to
listen
to
really
understand
what
the
other
is
trying
to
communicate.
35
When
you’re
trying
to
get
someone
to
open
up
and
go
deeper
in
conversation
with
you,
you
are
expected
to
avoid
questions
that
close
off
the
discussion.
For
example,
you
might
immediately
start
trying
to
learn
the
person’s
likes
and
dislikes
by
asking
“What’s
your
favorite
color/food/season?”
The
problem
with
such
a
question
is
that
it
doesn’t
promote
(促进)
a
more
detailed
answer
because
it
can
be
answered
with
only
one
word
(e.g.
“Purple.
Pizza.
Summer.”).
A.
Raise
questions
actively.
B.
Avoid
close-ended
questions.
C.
Many
times,
you
may
listen
to
prepare
an
answer.
D.
So
it’s
considered
that
the
talk
will
be
kept
secret.
E.
You
should
share
what
you
feel
comfortable
sharing.
F.
Self-disclosure
opens
the
door
to
a
deep
conversation.
G.
People
find
comfort
in
expressing
unhappiness
with
others.

Arizona.
I
didn’t
like
to
carry
all
my
keys
in
my
pocket
during
a
hike,
so
I
took
away
the
key
to
the
car
and
left
the
rest
in
the
car.
When
we
came
back,
I
put
the
key
somewhere
in
the
car
without
reattaching
it
to
the
key
ring.
Then
we
made
a
fire,
cooked
some
food,
and
went
to
sleep
in
the
back
of
the
SUV.
The
next
morning,
we
were
cleaning
up
our
campsite
when
I
saw
a
bird
inside
my
car.
I
walked
over,
and
it
flew
away.
When
we
got
in
the
car
to
go
home,
I
couldn’t
find
the
key.
We
searched
and
searched
even
emptying
out
the
car
completely,
but
it
was
gone.
Then
it
hit
me
that
the
bird
must
have
taken
it.
After
all,
those
birds
are
known
for
stealing
shiny
(闪亮的)
things
and
decorating
their
nests
(巢)
with
them.
Keys
are
shiny.
The
bird
was
the
thief
(贼)!
It
made
perfect
sense
to
me.
So
I
decided
to
find
its
nest.
But
there
is
a
problem:
As
everyone
knows,
the
Grand
Canyon
is
a
little
large
in
area,
so
I
didn’t
like
my
chances
of
actually
finding
a
certain
nest
belonging
to
a
certain
bird
in
a
certain
tree
in
all
that
space.
But
what
other
choice
did
I
have?
My
wife
was
not
encouraging
me.
She
said,
“Are
you
crazy?
You’ll
never
find
it!
The
Grand
Canyon
is
the
biggest
hole
on
Earth!”
I
didn’t
answer
and
walked
steadily
forward
until
her
laughter
died
away.
I
tried
to
keep
hope
as
I
searched
dozens
of
trees
and
tracked
every
singing
bird.
It
was
like
searching
a
needle
in
the
sea.
But,
oh,
how
great
my
victory
would
be
when
I
held
the
missing
key
from
the
bird’s
nest.

Dear

The

However,

—
environmental
pollution.
Therefore,
It’s
our

to
protect
it.
First
of
all,
we
must
reduce
environmental
pollution,
or
the
earth
will
be

on.
Secondly,
we
must
save

In

Then
I
found
my

relaxing

drinking
a

She
was
really
smart.
The
next
challenge
was
to
get
a

key.
Luckily,
another

came
through
the

so
I
asked
them
to
send
out
a

They

they
would.
Five

the

up

The

we

I
pulled
out
the
cup
holder
and
the
missing
key
was
sitting
right
there.
Imagine
my
embarrassment.
It
was
the
only
place
we
didn’t
look.
And
guess
who
put
it
there?
My
wife!
We
actually
both
made
mistakes
because
I
had
pushed
the
cup
holder
back
without
noticing
the
key.
I
got
out
of
the
car,
looked
up
at
the

and
said,
“Bird,
I
was
wrong
about
you.
I’m
sorry.”
