Angry Birds is not all about slingshot!(2)
Angry Birds has been downloaded more than a billion times, and its parent company (母公司) Rovio is now worth $5.6 billion, just two years after the game first came out.
Peter Vesterbacka, marketing chief of the game, said that Rovio sees itself as an entertainment brand (娱乐品牌), not just a game company.
“We want to make Angry Birds a part of pop culture,” he said. Comparing with the brand to Nintendo’s Mario (任天堂的马里奥) and Sanrio’s Hello Kitty (三丽鸥的凯蒂猫), (C) we’re just getting started.”

Book cafe ——new place for reading
Where do urban Chinese read ? A recent survey found that book cafe were becoming a new place for urban Chinese to enjoy reading.
The survey, covering 2,160 people, showed that 86 percent of the respondents(被访者) preferred reading on the Internet; 61 percent preferred bookstores; 54 percent chose libraries; and 22 percent chose book cafes.
In recent years, book cafes, with books, magazines, food and drinks,and usually Internet access, have started to open in China’s most cities , such as Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing.
On the question of “ why you love to read in book cafe,” 77 percent of people said they “love its cozy(惬意的) environment,” 52 percent said they “love to read together with friends,” and 51 percent gave the reason as “ books are updated more regularly in book cafes.”
Why have book cafes become popular in Chinese cities? A respondent’s answer might give us a clue. “ It takes me one hour to get to the nearest library, and I always feel uncomfortable if I only read but don’t buy books in a bookstore. But I feel really comfortable to read in a book cafe,” she said.
