1) 句中glad意为“愉快的，愉悦的”，和pleased同义。be glad to do sth.意为“高兴做某事，乐意做某事”如：
I’m very glad to see you.我很高兴见到你。
He’s glad to help others.他很乐意帮助别人。
I’m very to be here. 我很高兴在这里。
【拓展】be glad of sth.或be glad that从句，意为:因………而高兴。如： I’m very glad of your success.我为你的成功而感到欣慰。
