第二部分
阅读理解(共两节,满分42.5)
第一节(共12小题:每小题2.5分,满分30分)
请认真阅读下列短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项,并在答题纸上将该项涂黑。
A
When
I
was
only
3
years
old,
my
mother
taught
me
to
memorize
and
recite
poems.
She
was
my
first
teacher
of
the
arts,
and
my
father
was
the
first
to
appreciate
my
performance.
Even
at
that
young
age,
I
had
a
simple
understanding
of
how
art
and
culture
affect
us
as
human
beings
and
how
we
can
connect
to
each
other
through
the
arts,
which
shapes
my
life
to
this
day.
When
I
was
growing
up,
my
parents
supported
my
interest
in
taking
acting
classes
and
doing
community
theater.
Their
faith
in
me
and
the
professional
training
I
was
getting
from
my
theater
teachers
gave
me
a
sense
of
purpose
and
a
sense
of
self-confidence.
I
learned
what
artistic
achievement
actually
was
and
what
hard
work
the
business
was.
Although
many
people
see
the
rosy
picture
to
our
business,
I
was
really
learning
what
it
would
require
for
me
to
become
a
professional.
I
became
an
actress,
but
arts
education
isn’t
just
about
preparing
our
young
people
for
a
job
in
the
arts.
I
recently
talked
to
some
of
the
kids
attending
theater
education.
Some
of
them
want
to
work
in
theater,
and
some
don’t.
They
are
learning
not
only
theater
skills,
but
also
about
the
world
around
them.
They
learn
about
discipline(纪律)
and
hard
work
and
what’s
required
and
what
they
have
to
do
to
bring
themselves
to
the
work.
They
learn
how
they
can
be
of
service
in
the
world
through
the
arts.
They
learn
how
to
work
with
a
team.
By
studying
the
arts,
these
students
are
open
to
worlds
and
lives
that
they
might
not
have
any
other
way
of
knowing
about
or
any
other
way
to
connect
with
in
their
lives
the
way
they
are
right
now.
These
young
people
are
our
future.
We
are
passing
the
torch
to
them.
And
I
think
that’s
one
of
the
most
important
reasons
why
we
need
to
foster(培养)
the
arts.
21.
When
the
writer
was
3
years
old,
she
______.
A.
learned
many
kinds
of
arts
B.
did
well
kin
communication
C.
had
a
deep
understanding
of
arts
D.
recited
poems
to
her
father
22.
What
does
the
underlined
word
“rosy”
in
Paragraph
2
probably
mean?
A.
funny.
B.
bright.
C.
terrible
D.
hopeless.
23.
According
to
Paragraph
3,
which
of
the
following
statements
is
TRUE?
A.
Discipline
and
hard
work
are
not
included
in
arts
education.
B.
Students
studying
the
arts
should
travel
around
the
world.
C.
Attending
theatre
education
does
the
kids
much
good.
D.
Arts
education
can
only
prepare
the
youth
for
jobs
in
the
arts.
24.
What
is
the
text
mainly
about?
A.
Where
to
get
arts
education
B.
When
kids
should
learn
arts.
C.
How
to
improve
arts
education.
D.
Why
arts
education
counts.
B
People
from
East
Asia
tend
to
have
more
difficulty
than
those
from
Europe
in
distinguishing
facial
expressions--and
a
new
report
published
online
in
Current
Biology
explains
why.
Rachael
Jack,
University
of
Glasgow
researcher,
said
that
rather
than
scanning
evenly(均匀的)
across
a
face
as
Westerners
do,
Easterners
fix
their
attention
on
the
eyes.
“We
show
that
Easterners
and
Westerners
look
at
different
face
features
to
read
facial
expressions,”
Jack
said.
“Westerners
look
at
the
eyes
and
the
mouth
in
equal
measure,
whereas
Easterners
favor
the
eyes
and
neglect
(忽略)
the
mouth.”
According
to
Jack
and
her
colleagues,
the
discovery
shows
that
human
communication
of
emotion
is
more
complex
than
previously
believed.
As
a
result,
facial
expressions
that
had
been
considered
universally
recognizable
cannot
be
used
to
reliably
convey
emotion
in
cross-cultural
situations.
The
researchers
studied
cultural
differences
in
the
recognition
of
facial
expressions
by
recording
the
eye
movements
of
13
Western
Caucasian
and
13
East
Asian
people
while
they
observed
pictures
of.
expressive
faces
and
put
them
into
categories:
happy,
sad,
surprised,
fearful,
disgusted,
angry,
or
neutral.
They
compared
how
accurately
participants
read
those
facial
expressions
using
their
particular
eye
movement
strategies.
It
turned
out
that
Easterners
focused
much
greater
attention
on
the
eyes
and
made
significantly
more
errors
than
did
Westerners.
"The
cultural
difference
in
eye
movements
that
they
show
is
probably
a
reflection
of
cultural
difference
in
facial
expressions,"
Jack
said.
