Jenny: Hi, Mum! Hi, Dad! Guess what! We're learning about the Silk Road this month in school.
Mr. Smith: The Silk Road? That's in China!
Jenny: Yes, it is! Mum and Dad, may I ask you a question?
Mrs. Smith: Sure, Jenny! What is it?
Jenny: My school is planning a trip around China with Li Ming's school. Some students from my class will go to China and travel on the Silk Road. May I go with them?
Mr. Smith: Who will lead the trip?
Jenny: Ms. Martin! Here is the note from my school.
(Jenny' s father and mother read the note.)
Mrs. Smith: Yes, you may go. This is a good chance for you. You will learn about China.
Jenny: Really? Great! Thanks, Mum and Dad! I'm so excited! I will send Li Ming an e-mail and tell him the good news.
Is the Silk Road made of silk? Of course not. The Silk Road gets its name from the Chinese silk trade along it during the Han Dynasty.

trip意为“旅行,旅程”,侧重短途旅行。
trip的常用搭配:
1. a trip to. . . 意为“一次去……的旅行;……之行”,
to为介词,后常接名词。
2. have / take a trip意为“旅行”,相当于go on a trip。
trip, travel和tour
trip
一般指短时间、近距离的“旅行,远足”,也可以指长途旅行。
只用作名词。
travel
作“旅行;游历”讲,一般表示从一地到另一地旅行这一总的概念。常指长时间、远距离的“旅行”,尤指出国旅行。可作动词和名词,作名词时其复数形式意为“旅途;旅行笔记”。
tour
一般有游览或视察的意味,距离可长可短,常带有“最后回到出发地”的含义,可作动词或名词。

may是情态动词,表示允许,意为“可以”,也可以表示“可能”;后接动词原形,没有人称和数的变化。

lead v. 带领;指路
lead作及物动词,意为“带领;指路”,后接或作宾语。其过去式和过去分词均为led。
常与介词to构成短语:
lead to. . . “(道路)通向;导致”
lead sb. to sp. “带领某人去某地”
lead sb. to do sth. “带领某人做某事”
lead的名词形式leader意为“领导者;领袖”
e.g.
Chairman Mao was a very great leader.
I will send Li Ming an e-mail and tell him the good news.

send v. (sent/sent) 寄;送
e.g.
Tom sent me a note thanking me for dinner.
We’re learning about the Silk Road this month in school.

一般将来时表示将来某一时刻将要发生的动作或将来某一段时间内经常发生的动作或存在的状态。一般将来时由助动词shall(第一人称),will(第二、三人称)+动词原形构成。

1.用will或shall表示。
“助动词will或shall+动词原形”这一形式,表示将来发生的事情,用于征求对方的意见或表示客气的邀请。
在口语中will用于所有人称,书面语中第一人称常用shall。
e.g. Tomorrow will be Sunday.

2.用be going to结构表示。“be going to+动词原形”用来表示近期或事先考虑过的将要发生的动作以及已有迹象表明必将发生某事,意为“打算;就要”。
