backbone
of
any
film.
In

become
comfortable
writing
original
screenplays.
Students

finished
script
for
their
final
film.

learn
to
shoot
using
cameras.
They
will
learn
proper
loading,
operation,
and
maintenance
of
the
camera.
In
the
first
week,
students
will
learn
shoot,
screen
tests
for
focus,
slow/fast
motion,
and
so
on.Students
needing
extra
instruction
are
given
review
sessions
if
necessary.
Digital

Students
will
learn
to
edit
their
films
with
digital
editing
software.
Their
instructors
will
cover
both
the
technical
aspects
of
the
editing
process,
as
well
as
the
conventions
and
theory
behind
editing

experience
as
actors.

how
many
of

can
say
they've

a
collection
of

at
New

Fashion
Week?
Egypt
Ufele,
who
goes
by
the
name
Ify,
didn't
let
those
fifth-grade
bullies
at
her
Queens
school
keep
her
down,
and
instead
took
the
very
thing
they
made
fun
of
her
for
and
used
it
to
make
a
name
for
herself
in
the
fashion
world.
"I
turned
negative
attention
into
positive
attention,"
she
said,
shortly
after
showing
her
collection
at
Fashion
Week.
Ify
said
that
some
of
the
other
kids
would
give
her
a
hard
time
for
her
weight.
Instead
of
changing
herself
because
of,
their
unkind
words,though,she
took
the
word
"chubby"
back-creating
her
own
plus-size
fashion
line
that
she
calls
ChubiiLine.
"People
tell
me
I'm
good
at
fashion,"
Ify
said.
"Sometimes
I
give
my
models
ideas,
and
then
we
agree
on
it,
and
I
end
up
making
it."
Ify's
been
doing
the
work
all
along
and,
according
to
her
grandma
Nellie
Rembert,
takes
the
process
very
seriously.
First,
the
fifth
grader
started
sewing
clothes
for
her
toys
by
hand.
Then,
she
graduated
to
grandma's
sewing
machine,
designing
clothes
for
kids.
"She
comes
out
of
school,
goes
straight
into
homework,
and
when
other
kids
are
out
playing
she's
either
sewing
clothes
or
she's
creating
new
ideas,"
her
mom,
Dr.Reba
Perry,
said.
The
results-an
African-inspired
collection-have
earned
her
attention
from
anti-bullying
groups
and
fashion
lovers.Though
other
children
have
shown
collections
at
Fashion
Week
in
the
past,
Ify
is
the
only
one
to
have
dressed
plus-size
women.
She
even
helped
them
get
ready
backstage,
tying
them
up
and
making
sure
they
were
styled
perfectly."
Being
a
designer
and
being
at
fashion
shows
are
really
exciting
because
you
get
a
lot
of
attention,
and
a
lot
of
people
ask
you
what
inspires
you"she
said.

Maurice
Druon
of
the
French
Academy
once
proposed
that
French
should
be
made
the
principal
legal
language
of
the
European
Union(EU).
He
argued
that
its
logic
and
precision
made
it
the
excellent
judicial
language.
Others
laughed.
How
very
French
of
him!
The
French
are
hardly
alone
in
believing
that
their
language
is
especially
poetic,
emotional,
logical,
precise,
accessible
or
rich.
But
it
turns
out
that
the
things
people
prize
in
their
own
languages
can
often
be
the
same
things
foreign
learners
hate.Take
the
formal-informal
distinction
in
words
for
"you".
German
and
French
have
du
and
tu
for
friends
and
family,
and
sie
and
vous
for
unknown
adults
and
formal
speech.
Natives
of
those
languages
miss
that
distinction
when
speaking
English.
Those
whose
languages
(like
English)
don't
make
it
in
the
first
place
often
resent
having
this
choice
forced
on
them
in
French
or
German.
Linguists
(语言学家)
believe
that
languages
differ
not
in
what
they
can
express,
but
in
what
they
must.
Given
the
time
and
willingness
to
explain
or
invent
basic
terms,
any
language
could
be
used
to
talk
about
anything.
But
they
vary
wildly
in
what
they
insist
speakers
say,
with
the
tu-yous
distinction
being
just
the
tip
of
the
iceberg
Washo,
a
native
language
of
Nevada,
has
four
past
and
three
future
tenses,
depending
on
how
distant
an
event
is
in
time.
Tariana,
from
Brazil,
has
"evidentiality":
speakers
choose
one
of
five
verb-endings
to
show
how
they
know
what
they
state
to
be
true.Jarawara,
also
from
Brazil,
distinguishes
"we(including
you)"
and
"we
(without
you)".
Languages,
R
M.W.Dixon
of
James
Cook
University
in
Australia
says,
are
like
a
Western-style
house.There
are
a
few
rooms
you
must
have
(kitchen,
bedroom,
living
room,
bathroom),
and
some
optional
(office,
guest
room).
On
a
fixed
budget,
we
can't
have
all
the
extras.
As
to
which
language
is
a
"best"
one,
he
thinks
we
should
make
our
own
list
of
desirable
features,
and
then
closely
examine
a
few
languages
to
decide
whether
one
has
more
of
them
than
an
other.
But
the
list
of
advantages
is
itself
a
matter
of
judgment.
1.What
was
others'
reaction
to
Maurice
Druon's
proposal?
A.They
argued
fiercely
with
him.
B.They
dismissed
it
with
a
laugh.
C.They
tried
to
study
French
thoroughly.
D.They
choose
to
consult
a
language
expert.
2.The
underlined
word"resent"in
Paragraph
2
is
closest
in
meaning
to
"________".
A.consider
B.avoid
C.forget
D.hate
3.Which
language
speakers
use
different
verb-endings
to
express
their
varied
certainty?
A.German.
B.Washo.
C.Tariana
.
D.Jarawara.
4.What
is
the
best
title
for
the
passage?
A.Which
language
is
the
best?
You
decide
B.Are
European
languages
superior?You

