Norma
Burns
has
been
running
her
organic
farm
for
the
last
18
years,
but
she’s
now
looking
to
turn
over
a
new
leaf,
so
she’s
giving
the
farm
away
to
whoever
wins
her
essay
contest(作文竞赛).?
The
Bluebird
Hill
Farm
has
been
everything
to
Norma
during
the
last
18
years,
but
running
it
takes
a
lot
of
work,
and
after
Norma’s
husband
died
in
2005,
she’s
been
having
a
tough
time
taking
care
of
everything
alone.
She
has
decided
to
go
back
to
the
city,
but
she
hopes
to
leave
her
beloved
farm
in
good
hands.
Although
it’s
been
valued
at
around
$450,000,
she
doesn’t
want
to
sell
her
farm.
She
wants
to
give
it
away
to
a
couple
who
can
best
explain
why
they
would
be
her
best
choice
in
a
200-word
essay.
“To
me,
there’s
no
better
thing
in
life
than
raising
organic
food,”
Norma
said.
“I’m
looking
for
a
couple
who
have
experience
and
training
in
organic
farming
and
are
willing
and
able
to
put
in
the
long
days
and
hard
work
that
farming
requires.
The
only
thing
they
don’t
have
is
an
actual
farm.”
The
“A
Gift
of
Good
Land”
essay
contest
gives
farmers
the
chance
to
live
the
life
they’ve
always
dreamed
of.
Apart
from
the
$300
entry
fee,
there
are
a
few
important
conditions.
First
of
all,
applicants
must
have
the
experience
and
training
required
to
operate
an
organic
farm.
Secondly,
the
contest
mentions
“couples”
for
the
reason
that
the
farm
can’t
be
operated
successfully
by
a
single
person.
Ever
since
Norma
made
public
the
news
of
her
essay
contest,
her
phone
hasn’t
stopped
ringing.
“It
just
kind
of
exploded,”
she
said.
If
you’ve
always
wanted
to
be
an
organic
farmer
but
couldn’t
afford
a
farm,
this
is
your
chance.
Head
over
to
the
Bluebird
Hill
Farm
website,
and
sign
up
for
the
contest.
Norma
would
pick
the
winning
couple
at
last.
4.

does
the
underlined
part
“turn
over
a
new
leaf”
in
paragraph
1
mean?

Live
a
new
life.
B.
Depend
on
others.
C.
Help
those
in
need.

It
requires
more
work
than
she
can
handle.
解析:细节理解题。由第二段中“...
but
running
it
takes
a
lot
of
work,
and
after
Norma’s
husband
died
in
2005,she’s
been

a
tough
time
taking
care
of
everything
alone.”可知,自从丈夫去世后,Norma一个人无法管理这么大的一个农场,这是她决定把农场赠送给别人的原因。
答案:D
6.

