Make
the
Best
of
a
Bad
Situation
Since
Covid-19
spreads
all
over
the
world,
many
people
have
to
stay
indoors
and
work
from
home.
For
most
of
us,
it
greatly
challenges
our
lives
and
brings
boredom.
But
for
a
few
people,
working
at
home
brings
more
creativity.
Here
are
three
famous
historical
figures
who
let
their
creativity
flow
during
past
pandemics.
Giovanni
Boccaccio
(1313-1375)
When
a
plague
(瘟疫)
hit
Florence
in
1348,
Italian
writer
Giovanni
Boccaccio
lost
his
father
and
stepmother.
In
order
to
survive,
he
left
the
city
and
hid
in
the
countryside.
Inspired
by
the
experience,
Boccaccio
wrote
The
Decameron
(《十日谈》),
a
collection
of
short
novels
framed
as
stories
told
by
a
group
of
friends,
while
he
was
quarantined
(隔离)
inside
a
house
during
the
plague.
William
Shakespeare
(1564-1616)
In
the
early
17th
century,
a
plague
hit
London,
UK.
When
the
number
of
deaths
grew,
the
government
postponed
many
celebrations
and
closed
all
the
theaters.
This
meant
that
the
entertainment
industry
at
the
time
was
paralyzed
(瘫痪)
for
much
of
1606.
As
an
actor
and
dramatist,
Shakespeare
had
to
stop
working
in
the
playhouse.
But
he
didn't
waste
a
second
of
his
time
off.
Instead,
he
used
the
time
productively
and
wrote
some
of
his
most
famous
plays.
Before
the
year
was
over,
Shakespeare
completed
three
plays—King
Lear,
Macbeth
and
Antony
and
Cleopatra.
Isaac
Newton
(1642-1727)
In
1665,
when
English
mathematician
Isaac
Newton
was
in
his
early
20s,
one
of
the
last
major
outbreaks
of
the
plague
hit
the
UK,
and
many
classes
were
canceled.
Newton,
as
a
student,
went
back
home
to
continue
his
studies.
He
devoted
himself
to
his
studies.
The
young
mathematician
produced
some
of
his
best
works
during
his
year
in
quarantine,
writing
the
papers
that
would
later
become
early
calculus
(微积分学),
and
developing
his
theories
on
physics
in
his
bedroom.
While
working,
an
apple
dropped
from
the
apple
tree
outside
his
window
and
hit
him
or
the
head,
which
may
inspired
his
theory
of
gravity.

Chinese
volleyball
superstar
Zhu
Ting
has
inspired
a
new
English
word.
"Stay
awesome
and
ZHUperb!"
wrote
a
blogger
at
a
US-based
volleyball
website.
The
word
combines
"Zhu"
and
"superb
(卓越的)",
to
describe
the
27-year-old
player.
Zhu's
excellent
scoring
performances
put
her
among
the
Top
10
Global
Outstanding
Athletes
for
this
year's
Heracles
Prize
of
the
Big
Ben
Award.
As
the
captain,
Zhu
"created
the
new
golden
age
of
women's
volleyball
in
China",
the
award
said.
Zhu
is
considered
a
national
hero
by
many
in
China,
with
good
reason.
Before
this
year's
World
Cup
victory,
she
helped
the
national
volleyball
team
win
the
2015
FIVB
World
Cup,
the
2015
Asian
Women's
Volleyball
Championship,
and
the
2016
Rio
Olympic
Games.
Although
she's
a
superstar
now,
it
hasn't
been
easy
for
Zhu
to
get
to
where
she
is.
Born
to
a
farming
family
in
Henan
province,
Zhu
earned
a
chance
to
attend
a
local
sports
school
at
age
13.
She
became
well
known
to
the
public
by
helping
China's
U20

win
the
2013
FIVB
U20

found
it
difficult
to
move
quickly
and
stay
balanced.
But
Lang
Ping
took
advantage
of
her
height
and
trained
her
to
jump
high
and
smash
balls.
Her
work
paid
off.
Zhu
is
now
an
outstanding
player.
"Hard
work
and
talent
are
equally
important.
I'll
move
forward
step
by
step,"
she
told
People's
Daily.
4.

