1. 长度:在2007至2010年, 10个空时, 短文长度大约是180个词; 2011年改为15空后, 短文长度大约是250个词, 即220至280个词。
2. 题材:或反映最新科技动态, 或体现文化内涵。
3. 体裁:记叙文、说明文和论说文, 特别是以记叙为主的论说文。
4. 难度:一般不会有影响短文理解的超标词, 但有时会出现课标单词的派生词,如supernatural, folktale, automatically, recognition, inexpensive等, 其词根都是课标中规定的词, 考生根据构词法知识不难
理解其意义。

1. 只考实词:五年来只考实词, 即名词、动 词、形容词和副词四类词。
至于这四类词是否有比例的问题, 上表显示, 是没有比例规律的, 哪类词设多少个空, 由所选材料本身的实际情况所决定。
2.四个不考:五年来广东高考完形填空题没考以下四个方面的内容。
(1)不考虚词。即不考代词、冠词、关联词、介词。
(2)不考语法。试题答案全都是通过理解语篇意义, 根据上下文的逻辑关系来确定。
(3)不考固定搭配。只需记熟固定搭配, 无需理解语篇意义即可选出答案的题一般不考。
即使涉及固定搭配, 也不止一个选项可以跟某个词构成固定搭配, 此时, 还必须结合语篇意义和逻辑关系才可最终选出正确答案。如2008年第26题, replace A with B(用B替换A); cover A with B (用B盖住B)。
只需熟记搭配, 不一定需要理解语篇意义即可选出答案的, 五年来只考过一个小题, 即2009年第21空,考查mistake A for B(误以为A是B)这一固定搭配。
(4) 不考同义词辨析。五年来, 从来没有将在具体语境中其词义或用法难以辨别的两个或几个词语作为同一个小题的选项。一般说来, 四个选项的意义, 差别较大。
我们认为, 像even, ever, still之类的副词是体现语篇特征的典型词语, 非常适合在完形填空中考查, 尽管尚未考查过, 但在今后的完形填空中是有可能考的, 决不可忽视。
1. 首句不设空: 文章的首句不设空, 有助于考生了解或推测全文的大意。
2. 选项特点: 同一小题的四个选项都是同一词类, 且为同一语法形式。即:
若四个选项都是名词, 要么四个都是单数, 要么四个都是复数;
若四个选项都是动词要么四个都是-ing形式, 要么四个都是-ed形式, 要么四个都是原形, 要么四个都是第三人称单数形式;
若是形容词或副词, 要么四个都是原形,要么四个都是比较级或最高级。
请看近五年高考题正确选项的分布情况:

在正确选项中, A、B、C和D所占比例均等, 即2007至2010年10空时, 正确选项中A、B、C、D各占2—3个; 2011年15空后, 正确选项中A、B、C、D各占3—4个。
名师指津:在15个小题中, 若对14个小题有把握, 只有1个题没有把握时, 可以根据答案均等的原则去考虑。例如, 你的“正确答案”中只有2个