答案:C
C
The
fact
that
trees
are
vital
to
our
life
is
not
a
secret.
Trees
provide
us
with
food,
wood
and
most
importantly,
oxygen.
Now
there
is
one
more
thing
we
can
add
to
this
list—blocking
out
harmful
bacteria
from
water.
The
discovery
was
made
by
a
team
consisting
of
scientists
from
the
Massachusetts
Institute
of
Technology
(MIT)
and
high
school
students
who
were
seeking
a
natural
water
filter(过滤器)—one
that
would
help
communities
in
developing
countries
that
do
not
have
access
to
modern
water
filter
systems.
The
researchers,
led
by
Professor
Rohit
Karnik,
decided
to
turn
to
trees
for
help
because
they
could
allow
liquid
to
flow
through,
while
blocking
out
air
bubbles.
They
began
by
cutting
1.5-inch-wide
sections
of
tree
bark
from
the
branches
of
a
white
pine
tree.
The
researchers
then
tested
the
wood’s
filtering
ability
by
pouring
water
containing
red
dye
particles
of
different
sizes
through.
To
their
surprise,
they
found
that
it
was
effective
in
trapping
all
the
particles.
Encouraged,
the
team
conducted
another
experiment,
this
time
with
water
that
contained
bacteria.
Sure
enough,
the
sapwood
held
back
99%
of
the
bacteria,
allowing
only
1%
to
flow
through.
Mr.
Karnik
said
that
the
bark
was
able
to
filter
water
containing
much
smaller
particles.
This
means
that
it
can
be
used
to
get
rid
of
a
majority
of
bacteria,
since
most
are
at
least
10
times
as
wide.
However,
what
troubles
them
is
that
tree
bark
isn’t
blocking
out
viruses,
which
tend
to
be
much
smaller.
Also,
while
the
pine
sapwood
is
effective,
we
must
remember
one
thing—it
only
works
when
it
is
damp.
This
means
that
before
this
natural
filter
can
be
put
into
practical
use,
the
researchers
will
have
to
figure
out
how
to
keep
the
wood
damp,
or
find
a
way
to
keep
the
bark’s
great
filtering
ability
even
when
it’s
dry!
But
the
team
is
not
done
yet.
They
plan
on
testing
other
types
of
sapwood,
including
those
from
flowering
trees
which
have
smaller
pores(气孔).
They
think
that
these
may
be
more
effective
in
trapping
smaller
particles
and
even
viruses.
8.
What
problem
troubles
the
researchers
when
they
use
tree
bark
as
water
filters?
A.
Viruses
cannot
be
blocked
out.
B.
Not
all
bacteria
will
be
held
back.
C.
Viruses
don’t
make
air
bubbles.
D.
Tree
bark
needs
to
be
kept
in
water.
解析:细节理解题。由第五段末的“However,
what
troubles
them
is
that
tree
bark
isn’t
blocking
out
viruses,
which
tend
to
be
much
smaller.”可知,让研究人员感到困扰的是树皮无法挡住病毒,因为病毒要比细菌小得多。故选A。
答案:A
9.
We
can

from
the
passage
that
tree
bark
can
filter
water
when
it
.?
A.
is
damp
B.
is
dry
C.
has
been
cut
down
D.
is
processed
by
researchers
解析:细节理解题。由倒数第二段中的“...
it
only
works
when
it
is
damp.”和“the
researchers
will
have
to
figure
out
how
to
keep
the
wood
damp”可知,树皮只有在潮湿的时候才有过滤作用。故选A。
答案:A
10.
The
team
is
planning

trees
have
the
smallest
pores
C.
improve
trees’
filtering
ability
D.
test
other
wood
bark’s
filtering
ability
解析:推理判断题。由最后一段的内容可知,研究者们打算用其他种类的边材进行测试,目的是测试其他种类树皮的过滤能力。故选D。
答案:D
11.
In

of
a
newspaper
can
we
read
this
passage?
A.
Nature.
B.
Science.
C.
Lifestyle.

