众所周知，星期纪日法是现在世界各国通用的纪日方法。
一星期七日计法是巴比伦发明的，犹太人把它传到古埃及，又由古埃及传到罗马，由于罗马帝国的扩张，逐渐传遍欧洲。
最早给一星期七日命名的是古埃及人，他们以太阳、月亮和五大行星作为其名称。
