B
They
were
a
happy
family:
four
daughters
all
in
the
same
school
in
different
grades.
The
youngest,
Janice,
who
was
in
my
class,
seemed
to
be
glued
to
her
mother’s
skirts.
The
three
older
girls
took
the
bus
to
school
every
morning,
but
Janice
was
always
driven
to
school
by
her
mother.
One
Friday,
Janice’s
mother
asked
for
a
talk
with
me.
She
said
in
a
soft
voice,
“My
husband
is
going
to
Europe
on
business
for
two
weeks,
and
he
insists
that
I
go
with
him.
I
have
tried
to
explain
over
and
over
that
Janice
needs
me
here.
But
he
thinks
that
she
will
be
fine
without
me
so
I
have
no
choice;
I
have
to
go.
I
have
told
the
babysitter
to
drive
her
every
morning.
Will
you
please
give
Janice
special
attention
and
help
her?
I
want
to
be
sure
everything
goes
well
for
her.”
I
told
her
that
we
would
make
every
effort
to
support
Janice.
I
even
volunteered
to
meet
Janice
at
her
car
so
she
would
see
a
familiar
face.
As
a
mother
myself,
I’d
like
to
help.
Janice’s
mother
thanked
me
for
our
understanding.
On
Monday
morning,
expecting
a
tearful,
anxious
child,
I
planned
a
special
program
of
fun
and
games.
I
waited
outside
to
greet
Janice,
but
just
then
the
bus
arrived
and
not
three,
but
four
girls
got
off.
Janice
skipped
along
joyfully,
saying
“goodbye”
to
her
sisters
as
she
ran
with
two
friends
into
the
classroom.
I
walked
slowly
into
the
classroom
and
called
Janice
over
to
ask
how
the
bus
ride
went.
Impatiently
she
said,
“Oh,
I
always
want
to
take
the
bus
with
the
other
kids,
but
Mother
needs
to
be
with
me.
You
see
there
won’t
be
any
more
babies,
so
I
have
to
be
a
baby
a
little
longer.
While
she
is
away,
I’ll
just
ride
the
bus
every
day.
I
am
five,
you
know.
24.
Why
did
Janice’s
mother
want
to
have
a
talk
with
the
author?

Janice
with
her
homework.
B.
To
ask
her
to
pick
up
Janice
every
day.

ask
her
to
give
Janice
more
attention.
D.
To
ask
her
to
meet
Janice
at
her
car.
25.
What
did
the
author
not
do
for
Janice?
A.
Plan
a
special
program
of
fun
and
games.
B.
Wait
for
her
outside
the
school.
C.
Greet
her
when
she
got
off
the
bus.
D.
Ask
about
her
bus
ride.
26.
What
did
Janice
look
like
on
Monday
morning?
A.
She
was
tearful
and
anxious.
B.
She
was
worried
about
her
mother.
C.
She
missed
her
mother
very
much.
D.
She
was
happy
rather
than
sad.
27.
What
do
we
know
from
the
passage?
A.
Janice
is
too
young
to
go
to
school
by
bus.
B.
Janice
likes
taking
the
bus
to
school.
C.
Janice
doesn’t
like
her
babysitter.
D.
Janice
is
no
longer
a
child.
C
You
try
to
keep
your
eyes
wide
open
while
watching
a
basketball
match
or
a
wonderful
firework
show
in
case
you
might
miss
something
exciting
in
just
the
blink
(眨眼)
of
an
eye.
But
in
fact,
humans
blink
about
15
times
per
minute
on
average.
Have
you
ever
missed
anything
because
you
blinked?
Probably
not.
Why
is
that?
According
to
a
new
study
published
in
the
journal
Current
Biology
in
September,
our
brain
has
the
ability
to
skip
the
temporary
darkness
when
we
blink.
It
can
keep
visual
information
for
a
short
period
of
time
and
then
put
it
together
to
form
an
image
without
interruption.
In
order
to
understand
how
this
works,
a
group
of
scientists
at
the
German
Primate
Center
and
the
University
Medical
Center
Go..ttingen
in
Germany
conducted
an
experiment.
In
the
study,
the
participants
were
asked
to
look
at
patterns
on
a
screen
whose
direction
could
be
interpreted
in
different
ways,
such
as
horizontally
or
vertically.
When
one
pattern
was
about
to
disappear
and
the
next
one
was
about
to
come,
the
participants
had
to
indicate
the
direction
that
the
next
pattern
would
appear.
The
researchers
found
that
when
the
directions
of
two
patterns
didn’t
match,
the
area
in
our
brain
which
is
responsible
for
visual
memory
was
activated.
This
same
area
showed
less
activity
when
two
patterns
were
in
the
same
direction.
“The
medial
prefrontal
cortex
(前额叶皮层)
adjusts
current
visual
information
with
previously
obtained
information,
and
thus
enables
us
to
perceive
(察觉)
the
world
with
more
stability,
even
when
we
briefly
close
our
eyes
to
blink,”
Caspar
Schwiedrzik
explained
in
Science
Daily.
He
is
the
first
author
of
the
study
and
also
a
scientist
at
the
German
Primate
Center.
28.