The
process
of
making
milk
chocolate
removes
most
of
the
antioxidants(抗氧化剂)
in
dark
chocolate.
Antioxidants
don’t
taste
good
but
are
very
healthy.
Lisa
Dean,
a
food
scientist,
and
her
team
now
report
having
found
a
way
to
top
up
the
antioxidants
in
milk
chocolate.
They
made
it
by
adding
a
surprising
thing.
Even
better
news:
The
process
doesn’t
change
the
sweet
taste
of
milk
chocolate.
Most
peanuts
in
the
United
States
go
to
make
peanut
butter.
Their
skins,
about
100
million
pounds,
end
up
being
buried
as
wastes
underground
every
year
in
the
US.
Dean
recalls,
“We
thought,
what
can
we
do
with
this
food
waste?”
She
and
her
team
decided
to
extract(提取)
antioxidants
from
the
peanut
skins.
Then,
to
cover
the
bitter
taste
of
the
antioxidant,
they
mixed
the
peanut-skin
extracts
with
maltodextrin(麦芽糖糊精),
which
is
made
from
food
like
potatoes
and
rice.
Next,
the
team
added
the
mixture
to
milk
chocolate.
This
gave
the
chocolate
antioxidant
the
levels
typical
of
dark
chocolate.
Best
of
all,
there
was
no
change
in
the
candy’s
taste.
Just
to
be
sure,
the
team
asked
100
volunteers
to
taste
three
pieces
of
milk
chocolate.
Only
one
piece
in
the
three
had
the
peanut-skin
extract
and
maltodextrin.
Eight
in
every
ten
volunteers
tasted
no
difference
between
the
regular
milk
chocolate
and
the
improved
one.
The
other
20
percent
picked
up
on
some
bitterness.
These
volunteers
are
what
scientists
call
supertasters,
who
have
an
unusually
strong
sense
of
taste.
Dean
says
only
about
20
percent
of
all
people
are
supertasters.
Some
candy
makers
are
experimenting
to
add
antioxidants
to
their
milk
chocolate.
But
Dean
says
she
hasn’t
heard
of
any
who
have
used
peanut
skins.
She
also
warns
that
milk
chocolate
having
peanut
skins
would
need
clear
labels
so
that
people
with
peanut
allergies
can
avoid
it.
12.
Why
did
the
scientists
decide
to
add
antioxidants
to
milk
chocolate
at
first?
A.
To
reduce
food
waste.
B.
To
make
use
of
peanut
butter.
C.
To
change
the
taste
of
milk
chocolate.
D.
To
make
milk
chocolate
healthier
than
dark
chocolate.
解析:细节理解题。根据第二段中的“Their
skins,
about
100
million
pounds,
end
up
being
buried
as
wastes
underground
every
year
in
the
US.
Dean
recalls,
‘We
thought,
what
can
we
do
with
this
food
waste?’”可知,食品科学家最开始是为了减少食物浪费而尝试把花生皮中的抗氧化剂加入到牛奶巧克力中的。
答案:A
13.
What
can
be
known
about
maltodextrin?
A.
It
is
easy
to
extract.
B.
It
is
often
added
to
potatoes.
C.
It
can
improve
the
taste
of
food.
D.
It
can
be
widely
found
in
chocolate.
解析:推理判断题。根据第二段中的“Then,
to
cover
the
bitter
taste
of
the
antioxidant
...”可知,科学家为了掩盖抗氧化剂的苦味而在牛奶巧克力中加入麦芽糖糊精。由此可以推知,麦芽糖糊精可以改善食物的味道。
答案:C
14.
What
can
we
learn
from
the
experiment?
A.
Few
people
will
know
the
milk
chocolate’s
taste
has
changed.
B.
Scientists
should
work
harder
to
improve
milk
chocolate’s
taste.
C.
Supertasters
will
get
sick
by
eating
the
improved
milk
chocolate.
D.
Many
people
don’t
believe
the
improved
milk
chocolate
is
healthier.
解析:推理判断题。根据第三段最后一句“Dean
says
only
about
20
percent
of
all
people
are
supertasters.”可知,只有20%的人是超级味觉者,所以只有一少部分人会觉察到添加了抗氧化剂的牛奶巧克力味道发生了改变。
答案:A
15.
What
is
the
main
idea
of
the
text?
A.
Peanut
skins
have
proved
to
be
healthy
food.
B.
Scientists
find
maltodextrin
makes
food
taste
sweet.
C.
Antioxidants
and
maltodextrin
are
important
in
making
food.
D.
Scientists
make
milk
chocolate
healthier
while
re-ducing
food
waste.
解析:主旨大意题。通读文章可知,美国平均每年会浪费掉很多花生皮。食品科学家通过提取花生皮中的抗氧化剂并加入到牛奶巧克力中,这不仅减少了食品浪费,还增加了牛奶巧克力的营养价值。
答案:D
第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
根据下面短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
So,
you
want
to
become
a
farmer,
but
you’ve
never
grown
a
crop
or
raised
livestock(家畜)?
Here’s
how
to
break
into
agriculture
for
the
person
without
farming
experience.
16
It’s
hard
work.
If
you’ve
never
farmed
a
day
in
your
life,
be
ready
to
answer
the
question
“Why
do
you
want
to
farm?”
with
confidence.?
Find
farms
that
you
like.
There
might
be
some
in
your
area;
there
might
not.
Ask
around.
Search
the
Web,
and
find
out
about
county
fairs
and
visit
them.
17
Talk
to
them.
Ask
them
what
they
do,
how
their
farms
have
changed
over
time,
what
direction
they
think
the
field
is
going
in,
and
if
you
could
stop
by
and
visit
their
farm
some
time.
Farmers
are
generally
friendly
and
welcome
people,
though
some
are
more
guarded
than
others.?
Dress
the
part.
18
But
if
you
walk
into
a
law
firm
interview
dressed
in
a
pair
of
jeans,
it’s
the
same
as
walking
onto
a
farm
wearing
a
long
dress.
If
you’re
just
starting
out
in
farming,
you’re
probably
going
to
be
doing
a
lot
of
physical
labour.
Wear
a
clean
T-shirt,
jeans,
and
work
boots.
Buy
a
good
pair
of
work
gloves
because
your
hands
will
be
sore
and
full
of
blisters
in
a
very
short
time.
19
Because
the
long
hair
will
get
caught
in
something.?
Farmers
of
today
are
businessmen
because
they
have
to
be
able
to
survive.
20
If
you
want
to
make
it
past
the
farm
labour
stage
you
must

