本课的教学内容是外研社出版的英语教材——《英语》（新标准）第二册（必修2）的第六个模块。本模块以“电影和电视节目”为话题，从学生喜欢的电影、电视入手，介绍了电影、电视节目的类型，帮助学生从背景、情节、角色等方面赏析电影并评论。
本课为第六模块的第一课时（Introduction: vocabulary and speaking）, 此部分共设计了三个活动。通过学生问答，两人活动等介绍和呈现与电影有关的英文词汇（教参p.86）。

本班共60名学生，男生43，女生17, 年龄多在15-16岁之间。 学生对“电影”这一话题较为熟悉，这为该节课活动的开展提供了有效条件。此外，本班大部分学生比较喜欢英语，并能在课堂上主动参与到课堂活动之中。

Task 1 Talking about the general information of a film

Step 1 Lead-in
T (Showing a film ticket): Look at what is in my hand. This is a film ticket. Do you want to have the ticket
Ss:
T: Well, as long as you perform well in today’s class, you will have the chance to get the ticket. Well, if you get the ticket, what film do you want to see
Ss:
Step 2 Learning the new language
Lead-in: Well, you have mentioned a lot of films you want to see, I hope you can get this ticket to see the film you want to see. Now, let’s look at this film poster.

Introduce the new words and sentence patterns while talking about the film.

T: Yes, poster is a large printed picture displayed in public place. Film poster is the poster advertising the film. What’s the film called
Ss: (Instruct the students to answer in full sentences)

T: Yes, “direct” means “be in charge of the film”. Do you want to direct a film Who direct the film called Avatar

In the same way, the teacher teaches the sentence patterns “Who stars in it ”, “When did it come out ”
Step 3 Talking about the film poster of Harry Potter
Lead-in: Just now, we learned how to talk about the general information about a film. Please open your books at page 51, look at the picture part 1. Let’s look at the film poster and answer the questions.
Work in groups of 2 to ask and answer the questions.
Let 2-3 groups to report.
Step 4 Guessing game
Lead-in: Well done! Good job. Now, let’s do a guessing game. Please work in groups of 4. Each member of the group writes down one film name, and then asks your partner the questions to guess what the film is.
The teacher acts as a guesser, showing the model with some students as follows:

Show a film poster of Ye Wen.
Instruct the students to make a summary of different types of film.
3. Explain each type of film with its basic features, or use gestures or film posters.
Step 3 Practice
Lead-in: Ok, you learned some types of film. Next, let’s have some practice.
Ask the students to read the words after the teacher.
Ask 2-4 students to act out one type of film, the rest of the class guess what type of film it is.
Do part 3 in the book.

1. Tell the direction.
T: Perform a dialogue with a partner on cue cards. Speaker A looks at Card A and Speaker B looks at Card B. Then, with your partner make up your own prompts to be used on cue cards.
Card AYou met a classmate at the gate of the Pacific cinema. Begin with the conversation with a greeting. Greet your partner. Ask your partner which film he or she saw just now. Ask your partner who directs the film.Ask your partner who stars in the film. Ask your partner when it came out. Ask your partner what type of film it is, and what type of film he or she likes.