C.Are
more
complicated
languages
more
precise?
D.Which
language
should
be
the
judicial
language
of
the
EU?
D
If
you're
a
hard-core
traveler,
you're
likely
always
looking
for
the
next
big
thing.
Be
it
the
newest
hotel,
the
most
luxurious
suite,
or
climbing
the
highest
mountain,
you're
down
for
all.
And
that
makes
this
new
hotel,
located
in
the
North
Pole,the
perfect
fit
for
you.
This
winter,
guests
will
have
the
unbelievable
opportunity
to
stay
in
the
northernmost
hotel
in
the
world
known
as
the
North
Pole
lgloo
Hotel.
However,
it
does
come
with
two
rather
large
catches.
The
first
is
that
it
will
only
be
available
for
an
extremely
limited
amount
of
time.
The
second
is
that
it
will
cost
$100,000
for
a
three-night
trip.
But,
that
$100,000
certainly
comes
with
few
perks
(额外待遇).
"North
Pole
igloos
hotel
concept
is
movable,
sustainable,
but
still
a
little
extreme,"
the
hotel
explains
on
its
site.
"Depending
on
weather
conditions
we
move
the
heated
glass
igloos
to
most
safe
places
around
the
arctic
glacier.
You
can
join
the
group
of
very
rare
people
who
have
spent
a
night
at
the
North
Pole's
glacier."
It
further
notes,
the
hotel
is
only
open
on
request
in
the
month
of
April,
but
guests
can
also
stay
at
another
location
on
other
dates.
So,
what
do
you
get
for
the
money?
The
hotel
comes
with
a
two-night
stay
in
Svalbard
before
a
two-hour
helicopter
ride
to
the
North
Pole
ice
camp.
Guests
are
then
transported
to
the
glacier
and
to
check
into
their
igloo
hotel.
"We
provide
all
of
the
equipment,"Janne
Honkanen,
founder
of
Luxury
Action.
"But
you
definitely
need
to
have
the
spirit
of
an
explorer
or
scientist."
Guests
are
"almost
guaranteed"to
get
a
great
viewing
of
the
Northern
Lights
as
they
are
still
incredibly
active
in
the
area
throughout
the
month
of
April.If
you've
got
the
money
to
burn
and
the
spirit
to
match,
book
it
now.

Today
This
year,
almost
4
million
Americans
will
turn
65.
That
number
will
continue
to
grow
for
the
next
two
decades.
By
2030,
it
will
grow
to
over
75
million
people.
(1)_______
In
fact,
the
U.S.
Department
of
Labor
forecasts
that
senior
service
jobs
will
be
the
fastest-growing
part
of
the
job
market
for
many
years
to
come.
(2)_______
As
most
seniors
want
to
stay
independent
as
long
as
possible,
they,
or
their
grown-up
children,
plan
to
use
that
increased
wealth
to
make
their
lives
better
in
their
senior
years.
This
will
provide
an
abundance
of
moneymaking
opportunities.
Because
most
seniors
want
to
age
in
place
in
their
own
homes,
they
often
need
help
with
daily
tasks
like
meal
preparation
and
housekeeping.
Many
are
unable
to
drive
and
need
reliable
transportation
for
shopping
trips
and
doctor's
appointments.
(3)_______
Seniors
also
often
need
a
reliable
resource
person-a
"senior
concierge"-to
handle
the
tasks
they
are
unable
to
do,
such
as
scheduling
home
repairs,
buying
groceries
or
taking
a
pet
to
the
vet.
(4)_______
There
comes
a
time-usually
in
their
70s
or
80s-when
seniors
downsize
and
move
to
a
much
smaller
residence
or
a
retirement
community.
(5)_______They
help
reduce
the
emotional
stress
associated
with
moving,
so
a
senior
has
a
gentle,and
smooth
transition
to
their
new
home.
The
growing
number
of
seniors,and
the
service
jobs
they
are
creating,
mean
new
opportunities
for
anyone
who
wants
to
start
a
business
serving
seniors.
If
you're
looking
for
a
rewarding
job
or
home-based
business
providing
essential
services
to
this
growing
population
of
seniors,
you'll
find
plenty
of
choices.
A.The
service
can
be
started
with
just
a
few
hundred
dollars
B.Some
senior
service
businesses
require
specialized
medical
training.
C.Their