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
A
painter
living
by
painting
portraits(肖像)
was
leading
a
poor
life.
One
day,
a
woman
came
by.
She
liked
the
paintings
very
much
and
asked
the
painter
to
draw
a
portrait
for
her.
They
agreed
on
2,000
dollars.
Before
painting
the
portrait,
the
woman
asked
the
painter
to
draw
more
jewels.
The
painter
curiously
asked
why,
but
the
woman
refused
to
explain.
After
a
week,
the
portrait
was
done
and
the
woman
came
to
take
the
painting.
At
this
moment,
she
hit
on
an
evil
idea
of
bullying
the
unknown
young
artist.
She
thought,
“The
portrait
is
me.
If
I
don’t
buy
the
painting,
nobody
will
buy
it.
Why
should
I
pay
so
much
money?”
So
the
woman
said
to
the
young
painter,
“I
will
only
pay
200
dollars
for
it.”
The
young
man
was
surprised,
for
he
had
never
come
across
such
an
experience.
He
strongly
argued
with
her,
expecting
this
woman
to
keep
to
the
agreement.
“I
can
only
pay
200
dollars
to
buy
the
painting,”
the
woman
thought
she
could
win
for
sure.
The
young
painter
knew
the
woman
broke
her
promise
on
purpose,
so
he
felt
annoyed.
He
said
in
a
firm
voice,
“No,
I
would
prefer
to
keep
this
painting
rather
than
be
humiliated(羞辱)
by
you.
Today
you
break
your
word
and
some
day
you
must
pay
20
times
for
it.”
“What
a
joke!
20
times
will
be
40,000!
I
won’t
be
stupid
to
pay
40,000
dollars
to
buy
the
painting!”
“Well,
we’d
better
wait
and
see,”
the
young
artist
shouted
to
the
woman
who
left
angrily.
After
the
stimulation(刺激)
of
such
an
incident,
the
painter
moved
out
of
this
sad
place,
studied
under
acknowledged
teachers
and
worked
hard
day
and
night.
More
than
a
dozen
years
later,
he
finally
started
a
new
way
and
became
popular
in
the
circle
of
art.
However,
the
woman
had
forgotten
the
artist’s
painting
and
words
the
next
day.

