B
Since
the
very
year
I
was
born,
South
Jersey
has
been
a
part
of
me.
Since
both
of
my
grandparents
have
lived
in
the
area
for
many
decades,
my
family
has
visited
South
Jersey
yearly
since
2014.
Its
warm
and
lively
feel
is
very
appealing
to
many
families
that
are
looking
for
an
easy
and
fun
getaway.
Every
summer
we
pile
into
the
car
and
drive
four
hours
away
to
the
Seaview
Hotel
and
Club,
a
wonderful
place
which
is
located
in
Galloway,
20
minutes
from
the
beach
and
boardwalk(木板人行道).
The
Seaview
is
enticing
and
quite
inexpensive
as
well,
which
is
perfect
for
any
family.
The
rooms
are
neat,
and
the
breakfasts
are
a
real
attraction,
even
to
adults.
I
have
always
loved
going
down
to
their
lovely
outdoor
swimming
pool
in
the
mornings
and
then
ordering
a
lunch
from
the
Coastal
Grille,
the
hotel’s
main
restaurant.
The
Seaview
is
really
great,and
somewhere
else
is
even
more
exciting.
At
the
end
of
every
day
in
South
Jersey,
my
family
always
makes
it
an
important
goal
to
drive
to
the
local
beach
and
boardwalk,
Ocean
City.
Ocean
City
is
wonderful
with
great
swimming,
lots
of
pizza
places,
ice
cream
stands,
and
excellent
rides
and
games.
After
dinner,
we
always
check
out
“Gillian’s
Pier”,
the
impressive
and
exciting,
yet
small
amusement
area
located
on
the
boardwalk.
It
is
lots
of
fun
to
ride
on
the
bumper
car(碰碰车)
and
roller
coaster
and
to
taste
soft-serve
ice
creams
and
cotton
candy.
Next
door,
there
is
even
a
video
arcade(游戏厅),
so
overall
South
Jersey
is
your
classic
family
summer
vacation.
I
would
definitely
recommend
visiting,
even
just
for
a
weekend,
someday.

New
South
Wales,
Australia,
is
setting
up
cameras
as
part
of
an
effort
to
reduce
the
number
of
people
preoccupied
with
wireless
devices
while
they
drive.
It
will
be
the
first
area
in
the
world
to
use
the
technology
to
punish
drivers
distracted(分心)
with
telephone
calls,
social
media
or
text
messages.
Road
safety
experts
are
concerned
about
the
growing
number
of
accidents
involving
drivers
using
smartphones
on
the
state’s
roads.
They
say
drivers
who
use
phones
while
driving
greatly
increase
their
chances
of
being
involved
in
an
accident.
The
New
South
Wales
government
plans
to
place
45
Mobile
Phone
Detection
Cameras
across
the
state
by
December.
Each
phone
detection
unit
contains
two
cameras.
One
camera
takes
pictures
of
a
vehicle’s
registration
plate(牌照).
A
second
camera
looks
through
the
front
window
of
a
car
or
truck
to
see
what
drivers
are
doing
with
their
hands.
The
units
use
artificial
intelligence
to
set
aside
drivers
who
are
not
touching
their
phones.
Human
beings
then
confirm
if
the
pictures
show
illegal
behaviour
before
notice
is
sent
to
the
vehicle’s
registered
owner.
A
violation
(违反)
carries
a
fine
of
$232.
Some
cameras
will
be
permanently
set
up
on
roadsides.
Others
will
be
moved,
from
time
to
time,
around
the
state.
Two
fixed
cameras
took
photographs
of
8.5
million
vehicles
as
part
of
a
six-month
test
earlier
this
year.
The
cameras
took
photos
of
more
than
100,000
drivers
with
their
hands
on
phones.
One
driver
was
using
a
phone
and
another
electronic
device,
an
Apple
iPad,
at
the
same
time.
Another
driver
had
a
passenger
guide
the
vehicle
while
they
both
held
phones,
the
state
government
said.
( )8.What
is
the
purpose
of
setting
up
cameras
in
New
South
Wales?
A.To
keep
records
of
the
accidents.
B.To
promote
the
latest
technology.
C.To
find
illegal
behaviour
of
the
drivers.
D.To
force
drivers
to
focus
more
on
driving.
( )9.What
can
we
infer
from
the
second
paragraph?
A.Smartphones
are
main
killers
on
the
road.
B.All
accidents
result
from
drivers’
using
cell
phones.
C.Measures
are
badly
needed
to
ban
using
phones
while
driving.
D.Carrying
a
smartphone
while
driving
will
cause
an
accident.
( )10.How
does
the
phone
detection
unit
function
effectively?
A.It
corrects
the
drivers’
wrong
behaviour.
B.It
has
two
cameras
to
record
the
plates.
C.It
sends
notice
to
the
legal
driver
autonomously.
D.It
combines
artificial
intelligence
with
human
efforts.
( )11.What
did
the
six-month
test
show?
A.Electronic
devices
could
help
drivers
indeed.
B.Many
passengers
helped
operate
the
vehicles.

drivers
used
electronic
devices
while
driving.