need

be
as
fall-proof
as
possible,
to
prevent
accidents
D.A

professional
helps
those
folks
organize
that
move.
E.That
will
bring
many
senior
service
jobs
for
those
who
are
caring
and
capable.
F.Seniors
today
are
richer
than
ever
before
with

percent
enjoying
a

Deep
in
the
forest,
my
husband
and
I
had
climbing
over
and
crawling
under
the
downed
trees
that
blocked
the
dirt
path
before
us.
It
was
May,
yet
we
walked
up
a
snow-covered
hill.
When
we
noticed
our
jeans
were
wet
up
to
our
knees,
it
did
not
dampen
our
spirits.
Not
once
did
we
say,
"let's
turn
around."
This
was
our
vacation,
and
we
were
on
an
adventure.
Little
did
we
know
this
was
the
beginning
of
many
more
surprises.
The
trail
was
marked
as
an
easy
one-kilometer
hike,
yet
we
were
already
walking
a
long
distance.
Our
lightheartedness
stopped
when
we
came
out
into
a
clearing
and
saw
a
parking
lot
without
our
rental
car
in
it.
As
my
eyes
scanned
the
surroundings,
nothing
looked
familiar.
My
heart
raced.
I
realized
we
were
lost
in
a
notional
park
that
did
not
officially
open
for
another
week.
Usually,
I
am
the
calm
one
in
the
relationship,
but
my
husband
surprised
me
with
his
calmness.
This
did
not
comfort
me;
In
fact,
it
heightened
my
fear.
As
we
walked,
I
asked
my
husband
to
call
for
help,
but
there
was
no
cell-phone
signal
in
this
isolated
(偏僻的)
area.
It
was
awfully
quiet
except
for
our
footsteps
hitting
the
road,
and
my
heavy
breathing.
My
husband
suggested
we
conserve
energy
and
walk
slower.
With
each
step
on
the
road,
my
feet
and
thighs
hurt
while
my
mind
raced
with
thoughts
about
people
who
got
lost
in
the
Canadian
woods
for
days.
My
vision
sharpened.
I
noticed
everything
around
me:
the
trees,
rocks
and
snow.
I
thought
we
could
eat
the
snow
on
the
ground
in
case
we
needed
water.
For
the
first
time
in
my
life,
I
was
ready
and
willing
to
get
a
ride,
but
we
did
not
meet
with
a
single
car
on
the
road.
Silently,
I
prayed
multiple
times.
We
focused
on
each
other,made
joint
decisions
and
connected
through
gratitude.
We
managed
to
stay
on
the
main
road
and
walked
straight
on.
My
husband
suddenly
spotted
a
small
building
on
a
hill
in
the
distance.

A
Back-to-School
Proposal
in
the
Time
of
COVID-19
Dear
fellow
students,
Winter
holiday
is
over
and
it
is
time
to
return
to
school.
Having
fought
against
the
epidemic
for
more
than
one
years,
we
should
never
slack
off
our
guard
in
case
of
the
resurgence
of
the
novel
coronavirus.
Hence,
I
appeal
to
all
the
students
to
reduce
gatherings
and
choose
off-peak
travel
if
necessary
to
curb
the
spread
of
the
virus.
We
are
still
advised
to
wear
masks
in
public
to
better
protect
ourselves
and
others.
What's
more,
hand
washing
and
social
distancing
are
still
highly
recommendable.
As
long
as
these
epidemic
containment
measures
are
strictly
implemented,
we
will
finally
win
the
battle
against
COVID-19
and
return
to
our
normal
school
life.
Yours,
Li
Hua

My
husband
suddenly
spotted
a
small
building
on
a
hill
in
the
distance.
In
no
time
did
we
find
ourselves
heading
for
it.
We
were
filled
with
hope
and
excitement
to
find
such
a
building
in
the
middle
of
nowhere.
We
climbed
up
the
hill
at
a
swinging
pace
as
if
all
the
pains
were
gone.
As
we
approached,
a
sign
came
into
sight,
which
read:
Administration
Office.
However,
it
was
not
open
for
business.
The
empty
hall
made
us
nervous
all
at
once.
We
stood
there
hopelessly
wondering
what
to
do
next.
Just
then,
a
friendly
woman
appeared,
saying,
"Hello."
I
could
barely
hold
back
my
enthusiasm
and
blurted
out,
“We're
lost!"
She
comforted
us
and
opened
a
room
for
us
to
take
a
break.
Seeing
we
were
cold
and
hungry,
she
treated
us
with
hot
chocolate.
After
studying
the
map,
we
figured
out
that
our
car
was
parked
over
three
kilometers
away.
She
offered
us
a
ride
back
to
our
car
and
we
accepted
gladly.
I
felt
relieved
to
see
our
rental
car
again.What
a
blessing
to
have
such
an
unforgettable
experience.