(1)所续写短文的词数应为150左右;

答案:
Paragraph
1:
One
day,
that
famous
painter
decided
to
hold
an
art
exhibition
at
the
very
place.
Present
in
the
exhibition
hall
were
crowds
of
celebrities
and
artists.
It
was
a
feast
in
the
circle
of
art.
In
the
centre
was
a
painting
entitled
“Thief”,
priced
at
40,000
dollars.
Strangely
enough,
the
woman
in
the
painting
looked
just
the
same
as
the
vain
woman
in
reality.
Word
spread
and
finally
it
reached
the
woman’s
ears.
She
recalled
the
incident
and
the
painter.
It
dawned
on
her
that
the
painter
humiliated
her
in
this
way.
Paragraph
2:
The
woman
went
there
hurriedly,
apologised
millions
of
times
and
promised
that
she
would
buy
her
portrait
as
soon
as
possible.
The
successful
painter
turned
his
back
to
her,
speechlessly.
With
many
visitors
around,
so
embarrassed
was
she
that
she
stood
there
clumsily,
feeling
the
blood
rush
to
her
face.
Then
the
painter
turned
around
and
handed
her
the
portrait.
Before
the
woman
could
pay
her
money,
the
painter
explained
that
it
was
a
gift
for
her,
hoping
she
would
be
an
honest
woman
without
vanity.
Anyway,
for
the
painter,
it
was
this
incident
that
made
him
what
he
was
today.

the
things
he
grows
is
a
potato
plant.
Later,
scientists
in
Peru
and
NASA
scientists
in
California
started
working
together
on
growing
potatoes
in
Mars-like
conditions.
They
built
a
container
called
Mars-in-a-box
where
they
could
create
conditions
similar
to
those
on
Mars.
The
salty
soil
came
from
the
southern
coast
of
Peru,
where
there
is
very
little
rain.
Inside
the
Mars-in-a-box,
the
scientists
made
the
air
pressure
similar
to
what
it
is
like
at
6,000
metres,
decreased
the
temperature
below
zero,
and
added
carbon
monoxide(一氧化碳)
to
the
air.
They
made
a
lighting
system
that
followed
Mars’
daytime
and
nighttime.
Scientists
planted
65
types
of
potato
plants,
and
waited.
After
some
time,
four
of
them
grew.
Later,
the
scientists
took
the
strongest
of
the
four
plants
and
tried
again.
This
time,
they
used
crushed
rocks
instead
of
soil.
The
plant
managed
to
survive.
The
research
is
being
done
in
Peru.
You
may
not
know
that
Peru
is
known
as
the
birthplace
of
potato
farming.
People
grew
potatoes
there
about
7,000
years
ago.
Even
in
cold,
barren
parts
of
Peru,
potatoes
still
grow.
In
addition,
the
International
Potato
Centre
is
located
in
the
capital
city,
Lima.
The
surviving
potato
in
the
Mars-in-a-box
is
known
as
the
Unique.
It
can
still
grow
in
freezing
weather
conditions
that
would
contain
high
amounts
of
carbon
dioxide.
The
research
is
not
only
for
a
trip
to
Mars
one
day.
It
is
going
to
help
feed
people
in
parts
of
the
world
that
are
already
having
trouble
planting
traditional
crops
because
of
climate
change.
The
scientists
in
Peru
and
California
will
try
to
grow
more
plants
in
even
more
difficult
conditions.