was
"ZHUperb"
created?
A.
To
create
a
new
game.
B.
To
introduce
a
volleyball
website.
C.
To
describe
the
volleyball
superstar.
D.
To
celebrate
her
winning
of
World
Cup.
5.
What
does
paragraph

mainly
tell
us?
A.
Zhu
Ting's
training.
B.
Zhu
Ting's
personal
qualities.
C.
Zhu
Ting's
achievements.
D.
Zhu
Ting's
future

was
the
purpose
of
Lang
Ping's
plan
for
training
Zhu

A.
To
build
up
her
confidence.
B.
To
make
use

A
study
of
100
mobile
apps
for
kids
found
that
72
broke
a
law
aimed
at
protecting
children's
online
privacy.
Researchers
developed
a
tool
that
can
determine
whether
a
mobile
app
follows
the
Children's
Online
Privacy
Protection
Act(COPPA).
The
tool
was
99%right.
Researchers
continue
to
improve
the
technology,
which
they
plan
to
make
available
for
download
at
no
cost.
When
you
download
an
app,
it
can
get
a
lot
of
information
on
your
cellphone.
You
have
to
keep
in
mind
that
all
this
information
can
be
collected
by
these
apps
and
sent
to
third
parties.
What
do
they
do
with
it?
They
can
pretty
much
do
anything.
We
should
be
careful
about
this.
Apps
can
get
personal
identifiable
information,
including
names,
email
addresses,
phone
numbers,
locations,
audio
and
visual
recordings,
and
unique
identifiers
or
devices
such
as
an
international
mobile
equipment
identity(IMEI),
media
access
control(MAC)
addresses,
Android
IDs
and
Android
advertising
IDs.
The
advertising
ID,
for
example,
allows
app
developers
to
collect
information
on
user’s
interests,
which
they
can
then
sell
to
advertisers.
What's
worse,
games
and
other
apps
that
violate
COPPA
cause
privacy
risks
that
could
make
it
possible
for
someone
to
determine
a
child's
ID
and
location.
A
bad
man
could
probably
get
the
user's
email
ID
and
geographic
location
and
try
to
kidnap
the
child.
COPPA
requires
that
websites
and
online
services
directed
to
children
get
parental
agreement
before
collecting,
personal
information
from
anyone
younger
than
13;
however,
as
the
research
found,
many
popular
apps
do
not
follow
the
rule.
Researchers
found
that
many
popular
games
designed
specifically
for
young
children
showed
users’.
Android
IDs,
Android
advertising
IDs
and
device
descriptions.
Researchers
suggest
that
parents
should
be
careful
when
downloading
or
allowing
children
to
download
apps.
They
advise
keeping
downloads
to
a
minimum.
Don't
download
apps
unless
they
need
to.
8.
What
is
the
matter
with
most
mobile
apps
for
kids?
A.
They
lead
children
to
do
wrong.
B.
They
are
too
expensive
for
kids.
C.
They
collect
children's
private
information.
D.
They
are
too
difficult
to
operate.
9.
What
can
we
learn
about
the
testing
tool?
A.
It
will
be
put
online
for
sale.
B.
Parents
will
get
it
for
free.
C.
Apps
will
find
ways
to
deal
with
it.
D.
Researchers
will
give
it
up
after
the
study.
10.
What
will
apps
do
with
kids'
privacy?
A.
They
will
send
it
to
others.
B.
They
will
publish
it
online.
C.
They
will
keep
it
a
secret.
D.
They
will
use
it
in
social
surveys.
11.
What
is
the
researchers'
advice
to
parents
about
downloading
apps?
A.
Downloading
as
few
apps
as
possible.
B.
Downloading
as
many
apps
as
required.
C.
Downloading
no
apps
from
the
Internet.
D.
Downloading
apps
that
COPPA
identifies.