Older
women
who
walk
a
little
over
three
kilometres
each
day
might
live
longer
than
less
active
women
of
the
same
age,
a
new
study
suggests.
Many
Americans
hoping
to
stay
healthy
set
a
daily
goal
of
10,000
steps,
or
about
eight
kilometres.
They
often
have
this
goal
because
they
are
wearing
electronic
devices
which
set
that
target,
note
researchers
in
the
United
States.
Their
findings
appeared
recently
in
the
publication
JAMA
Internal
Medicine.
But
it
is
not
clear
how
much
intensity(强度)
or
speed
matters
when
counting
the
health
benefits
of
every
step,
the
researchers
write.
They
add
that
10,000
steps
per
day
might
not
be
the
right
goal
for
everyone.
For
the
study,
researchers
observed
17,000
women,
all
in
their
early
70s.
They
asked
the
women
to
wear
accelerometers(加速度计)
for
at
least
four
days.
Accelerometers
are
small
devices
that
measure
the
number
of
steps
and
the
intensity
of
movement.
The
researchers
followed
up
with
the
women
much
later,
around
4.3
years
later,
on
average.
Since
the
beginning
of
the
study,
504
women
had
died.
Compared
to
women
who
took
no
more
than
2,718
steps
daily,
the
women
who
took
at
least
4,363
steps
per
day
were
41
per
cent
less
likely
to
die.
“Even
a
modest
quantity
of
steps
is
associated
with
lower
death
rates,”said
I-Min
Lee,
the
lead
writer
of
a
report
on
the
study.
The
rate
of
stepping
did
not
matter
in
these
older
women:
it
was
the
number
of
steps
that
mattered.
The
study
had
a
few
limitations.
For
example,
the
researchers
only
measured
women’s
movements
once,
at
the
start
of
the
study
period.
It
is
possible
that
the
women’s
behaviours
changed
over
time.
Still,
the
results
are
“good
news
for
older
adults
who
may
have
difficulty
walking
at
faster
paces,”
said
Keith
Diaz,
a
researcher
at
Columbia
University.
He
was
not
involved
in
the
study.
“Any
walking
is
better
than
nothing,”
Diaz
said
by
e-mail.
“With
even
small
amounts
of
walking,
your
risk
of
death
will
be
sharply
reduced.”
“For
those
who
have
difficulty
walking,
other
research
shows
that
any
form
of
aerobic
activity
provides
health
benefits,”
he
added.
“Swimming,
bicycling
or
any
form
of
activity
that
is
continuous
in
nature
will
provide
health
benefits.”
( )12.How
is
Paragraph
4
mainly
developed?
A.
By
giving
examples.
B.
By
comparison.
C.
By
listing
statistics.
D.
By
explaining
reasons.
( )13.What
can
be
learned
from
what
Diaz
said?
A.
People
who
walk
fast
will
get
more
health
benefits.
B.
If
people
have
a
habit
of
walking,
the
risk
of
death
will
be
reduced.
C.
People
with
walking
difficulty
cannot
benefit
from
activities.
D.
Activities
such
as
swimming
and
bicycling
are
not
as
beneficial
as
walking.
( )14.Where
is
the
text
most
likely
from?
A.
A
medical
journal.
B.
A
news
report.
C.
A
magazine
about
fashion.
D.
A
traveller
brochure.
( )15.What
conclusion
can
we
come
to
from
the
text?
A.
People
who
walk
about
10,000
steps
can
live
longer.
B.
10,000
steps
per
day
might
be
the
right
goal
for
people.
C.
The
more
steps
one
walks
per
day,
the
longer
life
he
may
live.
D.
The
number
of
steps
is
important
for
a
long
life
among
older
women.

参考答案
第一部分
第一节
A
【文章大意】
本文是一篇说明文,介绍了五个我国著名的现代建筑的情况。
1.A 细节理解题。纵观全文,尤其是根据Beijing
International
Airport中的“The
first
place
most
visitors
see
when
they
arrive
in
China
is
Beijing
International
Airport.
The
airport
was
constructed
in
the
1950s.”可知,大多数游客抵达中国时首先看到的是北京国际机场。这个飞机场建于20世纪50年代,是四个选项所列的建筑中最早建造的建筑。故选A。
2.B 细节理解题。根据Shanghai
World
Financial