答案:D
B
Although
onions
taste
delicious,
watering
eyes
come
with
the
process
when
you
cut
them
up.
Thankfully,
Good
Housekeeping
has
suggested
some
tips
to
prevent
yourself
crying
while
trying
to
cut
up
an
onion.
According
to
the
findings
from
the
Institute,
putting
onions
in
the
fridge
30
minutes
before
cutting
can
prevent
the
annoying
hurt,
as
the
cold
stops
tear-jerking(催泪的)
gas
from
being
produced.
Another
way
to
reduce
the
gas
released(释放)
by
the
onion
is
to
put
it
in
water
for
a
while.
Good
Housekeeping
recommends:
“Cut
the
end
off
the
onion
and
then
put
it
straight
into
a
bowl
of
water.
The
water
will
draw
out
the
acid(酸性物质)
making
your
tears
fewer
when
you
cut
it.”
When
an
onion
grows,
it
mixes
with
sulfur(硫)
in
the
soil
to
create
a
special
mineral
acid.
When
the
onion
is
cut
into
pieces,
it
reacts
and
creates
a
gas.
As
it
reaches
your
face,
this
annoying
gas
causes
the
eyes
to
produce
tears.
The
root
is
where
the
gases
are
most
concentrated,
so
it
is
recommended
that
this
part
of
the
onion
be
left
on
as
you
cut
it
to
avoid
uncomfortable
eyes.
Do
this
by
cutting
the
vegetable
in
half
down
the
middle,
and
then
cut
off
part
of
one
side
to
create
a
flat
surface.
Then,
place
the
onion
with
its
flat
surface
down
and
cut
it
towards
the
root.
5.
Why
should
we
put
onions
in
the
fridge
before
cutting?
A.
To
change
its
taste.
B.
To
make
it
easier
to
be
cut
up.
C.
To
avoid
producing
the
uncomfortable
gas.
D.
To
help
the
gases
mix
more
quickly.
解析:细节理解题。根据第二段“...
putting
onions
in
the
fridge
30
minutes
before
cutting
can
prevent
the
annoying

as
the

答案:C
6.
What
happens
when
an
onion
is
cut
up?
A.
Some
acid
mineral
is
lost.
B.
The
tear
mixture
is
created.
C.
The
sulfur
inside
it
pours
out.
D.
A
chemical
reaction
produces
a
gas.
解析:细节理解题。根据第四段“When
the
onion
is
cut
into

it
reacts
and
creates
a
gas.”可知,洋葱被切碎时会发生化学反应并产生一种气体。
答案:D
7.
What

A.
Producing
more
tears.
B.
Leaving
the
root
uncut
first.
C.
Improving
concentration.
D.
Making
the

tasty.
解析:代词指代题。根据上文“The

where
the
gases
are
most
concentrated,
so
it
is
recommended
that
this
part
of
the

Local
farms
that
sell
organic
fruit
and
vegetables
at
the
farmers’
markets
aren’t
going
to
add
any
chemicals,
like
preservatives
(防腐剂),
to
their
food.
10
But
shopping
at
your
local
farmers’
market
is
a
great
way
to
make
sure
the
food
is
fresh
and
healthy.
Here
are
some
tips
that
can
help
when
you
make
a
trip
to
the
farmers’
markets.?
First
of
all,
you
should
go
at
the
right
time.
11
In
this
way,
you
can
buy
all
kinds
of
fresh
food
at
a
better
price.
You
can
also
visit
the
market
late
in
the
evening
and
get
some
good
bargains,
since
farmers
are
trying
to
avoid
taking
home
whatever
is
left.?
It’s
also
important
to
talk
to
the
farmers
and
get
along
well
with
them.
You
can
ask
questions
related
to
the
food
quality
and
the
organic
farming
methods
they
use.
12
And
whenever
you
want
to
buy
a
large
amount,
you
might
get
a
better
price
for
your
purchase.?
Since
local
food
doesn’t
contain
any
preservatives,
you
may
find
it
doesn’t
last
long.
Believe
it
or
not,
that’s
actually
a
good
thing!
13
For
example,
you
can
put
it
in
a
refrigerator.
Also
if
you
clean
and
cut
your
food
in
a
right
way,
making
it
ready-to-eat,
you’ll
be
more
likely
to
eat
it
rather
than
sitting
and
watching
it
go
bad.?
A.
That’s
why
local
food
comes
in.
B.
Make
sure
that
you
get
what
looks
the
best
and
freshest.
C.
You
can
prevent
food
going
bad
quickly
by
storing
it
properly.
D.
Of
course,
local
and
organic
food
can
be
found
in
supermarkets.
E.
If
you’re
an
early
riser,
then
go
to
the
market
early
in
the
morning.
F.
Make
a
quick
look
around
the
entire
market
before
you
buy
anything.
G.
By
making
friends
with
farmers,
you
can
get
the
best
deals
on
the
food.
9.