"Our
data
suggest
that
whereas
Westerners
use
the
whole
face
to
convey
emotion,
Easterners
use
the
eyes
more
and
mouth
less."
In
short,
the
data
show
that
facial
expressions
are
not
universal
signals
of
human
emotion.
From
here
on,
examining
how
cultural
factors
have
diversified(多样性)
these
basic
social
skills
will
help
our
understanding
of
human
emotion.
Otherwise,
when
communicating
emotions
across
cultures,
Easterners
and
Westerners
will
find
themselves
lost
in
translation.
25.
The
discovery
shows
that
Westerners
___________
A.
consider
facial
expressions
universally
reliable
B.
pay
equal
attention
to
the
eyes
and
the
mouth
C.
observe
the
eyes
and
the
mouth
in
different
ways
D.
have
more
difficulty
in
recognizing
facial
expressions
26.
What
were
the
people
asked
to
do
in
the
study?
A.??To
classify
some
face
pictures.
B.
To
get
their
faces
impressive.
C.??To
make
a
face
at
each
other.
D.
To
observe
the
researchers'
faces.
27.
In
comparison
with
Westerners,
Easterners
are
likely
to
___________
A.
do
translation
more
successfully
B.
examine
the
eyes
more
attentively
C.
study
the
mouth
more
frequently
D.

A
complaint
was
received
by
the
president
of
a
major
car
company:“This
is
the
fourth
time
I
have
written
to
you
,
and
I
don’t
blame
you
for
not
answering
me
because
must
sound
crazy,
but
it
is
a
fact
that
we
have
a
tradition
in
our
family
of
having
ice-cream
for
dessert
after
dinner
each
night.
Every
night
after
we’ve
eaten,
the
family
votes
on
which
flavor(味道)of
ice-cream
we
should
have
and
I
drive
down
to
the
store
to
get
it.
I
recently
purchased
a
new
Pantsmobile
from
your
company
and
since
then
my
trips
to
the
store
have
created
a
problem.
You
see,
every
time
I
buy
vanilla(香草)ice-cream
my
car
won’t
start.
If
I
get
any
other
kind
of
ice-cream
,
the
car
starts
just
fine.
I
want
you
to
t
now
I’m
serious
about
this
question
,
no
matter
how
silly
it
sounds:
What
is
there
about
a
Pantsmobile
that
makes
it
not
start
when
I
get
vanilla
ice-cream,
and
easy
to
start
whenever
I
get
any
other
kind?’
The
Pantsmobile
company
president
understandably
doubted
about
the
letter,
but
he
sent
an
engineer
there
anyway.
The
engineer
had
arranged
to
meet
the
man
just
after
dinner
time,
so
the
two
got
into
the
car
and
drove
to
the
grocery
store.
The
man
bought
vanilla
ice-cream
that
night
and
sure
enough,
after
they
came
back
to
the
car
it
wouldn’t
start
for
several
minutes.
The
engineer
returned
for
three
more
nights.
The
first
night,
the
man
got
chocolate.
The
car
started
right
away.
The
second
night
,
he
got
strawberry
and
again
the
car
started
right
up.
The
third
night
he
bought
vanilla
and
the
car
failed
to
start.
There
must
be
a
reason
why
the
man’s
car
wouldn’t
start
when
he
bought
vanilla
ice-cream.
What
was
it?
After
doing
more
research
into
the
case,
the
engineer
eventually
found
out.The
cause.
Vanilla
ice-cream
was
the
most
popular
flavor
and
was
on
display
in
a
little
case
near
the
express
check
out,
while
the
other
flavors
were
in
the
back
of
the
store
and
took
more
time
to
choose
and
check
out.
This
mattered
because
the
man’s
car
was
experiencing
vapor(蒸汽)
lock,
which
is
excess(过度的)heat
boiling
the
fuel
in
the
fuel
line
and
the
resulting
air
bubbles
(气泡)
blocking
the
flow
of
fuel
until
the
car
has
enough
time
to
cool.
When
the
car
was
running,
there
was
enough
pressure
to
move
the
bubbles
along
,
but
not
when
the
car
was
trying
to
start.

七选五短文填空(共5小题,每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
The
Winner’s
Guide
to
Success?
How
do
successful
people
think?
What
helps
them
to
make
success?
To
find
out
the
answers,
an
American
scholar
recently
visited
some
of
the
most
successful
people
in
America.
???33??
Be
responsible
for
yourself?
Sometimes
you
may
want
to
blame(责备)
others
for
your
failure
to
get
ahead.
?34???
You’re
saying,
“You
have
more
control
over
my
life
than
I
do.”?
Live
life
“on
purpose”?
Almost
all
successful
people
live
life
“on
purpose”—
they
are
doing
what
they
believe
they
should
and
want
to
do.
