Jenny: Danny! You can find donuts anywhere in Canada. The Silk Road is about history and culture, not donuts.
Danny: Yes, I know. I'm making a joke. Let's go to the library and work on our projects.

What is a joke? A joke is something funny you say to make people laugh. Do you know any jokes in Chinese? Can you translate any jokes into English?

talk构成的其他常见短语有:

interest 作名词，意为“兴趣”，常作不可数名词；常用短语：have/take interest in … “对……感兴趣”；a place of interest “名胜”。interest 作名词还有“业余爱好，感兴趣的事”之意，常作可数名词，相当于hobby。
interest 作动词，意为“使……感兴趣；引起……的兴趣”，其后通常接人。

interested与interesting的区别
interested 形容词,意为“感兴趣的”,常用结构: be/get/become interested in (doing) sth. 意为“对(做)……感兴趣”,主语是人；
interesting 形容词,意为“令人感兴趣的”,既可以作表语,也可以作定语,一般用于修饰物；
e.g.
This is an interesting story.

hear是及物动词,后面直接跟宾语,其过去式和过去分词均为heard。
e.g.
Can you hear me?
We heard a lot about him on the Silk Road.
我们在丝绸之路上听说了很多关于他的事情。
listen, hear与sound
listen 意为“听”,是不及物动词,强调“听”的过程；
listen to… 表示“听……”；
hear 意为“听见,听到”,强调“听”的结果；
sound 意为“听起来”,是感官系动词,后接形容词作表语。