don’t
miss
anything
when
blinking
because
our
brain
can
________.
A.
deal
with
the
missing
image
B.
remember
all
that
we
see
C.
imagine
what
our
eyes
miss
D.
put
our

does
the
underlined
word
“it”

refer
to?
A.
Our
brain.
B.
Visual
information.
C.
Current
Biology.
D.
The
temporary
darkness.
30.
What
do
we
know
about
the
experiment?

Visual
memory
can
be
more
activated
by
similarity.
C.
Participants
can
interpret
patterns
differently.

A
Swiss
airplane
powered
only
by
energy
from
the
sun
left
from
Abu
Dhabi
early
on
March
9.
Its
creators
hope
the
plane
will
make
the
first
around-the-world
journey
without
any
fuel.
The
plane
is
called
Solar
Impulse
2.
It
has
one
seat
and
is
made
from
carbon
fiber.
The
plane
weighs
only
as
much
as
a
car
but
its
wings
are
wider
than
a
Boeing
747.
The
plane’s
wings
stretch
72
meters
across.
Those
wings
include
17,000
solar
units,
or
cells,
which
capture
the
sun’s
energy.
The
energy
allows
the
plane
to
fly
day
and
night.
Two
Swiss
scientists
built
the
plane.
Bertrand
Piccard
is
also
an
explorer
who
made
the
first
non-stop
flight
around
the
world
in
a
balloon.
Andre
Borschberg
is
an
engineer
and
trained
fighter
pilot.
The
scientists
say
they
are
not
trying
to
alter
the
airplane
industry.
Instead,
they
want
to
show
that
new
energy
sources
and
technologies
can
achieve
what
some
say
is
impossible.
“We
want
to
show
we
can
fly
day
and
night
in
an
aircraft
without
a
drop
of
fuel.”
Mr.
Piccard
said.
Some
parts
of
the
trip
will
require
the
pilots
to
be
in
the
tiny
plane
for
five
to
six
days
and
nights
in
a
row.
So
it
is
good
that
the
pilot’s
seat
is
also
a
toilet.
The
plane’s
route
begins
in
the
United
Arab
Emirates.
The
pilots
also
plan
stops
in
Oman,
India,
and
China.
They
will
cross
the
Pacific
Ocean,
stop
in
the
United
States,
and
continue
over
southern
Europe
or
North
Africa.
They
plan
to
arrive
back
in
the
United
Arab
Emirates
in
late
July
or
early
August.
Internet
viewers
can
go
to
the
Solar
Impulse
website
to
see
the
plane’s
location
and
listen
to
broadcasts
from
the
pilots.
32.
Why
does
the
plane
have
wider
wings?
A.
It
can
fly
faster
and
land
safely.
B.
It
can
get
the
sun’s
energy
easily.
C.
It
may
look
like
a
Boeing
747.
D.
It
will
make
the
plane
appear
larger.
33.
What
does
the
underlined
word
“alter”
in
Para.
2
probably
mean?
A.
Improve.
B.
change.
C.
rebuild.
D.
destroy.
34.
What
do
we
know
about
the
trip
made
in
the

B.
It
is

C.
It
is
broadcast
live
on
the
Internet.
D.
It
doesn’t
include
North
America.
35.
What
does
the
text
mainly
talk
about?
A.
A
solar-powered
plane
will
travel
the
globe.
B.
A
good
way
to
save
energy
has
been
found.
C.

