The Great Wall
中国的长城共有近一万公里，东起河北秦皇岛的山海关，西到嘉峪关，比较著名的有八达岭长城、金山岭长城、司马台长城、慕田峪长城、居庸关长城和箭扣长城等。 北京的长城，　长城是中华民族精神的缩影，也是中华民族文明的象征。万里长城是世界建筑奇迹之一。东西相距长达5000多公里，因此被称之为万里长城，是月球上“ 唯一能看得见的人工工程”，也是中国第一名胜和中国旅游点的代表，被联合国科教文组织列入《世界文化遗产名录》。
The Ming Tombs
明十三陵坐落于北京市昌平区天寿山麓，总面积一百二十余平方公里，距离天安门约五十公里。自永乐七年（1409）五月始作长陵，到明朝最后一帝崇祯葬入思陵止，其间230多年，先后修建了十三座皇帝陵墓、七座妃子墓、一座太监墓。共埋葬了十三位皇帝、二十三位皇后、二位太子、三十余名妃嫔、两位太监。
截止2011年，已开放景点有长陵、定陵、昭陵、神路。
The Summer Palace
颐和园原是清朝帝王的行宫和花园，前身清漪园，是三山五园中最后兴建的一座园林，始建于1750年，1764年建成，面积290公顷,水面约占四分之三。乾隆继位以前，在北京西郊一带，已建起了四座大型皇家园林，从海淀到香山这四座园林自成体系，相互间缺乏有机的联系，中间的“瓮山泊”成了一片空旷地带。乾隆十五年（1750年），乾隆皇帝在这里改建为清漪园，以此为中心把两边的四个园子连成一体，形成了从现清华园到香山长达二十公里的皇家园林区。咸丰十年（1860年），清漪园被英法联军焚毁。光绪十四年（1888年），慈禧太后以筹措海军经费的名义动用3000万两白银重建，改称颐和园，作消夏游乐地。到光绪二十六年（1900年），颐和园又遭“八国联军”的破坏，烧毁了许多建筑物。光绪二十九年（1903年）修复。后来在军阀混战、国民党统治时期，又遭破坏，1949年之后政府不断拨款修缮，1961年3月4日，颐和园被公布为第一批全国重点文物保护单位，1998年11月被列入《世界遗产名录》。2007年5月8日，颐和园经国家旅游局正式批准为国家5A级旅游景区。
The Forbidden City
故宫旧称紫禁城。是明清两代皇宫，中国现存最大最完整的古建筑群。1988年被联合国教科文组织列为“世界文化遗产”。 故宫占地72万平方米，屋宇8千7百多间，建筑面积15.5万平方米。为一长方形城池，四角矗立、风格绮丽的角楼，墙外有宽52米的护城河环绕，形成一个森严壁垒的城堡。城墙之内都是木结构、黄琉璃瓦顶、青白石底座，饰以金碧辉煌的彩画。建筑气势雄伟、豪华壮丽，是中国古代建筑艺术的精华和保护物。 故宫博物院藏有大量珍贵文物，据统计总共达1052653件之多，统称有文物100万件，占全国文物总数的1/6。
The Temple of Heaven
天坛位于北京正阳门东南方向，为明、清两朝皇帝祭天、求雨和祈祷丰年的专用祭坛，是世界上现存规模最大、最完美的古代祭天建筑群。坛域北呈圆形，南为方形，寓意“天圆地方”。四周环筑坛墙两道，把整个天坛分为内坛、外坛两部分，祈年殿、回音壁等耳熟能详的建筑都位于内坛。
Beihai Park
北海位于今北京城的中心地区，与中南海一桥之隔，总面积1063亩，其中水面占一半以上，是我国现存历史最悠久、最完整的皇家园林。它以富丽多彩的文物古迹、风格独特的造园艺术、优美秀丽的湖光山色而驰名中外，每年到这里参观的游客达一千万人次。 　　北海的建设源于一个古老的神话：据说，浩翰的东海上有三座仙山，叫做蓬莱、瀛洲、方丈；山上住着长生不死的神仙。秦始皇统一中国后，派方士徐福前往东海寻找不死药，可一无所获。到了汉朝，汉武帝也做起了长生不死之梦，可寻找仍然没有结果，于是下令在长安北面挖了一个大水池，名"太液池"，池中堆起三座假山，分别以蓬莱、濒洲、方丈三仙山命名。自此以后，历代皇帝都喜欢仿效"一池三山"的形式来建造皇家宫苑。北海采取的正是这种形式--北海象征"太液池"，"琼华岛"是蓬莱，原在水中的"团城"和"犀山台"则象征瀛洲和方丈。园中有"吕公洞"、"仙人庵"、"铜仙承露盘"等许多求仙的遗迹。