When
you
live
your
life
on
purpose,
you’ll
try
your
best
to
do
your
job
or
study
as
well
as
you
can.
You
love
what
you
do
and
you
can
find
pleasure
in
what
you
do.?
Write
a
plan?
It
is
very
difficult
trying
to
get
what
you
want
without
a
good
plan.
????35???
A
good
plan
is
like
a
map
to
you.
Without
this
“map”,
you
may
waste
your
time,
money
and
also
your
energy;
while
with
the
“map”
you’ll
enjoy
the
“trip”
and
get
what
you
want
in
the
shortest
possible
time.?
Be
willing
to
pay
the
price?
Nothing
great
is
easy
to
get.
So
you
must
be
ready
to
work
hard
—
even
harder
than
you
have
ever
done.
If
you
are
not
willing
to
pay
the
price,
you
won’t
get
anything
valuable.?
Never
give
up?
?
36???
When
you
are
doing
something,
you
must
tell
yourself
again
and
again:
Giving
up
is
worse
than
failure
because
failure
can
be
the
mother
of
success,
but
giving
up
means
the
death
of
hope.
??37???
Once
an
American
writer
was
writing
a
novel.
He
could
not
have
a
good
ending
for
his
book
until
one
night
when
he
had
a
very
good
idea.
He
was
so
excited
that
he
made
a
phone
call
to
one
of
his
best
friends.
“I’ve
got
a
perfect
idea,”
he
said,
“I’ll
put
it
down
later
and
show
it
to
you.”
But
he
never
did,
because
he
died
that
night.
His
book
was
left
without
a
perfect
ending.
So
remember,
do
what
you
can
right
away.
Never

第三部分
概要写作(满分25分)
阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。
The
“Pygmalion
effect”(皮格马利翁效应)
is
a
finding
that
people
will
act
or
behave
in
the
way
that
others
expect
them
to.
The
effect
has
both
good
and
bad
influences
----a
person
expected
by
others
to
succeed
will,
but
the
opposite
is
also
usually
true.
Most
of
the
time,
these
expectations
are
not
openly
discussed.
They
are
shown
through
things
like
word
choice
or
body
language.
The
effect
is
most
commonly
discussed
in
terms
of
education
and
the
workplace.
The
Pygmalion
effect
comes
from
a
Greek
fairy
tale.
Pygmalion
was
a
king
and
sculptor(雕刻家)
who
created
and
fell
in
love
with
a
statue(雕塑)
of
his
dream
woman.
He
begged
the
goddess
Venus
to
give
life
to
his
creation,
and
she
agreed.
Pygmalion
married
the
woman
and
they
had
a
perfect
life
together.
He
had
expected
the
statue
to
be
perfect
in
every
way,
and
she
satisfied
all
his
expectations.
George
Bernard
Shaw
was
an
Irish
who
wrote
plays.
He
wrote
a
play
Pygmalion,
which
served
as
the
inspiration(灵感)
for
My
Fair
Lady.
In
these
plays,
a
professor
changes
a
low-class
woman
into
a
lady
primarily
by
believing
in
her
and
expecting
the
best
of
her.
The
Pygmalion
effect
has
been
studied
in
education.
Teachers
who
are
given
information
that
certain
students
are
more
likely
to
stand
out
than
other
students
often
find
that
those
do
perform
better----even
if
they
are
not
really
advantaged.
Even
teachers
who
try
not
to
show
their
expectations
for
certain
students
often
find
that
those
expectations
have
influential
power.
The
Pygmalion
effect
also
has
an
important
role
in
the
working
world.
Leaders
in
a
company
can
often
influence
the
work
and
success
of
staff
by
expecting
them
to
either
rise
or
fall.
The
same
as
in
school,
these
expectations
never
have
to
be
shown
clearly
in
order
to
take
root.

作文
Online
shopping
has
been
gaining
popularity
in
the
recent
years.
But
what
are
the
advantages
and
disadvantages
of
it?
Obviously,
online
shopping
has
a
number
of
advantages.
To
begin
with,
it’s
a
convenient
way
to
purchase
goods.
People
can
buy
things
without
going
out.
Moreover,
goods
online
are
usually
sold
at
lower
prices
than
in
conventional
stores.
Last
but
not
least,
you
can
see
other
customers’
comments,
which
can
help
you
make
choices.
Nevertheless,
as
every
coin
has
two
sides,
shopping
online
also
has
disadvantages.
For
one
thing,
it
is
very
hard
to
tell
whether
the
goods
are
fake
or
not.
For
another,
customers
lose
some
pleasure
of
shopping
because
they
can’t
try
or
check
the
goods
before
buying
them.
Additionally,
it’s
not
safe
to
pay
online.
Your
passwords
can
be
stolen.
As
for
me,
the
advantages
of
online
shopping
outweigh
its
disadvantages.
We
should
learn
to
make
the
best
use
of
it
and
prevent
losses.