For
Deaf
People,
Face
Masks
with
Windows
Mean
More
Than
Smiles
For
the
last
few
months,
Michael
Conley
has
felt
very
alone.
Conley
is
a
deaf
man,
and
he
reads
lips
to
understand
what
people
are
saying
to
him.
However,
people
have
been
wearing
masks
to
help
slow
the
spread
of
COVID-19,
a
new
virus
that
spreads
from
person
to
person
when
infected
people
breathe
out
virus
particles
(颗粒).
People
who
are
deaf
and
hard
of
hearing
communicate
in
many
different
ways.
Some
might
learn
to
read
lips.
Many
people
also
use
American
Sign
Language
(ASL).
It
is
a
way
to
communicate
using
gestures
and
signs
for
people
who
are
deaf
and
hard
of
hearing.
For
both
reading
lips
and
ASL,
being
able
to
see
someone's
face
and
facial
expressions
is
critically
important.
Particularly
for
ASL,
facial
expressions
play
a
role
in
grammar
and
wording.
Helping
Lip
Readers
See
Mouths
Move
Conley
told
his
co-worker,
Chris
LaZich,
about
his
situation.
LaZich
asked
her
friend,
Helton,
for
help.
Ingrid
Helton
is
a
costume
designer
with
the
San
Diego
Opera.
She
makes
masks
with
plastic
windows
for
hearing
people
to
wear,
making
it
possible
for
lip
readers
to
see
mouths
move.
For
a
long
time,
lip
readers
have
struggled
to
understand
hospital
workers
who
wear
masks.
The
problem
has
only
gotten
worse
during
COVID-
19.
Many
interpreters
for
the
deaf
have
not
been
able
to
enter
hospitals
because
they
could
catch
the
virus.
More
Challenges
For
Deaf
People
Now,
more
people
are
wearing
masks
outside
of
hospitals,
too.
This
creates
even
more
challenges
for
deaf
people.
When
people
began
wearing
masks,
Conley
felt
cut
off
from
the
world.
Since
he
could
not
read
lips,
he
did
not
know
when
people
were
speaking
to
him
or
what
they
were
saying.
Conley
was
nervous
to
go
to
the
pharmacy
or
the
grocery
store.
Once,
he
felt
so
nervous
to
enter
his
favorite
restaurant
that
he
waited
outside
for
45
minutes.
He
did
not
know
what
he
would
do
if
a
masked
worker
asked
him
questions
about
his
order.
Luckily,
the
employee
recognized
him
and
pulled
down
her
mask
to
talk
to
Conley.
Conley
was
grateful
for
her
action.
Not
everyone
knows
Conley,
though,
and
would
not
know
he
is
deaf.
He
carries
pieces
of
paper
with
him
so
he
can
ask
people
to
write
what
they
are
saying.
This
way,
other
people
don't
have
to
remove
their
mask.
However,
it
also
means
touching
the
same
paper,
Touching
common
surfaces
can
spread
germs.
Spreading
germs
risks
contracting
COVID-19.
Because
of
that,
Conley
was
refused
service
many
times.
“It
makes
you
lose
your
confidence,”
said
Conley,
who
has
been
deaf
his
entire
life.
However,
Helton's
windowed
masks
helped
him
get
his
independence
back.
Conley
and
his
co-worker,
Chris
LaZich,
tried
out
the
masks
and
he
had
no
trouble
reading
LaZich's
lips.
12.

He
felt
it

As
parents,
we
must
teach
our

the
importance

value
of
honesty
from
an

However,
teaching
our

to
be
honest
isn't
the
same
as
teaching
them
to
tie
their
shoes.___16___
Otherwise,
they'll
prefer
to
lie
in
order
to
avoid
being
punished.
___17___
Lying
in
order
to
receive
objects
or
attention
are
two
main
ones.
Another
one
is
to
avoid
punishment
—
parents
should
be
careful
with
this
one.
Being
too
strict
can
result
in
children's
lying
more
often.
When
should
we
start
teaching
them
the
difference
between
lies
and
the
truth?
Children
under
the
age
of
3
don't
have
the
ability
to
understand
the
importance
of
values.
As
soon
as
they
turn
3,
however,
it's
important
for
parents
to
watch
carefully.
It
isn't
enough
for
parents
to
teach.
We
must
also
observe
our
child's
behavior.
___18___
Rewarding
children
can
be
a
great
motivation
for
their
learning.
___19___
This
will
help
create
a
trustful
environment
within
the
family.
At
the
same
time
we
shouldn't
let
our
children
hear
us
lying.
Parents
are
the
models
that
their
children
follow,
and
therefore
a
lot
will
depend
on
a
parent's
behavior.
As
our
children
grow
up,
it's
important
to
teach
them
the
value
of
honesty.
___20___
It's
important
for
them
to
realize
that
telling
lies
prevents
us
from
helping
them
in
the
most
appropriate
way.
A.
Let
them
understand
the
value
of
telling
the
truth.
B.
Even
if
we're
honest,
our
children
may
not
be
honest.
C.
This
will
allow
us
to
find
out
what
makes
the
child
lie.
D.
We
can't
correct
children's
behavior
through
punishment.
E.
They

Today
I’m

from
my

knowing
he's

China.
I'll
write
to
him
a
letter
about
his
journey.
Of
the
two
trips
to
the
Great
Wall
and
the
Palace
Museum,
both
are
good
choice.
Personally,
I
prefer
the
tour
to
the
Great
Wall.
As
is
known,
it
is
symbol
of
Chinese
civilization.
As
a
Chinese
saying
going,
“He
who
does

the
Great
Wall
is
not
a
true
man.”
By
visiting
it,
people
are
surely
to
have
a
good
knowledge
of
the
hard-working
Chinese
people.
Beside,
the
scenery
along
the
Great
Wall
is
amazing.
That's
because
I
think
the
trip
to
the
Great
Wall
will
be
a
good
choice.
Hopefully,
my

will
satisfy
your
need.