When
I
became
CEO

I

one
thing

I’ve

41
public
speaking
because
I
never
thought
I

it
very
well.
But
in

I

As

Bob,

49
me.

the

I’ve
54
that.
I
now

.
I
spend
a
long
time
perfecting
the
presentation
before
I
ever
stand
in
front
of
a

to
deliver
it.
When
I
take
the

first
to

I’ll
end
up
with
a
much
better,
more
finished
product.

There
once
was
an
old
man,
a
very
honest
shopkeeper,
who
wanted
to
retire
(退休)
to
enjoy
the
rest
of
his
life.
As
a
shopkeeper,
his
day-today
business
was
to
provide
goods
to
the
local
people.
He
usually
opened
his
shop
at
8:00
a.m.
after
having
his
breakfast
and
at
1:00
p.m.
he
went
for
lunch.
In
the
evening
at
8:30
p.m.
he
closed
his
shop
to
complete
his
daily
routine.
However,
getting
time
for
lunch
was
really
difficult
because
he
didn’t
have
anybody
help
him
at
that
time.
Therefore,
it
was
his
daily
practice
that
whichever
customer
was
shopping
at
1:00
p.m.
would
be
asked
to
oversee
(看管)
the
shop
until
the
shopkeeper
returned
from
lunch.
This
system
of
having
a
customer
oversee
the
shop
at
lunchtime
quickly
became
known
to
thieves
of
the
area.
One
day,
a
group
of
four
thieves
planned
to
steal
from
his
shop
while
he
was
going
for
lunch.
One
of
the
thieves,
pretending
to
be
a
customer,
went
into
the
shop
at
1:00
p.m.
and
started
purchasing(买)
several
items.
As
usual,
the
shopkeeper
asked
the
thief
to
sit
on
his
chair
for
thirty
minutes
until
he
returned
from
lunch.
The
thief
agreed
and
the
shopkeeper
left.
Then,
the
other
three
thieves
quickly
came
in
and
began
to
steal
things.
They
told
the
fake
customer
to
help
them
steal
as
well.
But
suddenly
the
man
who
pretended
to
be
the
customer
changed
his
mind
and
he
no
longer
wanted
to
join
his
fellow
thieves
in
the
robbery.
When
he
sat
on
the
chair
of
the
shopkeeper,
he
was
deeply
moved
by
the
shopkeeper’s
trust
in
him.
He
knew
that
if
he
was
given
responsibility
for
the
shop,
he
should
not
perform
any
dishonest
acts
during
that
time.