10
years
to
complete
due
to
financial
shortages
and

B
【文章大意】
本文是一篇记叙文。文章通过讲述作者一家每年夏天去南泽西度过的美好且有趣的日子,来说明南泽西是一个很具吸引力的地方。
4.D 细节理解题。根据第一段“Since
both
of
my
grandparents
have
lived
in
the
area
for
many
decades,
my
family
has
visited
South
Jersey
yearly
since
2014.”可知,作者自2014年以来之所以每年都来南泽西是因为那是他祖父母的家乡。故选D。
5.B 词义猜测题。根据画线词所在的句子“The
Seaview
is
enticing
and
quite
inexpensive
as
well,
which
is
perfect
for
any
family.”可知,这个酒店非常有吸引力而且也不贵,对于任何家庭来说都是极好的,结合句意尤其是perfect可推测画线单词应该意为“有吸引力的;迷人的”。故选B。
6.A 推理判断题。根据第一段“Its
warm
and
lively
feel
is
very
appealing
to
many
families
that
are
looking
for
an
easy
and
fun
getaway.”可知,它的温暖和活跃的感觉对于正在寻找一个简单和有趣的适合度假的地方的许多家庭来说非常有吸引力。结合下文可知,作者写他们一家每年在南泽西度假的故事是为了证明南泽西很有吸引力。故选A。
7.A 主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是第一段提到的“Its
warm
and
lively
feel
is
very
appealing
to
many
families
that
are
looking
for
an
easy
and
fun
getaway.”和最后一段的“…so
overall
South
Jersey
is
your
classic
family
summer
vacation.”可知,本篇文章主要谈到的就是南泽西的乐趣。故选A。
C
【文章大意】
本文是一篇说明文,主要讲述了澳大利亚新南威尔士州正在道路上设置摄像头,以减少开车时沉迷电子设备的人数。新南威尔士州将是世界上第一个用这项技术惩罚那些因电话、社交媒体或短信分心的司机的地区。
8.D 推理判断题。根据第一段“New
South
Wales,
Australia,
is
setting
up…It
will
be
the
first
area
in
the
world
to
use
the
technology
to
punish
drivers
distracted(分心)
with
telephone
calls,
social
media
or
text
messages.”可知,澳大利亚新南威尔士州正在设置摄像头,以减少开车时沉迷电子设备的人数,并用这项技术惩罚那些因电话、社交媒体或短信而分心的司机,由此可知,新南威尔士州设置摄像头的目的是促使司机更专注于驾驶。故选D。
9.C 推理判断题。根据第二段“Road
safety
experts
are
concerned
about
the
growing
number
of
accidents
involving
drivers
using
smartphones
on
the
state’s
roads.
They
say
drivers
who
use
phones
while
driving
greatly
increase
their
chances
of
being
involved
in
an
accident.”可知,道路安全专家对越来越多的司机在州内道路上行驶时使用智能手机而发生的事故表示关注。他们说,司机在开车时使用手机大大增加了事故发生的可能性。由此可知,新南威尔士州急需采取措施禁止开车时使用手机。故选C。
10.D 细节理解题。根据第四段“The
units
use
artificial
intelligence
to
set
aside
drivers
who
are
not
touching
their
phones.
Human
beings
then
confirm
if
the
pictures
show
illegal
behaviour
before
notice
is
sent
to
the
vehicle’s
registered
owner.”可知,这些装置使用人工智能技术,将没有在开车时接触手机的司机排除。然后,在向车主发出警告之前,由人类确认照片上是否有违法行为。因此,手机检测装置是把人工智能和人类的努力结合起来。故选D。
11.C 细节理解题。根据最后一段“Two
fixed
cameras
took
photographs
of
8.5
million
vehicles
as
part
of
a
six-month
test
earlier
this
year.
The
cameras
took
photos
of
more
than
100,000
drivers
with
their
hands
on
phones.”可知,今年早些时候,作为为期6个月的测试的一部分,两个固定摄像头拍摄了850万辆汽车的照片。这两个摄像头拍摄到了10万多名驾驶员手里拿着手机的照片。
所以,六个月的测试显示了许多司机在开车时使用电子设备。故选C。
D

giving
examples
举例;by
comparison
对比;by
listing
statistics列数据;by
explaining
reasons
解释原因。故选C。
13.B 细节理解题。根据最后两段尤其是最后一段Keith
Diaz所说的话“‘Any
walking
is
better
than
nothing,’…”与“‘With
even
small
amounts
of
walking,
your
risk
of
death
will
be
sharply
reduced.’”可知,即使每天走的步数不多,这也会极大地减少死亡风险,故选B。
14.A 推理判断题。文章是一项关于健康的研究报道,应出现在医学杂志上。a
medical
journal医学杂志;a
news
report新闻报道;a
magazine
about
fashion时尚杂志;a

brochure旅行手册。故选A。
15.D 细节理解题。根据最后一段“‘Any
walking
is
better
than
nothing,’…”可知,每天走路对身体健康很重要。并且第三段明确指出每天走一万步这个目标不适用于每个人。所以选项A、B都不正确。选项C(每天走的越多越长寿)描述太偏激,也不正确。故选D。
第二节

two
main
branches—the

main
Amazon
River
flows
mostly
through
Brazil
and

sources
of
the
Congo
River
are
in
the

and
mountains
in
the
Eastern
Africa
Rift
Valley.”和下文“The
Congo
River
basin(盆地)…
lies
in
both
north
and
south
of
the
equator…”可知,它流经东非大裂谷,位于赤道的南北两侧,流经世界上第二大雨林,故选F。
