and
you
know
how
enthusiastic
we

are
about
gardening.
When
we
moved
in
a
month
ago,
Mary
wanted
to
get
a
dog
to
keep
out
burglars.
However,
we
finally
decided
that
it
would
be
cheaper
to
put
an
iron
grille
in
front
of
the
door
and
get
a
burglar

Last
week,
I
went
to
a

and
bought
an

It

of
a

I

put
the

by
the

That
night
I
soon
fell
asleep
because
I
was
confident
that
no

into

undetected.
At
about
1:50
a.m.
I
woke
up
suddenly
and
heard
the
siren.
It
was
like
an
ambulance
driving
right
through
our
bedroom.
I
couldn抰
leave
the
siren
on
all
night.
I
went
downstairs
in
the
dark.
When
I
reached
the
bottom
of
the
stairs,
I
switched
on
the
light
and
looked
around.
Oh
my
gosh.
The
back
door
was
unlocked.
I
rushed
to
lock
it
and
it
was
just
at
that
exact
moment
that
the
‘burglar’
disappeared
behind
a
curtain.
Guess
what?
It
was
an
ordinary
house
lizard(蜥蜴).Apparently
the
alarm
system
had
been
made
for
American
or
European
homes
in
which
lizards
are
never
seen.
I
switched
the
alarm
off
and
sat
down
to
watch.
A
few
moments
later,
a
lizard
ran
across
a
wall,
right
in
front
of
one
of
the
alarm
units.

C
Money
is
stressful.
For
the
seventh
year
in
a
row,
the
APA抯
annual
Stress
in
America
survey
found
that
money
is
the
top
source
of
stress
for
American
adults.
More
than
a
quarter
of
Americans
say
they
feel
stressed
about
money
most
or
all
of
the
time.
Only
30
percent
rate
their
financial
security
as
high,
and
more
than
two-thirds
believe
that
more
money
would
make
them
happier.
People
commonly
deal
with
anxiety
by
avoiding
whatever
it
is
that
makes
them
anxious.
Unfortunately,
if
you
avoid
dealing
with
your
finances,
you抣l
likely
create
more
financial
problems,
and
more
anxiety,
in
the
long
term.
Money
matters
are
too
important
to
ignore.
Financial
inability
is
linked
to
money
mismanagement
and
to
debt.
Debt,
in
turn,
is
associated
with
lower
self-confidence,
lower
productivity
and
greater
stress.
Unsurprisingly,
research
has
also
linked
financial
pressure
to
desperation
(绝望).
We
develop
our
beliefs
and
attitudes
about
money
early
in
life.
Often,
we
aren’t
even
consciously
aware
of
what
our
beliefs
are,
let
alone
where
we
learned
them.
If
you抮e
dealing
with
financial
avoidance
or
financial
rejection,
it
can
help
to
think
critically
about
the
money
beliefs
you
learned
in
childhood.
Think
about
what
your
parents
taught
you
about
money.
Talk
to
family
members
about
their
money
beliefs.
Then
try
to
challenge
your
existing
beliefs
about
money.
Many
people
feel
embarrassed
about
their
debt,
ashamed
that
they
let
bank
statements
pile
up
unread.
But
that
shame
keeps
you
stuck.
Try
to
move
past
the
self-blame
so
you
can
take
some
concrete
steps
toward
financial
health.
28.

do
we
learn
about
American
adults
from
the
text?
A.
Money
causes
them
the
main
stress.
B.
They
care
about
money
most.
C.
They
need
money
very
much.
D.
Their
financial
security
is
high.
29.
What
does
the
author
think
of
avoiding
financial
stress?
A.
It抯
understandable.
B.
It抯
harmful.
C.
It抯
helpful.
D.
It抯
useless.
30.
According
to
the
text,
our
money
beliefs
are
developed
from
.
A.
examples
of
family
members
B.
attitudes

C.
experiences
of
childhood
D.
influences
of

31.

to
get
financial
health
according

their
bank
statements.
C.
Overcome
their
self-blame.
D.

your
college
kid.
Help
them
understand
these
issues
(problems)
before
they
step
into
that
first
class.
●Budget,
budget,
budget.
36
So
start
by
making
sure
you
understand
budgeting
and
have
begun
to
use
it
as
part
of
your
financial
plan.
●Independence
means
responsibility.
Living
away
from
home
means
you
have
to
take
care
of
yourself.
37
Food
doesn’t
just
drop
out
of
the
sky,
and
gas
doesn’t
magically
appear
in
their
car.
Independence
means
responsibility.
●
38
Even
if
your
kid
is
going
to
a
small
community
college,
they’ll
still
probably
have
a
few
thousand
dollars
of
tuition
to
pay.
If
you
break
it
down,
one
class
can
cost
$1,000
at
the
very
minimum!
And
that
doesn’t
even
include
books.
●Choose
a
major
wisely.
39
This
isn’t
a
must
before
they
step
on
campus,
but
simply
plant
a
seed
that
gets
them
thinking
about
what
they
want
to
do
with
their
life.
You
don’t
want
them
graduating
with
a
degree
that
leaves
them
unfulfilled
or
unable
to
find
a
job.
●Friends
matter.
40
Who
you
hang
out
with
definitely
influences
how
you
spend
money
and
the
decisions
you
make.
Without
being
overbearing,
remind
them
how
important
it
is
to
have
positive
friends
who
build
them
up
instead
of
bringing
them
down.
Remember,
as
a
parent,
just
be
there
for
support
and
to
strengthen
these
principles
throughout
their
college
experience.
A.
Cherish
your
opportunity.
B.
College
isn抰
cheap.
C.
However,
not
all
friends
can
be
really
depended
on.
D.
Help
your
teenager
find
his
or
her
passion.
E.
If
you
aren’t
using
a
budget,
it’ll
be
difficult
to
convince
your
kid
to
use
one.
F.
Do
your
best
to
prepare
your
son
or
daughter
for
what
that
means.
G.
New
friends
mean
new
opportunities
and
social
situations.

作文
Dear
Jane,
How
is
everything
going
?I
am
writing
to
share
with
you
my
opinions
on
the
universal
two-child
policy.
As
you
know,
the
aging
population
of
China
is
growing
very
fast,
partly
due
to
the
family
planning
policy.
In
order
to
increase
labor
supply,
the
government
of
China
decide
to
put
into
practice
the
universal
two-child
policy----
two
children
for
each
couple.
For
most
people,
this
policy
is
seen
as
a
fantastic
way
to
realize
some
couple抯
dreams
of
a
second
child,
but
the
truth
is
that
most
ordinary
families
cannot
afford
to
have
one
more
child
given
the
increasing
educational
and
housing
prices.
And
as
for
me,
I
do
want
to
have
a
sibling,
whom
I
can
share
my
happiness
as
well
as
sorrow
with.
Besides,
having
a
younger
brother
is
of
great
help
to
ease
the
pressure
of
caring
for
my
aged
parents
later
on.
Hope
that
we
write
more
often.
Best
wishes!
Yours,
Li
Hua