可知,在旅游手册上可以看到关于冒险活动的介绍。
B篇:
本文是一篇记叙文。他们是一个幸福的家庭:四个女儿都在同一所学校不同年级。三个大一点的女孩每天早上乘公共汽车上学,但作者班最小的Janice总是由她妈妈开车去学校。后来Janice也坐车去上学,其实Janice喜欢乘公共汽车去学校,只是她的妈妈不让。
C。推理判断题。根据第二段中Will
you
please
give
Janice
special
attention
and
help
her?
I
want
to
be
sure
everything
goes
well
for
her.可知,Janice的妈妈想和作者谈谈是为了让她多注意Janice。
C。推理判断题。根据第四段中I
waited
outside
to
greet
Janice,
but
just
then
the
bus
arrived
and
not
three,
but
four
girls
got
off.
Janice
skipped
along
joyfully,
saying
“goodbye”
to
her
sisters
as
she
ran
with
two
friends
into
the
classroom.可知,珍妮丝下公共汽车时作者没有向她打招呼。
26
.D。推理判断题。根据第四段中Janice
skipped
along
joyfully,
saying
“goodbye”
to
her
sisters
as
she
ran
with
two
friends
into
the
classroom.可知,Janice星期一早上看起来高兴而不是悲伤。
27.
B。推理判断题。根据最后一段中Impatiently
she
said,
“Oh,
I
always
want
to
take
the
bus
with
the
other
kids,
but
Mother
needs
to
be
with
me.可知,Janice喜欢乘公共汽车去学校。
C篇:
本文是一篇说明文。研究发现眨眼并不会错过细节并解释了其原因。
28.
A。推理判断题。根据第二段第一句“According
to
a
new
study
published
in
the
journal
Current
Biology
in
September,
our
brain
has
the
ability
to
skip
the
temporary
darkness
when
we
blink.”可知,九月份发表在《当代生物学》杂志上的一项新研究表明,我们的大脑有能力跳过我们眨眼时形成的暂时黑暗。据此可推知,由于我们的大脑能处理丢失的图像,所以眨眼不会让我们错过任何东西,故A项正确。
29.
B。代词指代题。根据第二段第二句“It
can
keep
visual
information
for
a
short
period
of
time
and
then
put
it
together
to
form
an
image
without
interruption.”可知,大脑可以在短时间内保存视觉信息,然后将其组合在一起形成不中断的图像,故可推知,it指代上文中的“visual
information”,故B项正确。
30.
D。细节理解题。根据第四段中的“when
the
directions
of
two
patterns
didn’t
match,
the
area
in
our
brain
which
is
responsible
for
visual
memory
was
activated.
This
same
area
showed
less
activity
when
two
patterns
were
in
the
same
direction”可知,当两种模式的方向不一致时,掌握视觉记忆的大脑区域被激活;当两种模式在同一方向时,这个区域显示出较少的活动。据此可知,不同的方向能激活视觉记忆,故D项正确。
31.
C。标题归纳题。通读全文可知,本文主要介绍了一项科学研究。研究表明,眨眼不会错过细节并解释了其原因,即大脑有能力在短时间内保存视觉信息,然后将其组合在一起形成不中断的图像信息。故C项最适合作本文的标题。
D篇:
本文属于说明文阅读,作者通过这篇文章主要向我们描述了科学家们将新能源科技运用到飞机上制造太阳能飞机的实验。
B。细节理解题。根据第一段最后两句Those

cells,
which
capture
the
sun’s
energy.
The
energy
allows
the
plane
to
fly
day
and
night.可知,飞机有更宽的机翼是因为它可以很容易地获得太阳能。
B。词义猜测题。根据第二段中Instead,
they
want
to
show
that
new
energy
sources
and
technologies
can
achieve
what
some
say
is
impossible.(相反,他们想要证明,新能源和新技术可以实现一些人所说的不可能实现的目标。)可知“科学家们并没有试图改变航空业。”所以推知划线词的意思是“改变”。
C。推理判断题。根据最后一段Internet
viewers

go
to
the
Solar
Impulse
website
to
see
the
plane’s
location
and
listen
to
broadcasts
from
the
pilots.(互联网观众可以访问太阳能动力公司的网站,查看飞机的位置,并收听飞行员的广播。)可知,关于这次飞行,将在互联网上直播。
A。主旨大意题。根据第一段中A

in

You
might

Just
make
it
a

M:
In
a

I
nearly
melted
down
outside.
I
really
need
some
cool
air
now.

老掉牙的理论
W:
Mr.
Lee’s
marketing
class
is
so
inspiring,
don’t
you
think?
M:
Well,
always
the
same
old
stuff.
It’s
useless
to
apply
his
theory
into
practice
in
modern
business.

It

I

影响午休
M:
Take
a
seat,
Kate.
What
is
it?
W:
Hey,
Mr.
Smith.
Could
you
talk
to
Frank
sometime?
M:
What
seems
to
be
the
problem?
W:
Well,
it’s
just
that
Frank
likes
to
use
the
speaker
to
play
music
loud
during
our
lunch
break.
I
know
he
wants
to
make
the
atmosphere
in
our
office
more
cheerful,
but
it
kind
of
disturbs
my
rest.
I
really
need
to
sleep
to
restore
my
energy
before
I
start
working
again
in
the
afternoon.
M:
I
see.
But
why
don’t
you
tell
him
that
yourself?
W:
Well,
I
just
feel
a
little
embarrassed…
M:
Don’t
be.
Frank
is
very
easy-going.
Just
talk
to
him.
He’ll
make
the
change.