friends
with

along
well
with
them”意思相近。
答案:G

A
Every
time
you
go
shopping,
the
vegetables
and
fruit
look
so
tempting
that
you
wish
you
could
buy
all
of
them.
Some
people
are
lucky
and
can
grow
the
fruit
and
vegetables
in
the
gardens
that
they
have.
While
getting
fresh
vegetables,
they
can
also
achieve
great
cost-cutting.
Mushrooms
are
expensive
and
can
also
go
bad
very
quickly.
Mushrooms
can
also
be
grown
easily
in
a
dark
environment.
In
fact
it’s
better
than
growing
other
vegetables
since
you
really
don’t
need
an
outdoor
space.
A
special
type
of
soil
that
is
good
for
growing
mushrooms
is
easily
available.
Actually
mushrooms
aren’t
even
vegetables;
they
are
fungi(菌类)
and
for
this
reason,
you
don’t
even
require
sunlight
to
grow
them.
Well,
how
does
one
go
about
growing
mushrooms?
You
could
always
Google
“growing
mushrooms”
and
you
will
find
a
number
of
mushroom
growing
kits(工具)
available
online
that
are
effective
and
not
very
expensive
either.
Mushrooms
can
be
added
to
any
dish
that
you
cook.
Simply
use
them
in
pizzas,
salads
and
anything
that
you
pretty
much
fancy.
Grow
mushrooms
in
your
own
house
and
use
them
whenever
you
want.
Fresh
mushrooms
are
tastier
than
the
ones
that
are
stored
in
your
refrigerator.
If
you
have
had
a
really
good
crop
of
mushrooms,
then
you
can
even
store
them.
Ideally
you
should
use
the
white
variety
of
the
mushrooms.
Simply
pick
them,slice
them
and
put
them
on
a
baking
tray
in
a
freezer.
When
they
are
frozen,
you
can
use
them
when
you
want
to.
Remember
to
thaw(解冻)
them
before
you
use
them,
and
they
will
give
a
really
great
taste
to
the
dish
that
you
are
making.
1.

The
little

as
they

more
people
have
begun
to
use
them.
Rescue
workers
and
farmers
are
among
the
new
users.
Rescue
workers
use
them

And
now
farmers

Moviemakers

Historians

Romain
Faroux
is
a
French
businessman
who
starts
companies.His
father
was
a
farmer.He
believed
drones
could
help
farmers.
He
helped
create
a
company
that
developed
a
small
drone
that
could
be
controlled
by
people
on
the
ground.
They
called
it
“Agridrone”.
It
uses
a
special
“optical
sensor”
to
examine
crops.
He
says
the
technology
used
is
similar
to
that
used
by
smartphones—except
it
has
wings.
A
computer
programme
directs
the
drone
to
fly
over
the
crops.
The
sensor
on
the
drone
records
four
different-coloured
“bands”
of
sunlight
that
are
reflected
off
the
crops.
Jean-Baptiste
Bruggeman
is
a
farmer.
He
says
the
drone
flies
over
his
crops
at
different
times
of
the
season.
And
this
provides
a
lot
of
information
about
his
crops.The
drone
pictures
show
him
the
exact
amount
of
fertiliser
the
crops
need.It
also
shows
exactly
where
the
fertiliser
is
needed.
Some
areas
of
a
field
may
need
more
than
others.
As
a
result,
Mr.
Bruggeman
says
there
is
reduced
nitrogen
from
the
fertiliser
after
the
harvest.This
helps
nature.Romain
Faroux
says
farmers
use
information
gathered
by
the
Agridrone
to
place
fertiliser
only
in
areas
where
it
is
needed.
Before
they
used
the
drones,
farmers
would
put
the
same
amount
of
fertiliser
everywhere.
Drones
also
save
time
because
farmers
can
examine
up
to
three
hectares
in
about
a
minute.
4.
The
first
paragraph
is
mainly
about

A.

of
drones
C.
the

of
drones
D.

of
