Revision Unit 3 Food and Meals
Part I. Analysis of the teaching material (教材分析)
This is the third unit , it is very important. It reviews last lessons and it will be a basic of the next lessons. This unit is mainly about food and meals. It is includes six lessons . Lesson 13. I抦 hungry! Lesson 14 Would you like some soup? Lesson 15 What抯 your Favourite food? Lesson 16. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.Lesson17, What抯 for Breakfast? Lesson 18. The Magic Stone.
This unit is related to our daily life, so it can arouse the students interest to learn English and it can improve their co-operation and speaking skills.
Part II. Analysis of the students (学情分析)
The students are in Grade 3 in primary school now, they are very young and active. They have learned English for only one term. and they have grasped some English knowledge, However, the students' ability of using English is limited. They have interest to learn English and they are willing to co-operate and communicate with others in class. Therefore, all of these will be taken into consideration in today's teaching.
Part III. Teaching key points and difficult points (教学重难点)
The key points of this lesson are to help the students listen, read and write the new phrases and sentences.
The difficult points of this lesson are use the new phrases and the sentences correctly .
Part IV. Teaching aims(教学目标)
According to the New Curriculum Standard and the reality of my students. I design my teaching aims. There are three points in my teaching aims:
First, Knowledge and skill objectives:
I want to enable the students to listen, read and write the new word and ask them to make new dialogues abut food and meals.
Second, Process and method objectives:
I want to develop the students' abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. And I also want to train the students' abilities of communication in the real situation .
Third, Emotional and attitude objectives:
I want to educate my students to '' Enjoy food and enjoy health '' .
Part V. Teaching and learning methods (教学方法)
In this lesson, I’ll use the Audio-Visual Method to establish a real scene and the interaction between the teacher and the students.
I’m going to use the Communicative Method to improve the students’ co-operation and speaking skills.
And I’ll use the Task-based Method to offer the students an opportunity to complete the tasks in which students use language to achieve a specific outcome.
At the same time, during the teaching process, the modern electricity teaching equipment and all kinds of teaching means will be used, it can mobilize the students' enthusiasm and creativity in learning English.
Part VI. Teaching procedures(教学过程)
According to the New Curriculum Standard and the reality of my students, I design my teaching procedures. Next, I’m mainly talk about them. I’ll divided my students into 4 groups and ask them to have a competition in class .
Step 1. Warm-up. (5 minutes)
1.I抣l greet to my students and I will show the students the learning aims of this lesson and divide them into four groups and ask them to have a competition. The learning aims of this lesson is :
2. I'll sing a song with my students, and the song is "Eat and Drink " It can rise the students enthusiasm to learn English and it is a basic of the next parts.
(Justification: These activities can make the class active and review the words of this unit .)
Step 2. Revision . (20 minutes)
1. I'll review the pronunciation of the letters Hh, Ww, Rr, and Uu.
2. Then I will ask my students to play the game “Whack- a- mole” to review the food.
3. After seeing the pictures of food , I will train my students to practice the sentences :----- What抯 your favourite food ?---- My favourite is ....
4. I will ask my students to watch a video them to listen to practice the sentences of this unit.
5. I will ask my students to read the text of this video.
6. I will ask my students to train the sentence pattern : 揑n the morning , I have breakfast. Then I go to school .
7. With the words morning / afternoon / evening I will play a game to practice the greeting with a clock.
8. I will give my students the useful new sentences of this unit , and ask them to make their own dialogues about food and meals.
9. I will ask the students to show their new dialogues.
(Justification: These activities can help the students to review and learn the new sentences of this unit .)
Step 3.Consolidation. (10 minutes)
1. I'll ask my students to divide the words into different kinds with a picture of a balloon , this part can help the students consolidate the word in this unit.
2. I'll ask the students to listen to four sentences and ask them to circle the pictures that they hear.
3. I will ask the students to draw what they like to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. After drawing I’ll ask my students to show their answers :
I like _____ , ______ and ______ for breakfast .
I like _____ , ______ and ______ for lunch .
I like _____ , ______ and ______ for dinner .
(Justification: These activities can help the students consolidate the phrases and sentences in this unit. And this can improve their co-operation and speaking skills.)
Step 4 Emotion education (1 minutes)

I’ll ask my students to summarize what we have learned today .
(Justification: The summery will make the students know what we have learned today clearly.)
Step 6. Congratulate the winners and encourage the losers. (1 minute)
Step 7. Homework (1 minute)
1. Use the sentences we have learned today to make a new dialogue with your partner .
2. Ask your two friends about their three meals that they like.