订机票
W:
Eastern
Airlines.
How
can
I
help
you?
M:
Hello,
I’d
like
to
make
a
reservation
to
Houston.
W:
Okay.
When
do
you
want
to
fly,
sir?
M:
Next
Monday,
January,
14th.
W:
Wait
a
moment,
please.
We
have
flight
401
on
that
day,
but
we’ve
only
got
first
class
seats
left.
M:
How
much
does
it
cost?
W:
1,200
dollars,
sir.
M:
Any
alternatives?
W:
Well,
the
next
available
one
is
flight
502.
It
leaves
at
7:30
a.m.
one
day
later.
And
the
business
class
ticket
for
the
flight
is
950
dollars.
M:
Still
too
expensive.
What
about
the
economy
class
seat
of
the
flight?
W:
750
dollars.
M:
That
sounds
more
reasonable.
I
want
one
ticket.
Thank
you.
W:
Okay,
sir.

W:
What
should
we
get
for
Lily’s
birthday?
M:
How
about
running
shoes?
W:
You
know
she’s
never
into
sports.
M:
That’s
exactly
why
a
pair
of
running
shoes
would
be
a
perfect
gift.
I
often
see
her
classmates
Rose
and
Mary
run
in
the
morning.
She
should
do
the
same.
W:
But
Lily
always
feels
breathless
after
running.
M:
She
feels
breathless
because
she
is
overweight.
W:
Hey,
never
say
that
in
front
of
our
girl.
You’ll
hurt
her
feelings.
Anyway,
my
colleague
Sue
told
me
Wanda
Shopping
Center
has
been
promoting
many
products
recently.
Maybe
we
could
go
there
this
afternoon
to
see
if
we
could
find
a
nice
present.
M:
I’ll
pass.
There’s
a
football
match
on
TV
this
afternoon.
I
wouldn’t
miss
it
for
the
world.
W:
Alright.
Do
as
you
like.
I’m
not
counting
on
you
anyway.

Mr.
Anderson
will

at
10:00

We’ve
only
got
40
minutes
to

before
his

M:
You
can’t

what
I
just
went
through
this
morning!
I
was
visited
by
the
police.
W:
What
happened?
I
heard
there
have
been
some
break-ins
in
the
area
you
live.
M:
It’s
all
because
of
my
neighbor
Mrs.
White.
W:
Why?
Did
you
quarrel
with
her?
M:
No.
I
was
cooking
Chinese
medicine
for
my
mom
at
home,
and
Mrs.
White
smelled
it
and
thought
someone
was
doing
dangerous
chemistry
experiment.
W:
So
she
called
the
police?
M:
Yeah,
and
I
had
to
explain
to
the
police
what
Chinese
medicine
was.
Geez!
W:
Bad
luck.
Anyway,
you’d
better
go
over
the
documents
I
put
on
your
desk.
We
must
make
sure
Mr.
Anderson
will
sign
the
contract
with
us
today.
M:
Okay.
Can
you
get
me
a
glass
of
water?
I’m
dying
of
thirst.
W:
Sure.

小确幸
W:
Last
year,
I
went
to
China
as
an
exchange
student.
Mrs.
Zhang,
one
of
my
father’s
Chinese
business
partners
became
my
caretaker,
but
she
was
very
busy,
so
basically
I
had
to
take
care
of
myself
while
I
was
not
at
school.
At
the
second
day
after
my
arrival,
I
went
to
a
supermarket
searching
for
basic
food
stuffs.
Only
then
did
I
realize
my
12-week
stay
in
China
was
going
to
be
tough

everything
was
in
Chinese.
I
managed
to
find
bread,
salad
and
ham,
however,
I
just
couldn’t
locate
the
whereabouts
of
the
thing
I
was
dying
of

tomato
sauce.
What’s
worse,
hardly
could
anybody
understand
what
I
was
trying
to
ask.
I
was
almost
on
the
edge
of
crying.
Then,
a
woman
approached
me
and
asked
me
if
everything
was
okay
by
using
hand
gestures.
I
asked
her
where
I
could
find
tomato
sauce,
but
she
didn’t
know
English,
either.
Then,
she
dialed
a
number
on
her
cellphone
and
passed
it
to
me

It
was
her
son.
He
talked
to
me
in
English
and
asked
me
what
I
needed.
He
then
translated
that
back
to
his
mother
and
she
took
me
to
the
section.
In
a
strange
place,
if
someone
tries
to
do
even
this
much
for
you,
it
is
enough
in
taking
a
leap
of
faith.