A
Make
the
Best
of
a
Bad
Situation
Since
Covid-19
spreads
all
over
the
world,
many
people
have
to
stay
indoors
and
work
from
home.
For
most
of
us,
it
greatly
challenges
our
lives
and
brings
boredom.
But
for
a
few
people,
working
at
home
brings
more
creativity.
Here
are
three
famous
historical
figures
who
let
their
creativity
flow
during
past
pandemics.
Giovanni
Boccaccio
(1313-1375)
When
a
plague
(瘟疫)
hit
Florence
in
1348,
Italian
writer
Giovanni
Boccaccio
lost
his
father
and
stepmother.
In
order
to
survive,
he
left
the
city
and
hid
in
the
countryside.
Inspired
by
the
experience,
Boccaccio
wrote
The
Decameron
(《十日谈》),
a
collection
of
short
novels
framed
as
stories
told
by
a
group
of
friends,
while
he
was
quarantined
(隔离)
inside
a
house
during
the
plague.
William
Shakespeare
(1564-1616)
In
the
early
17th
century,
a
plague
hit
London,
UK.
When
the
number
of
deaths
grew,
the
government
postponed
many
celebrations
and
closed
all
the
theaters.
This
meant
that
the
entertainment
industry
at
the
time
was
paralyzed
(瘫痪)
for
much
of
1606.
As
an
actor
and
dramatist,
Shakespeare
had
to
stop
working
in
the
playhouse.
But
he
didn't
waste
a
second
of
his
time
off.
Instead,
he
used
the
time
productively
and
wrote
some
of
his
most
famous
plays.
Before
the
year
was
over,
Shakespeare
completed
three
plays—King
Lear,
Macbeth
and
Antony
and
Cleopatra.
Isaac
Newton
(1642-1727)
In
1665,
when
English
mathematician
Isaac
Newton
was
in
his
early
20s,
one
of
the
last
major
outbreaks
of
the
plague
hit
the
UK,
and
many
classes
were
canceled.
Newton,
as
a
student,
went
back
home
to
continue
his
studies.
He
devoted
himself
to
his
studies.
The
young
mathematician
produced
some
of
his
best
works
during
his
year
in
quarantine,
writing
the
papers
that
would
later
become
early
calculus
(微积分学),
and
developing
his
theories
on
physics
in
his
bedroom.
While
working,
an
apple
dropped
from
the
apple
tree
outside
his
window
and
hit
him
or
the
head,
which
may
inspired
his
theory
of
gravity.

"Zhu"
and
"superb

to
describe
the
27-year-old
player.(这个词是“朱”和“卓越的”的组合,用来形容这位27岁的球员)”可知,"ZHUperb"这个词创造出来是用来形容朱婷这个排球巨星的。故选C。
【5题详解】
主旨大意题。根据第二段的首句“Zhu's
excellent
scoring
performances
put
her
among
the
Top
10
Global
Outstanding
Athletes
for
this
year's

【6题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段“She
became
well
known
to
the
public
by
helping
China's
U20

win
the
2013

C
A
study
of
100
mobile
apps
for
kids
found
that
72
broke
a
law
aimed
at
protecting
children's
online
privacy.
Researchers
developed
a
tool
that
can
determine
whether
a
mobile
app
follows
the
Children's
Online
Privacy
Protection
Act(COPPA).
The
tool
was
99%right.
Researchers
continue
to
improve
the
technology,
which
they
plan
to
make
available
for
download
at
no
cost.
When
you
download
an
app,
it
can
get
a
lot
of
information
on
your
cellphone.
You
have
to
keep
in
mind
that
all
this
information
can
be
collected
by
these
apps
and
sent
to
third
parties.
What
do
they
do
with
it?
They
can
pretty
much
do
anything.
We
should
be
careful
about
this.
Apps
can
get
personal
identifiable
information,
including
names,
email
addresses,
phone
numbers,
locations,
audio
and
visual
recordings,
and
unique
identifiers
or
devices
such
as
an
international
mobile
equipment
identity(IMEI),
media
access
control(MAC)
addresses,
Android
IDs
and
Android
advertising
IDs.
The
advertising
ID,
for
example,
allows
app
developers
to
collect
information
on
user’s
interests,
which
they
can
then
sell
to
advertisers.
What's
worse,
games
and
other
apps
that
violate
COPPA
cause
privacy
risks
that
could
make
it
possible
for
someone
to
determine
a
child's
ID
and
location.
A
bad
man
could
probably
get
the
user's
email
ID
and
geographic
location
and
try
to
kidnap
the
child.
COPPA
requires
that
websites
and
online
services
directed
to
children
get
parental
agreement
before
collecting,
personal
information
from
anyone
younger
than
13;
however,
as
the
research
found,
many
popular
apps
do
not
follow
the
rule.
Researchers
found
that
many
popular
games
designed
specifically
for
young
children
showed
users’.
Android
IDs,
Android
advertising
IDs
and
device
descriptions.
Researchers
suggest
that
parents
should
be
careful
when
downloading
or
allowing
children
to
download
apps.
They
advise
keeping
downloads
to
a
minimum.
Don't
download
apps
unless
they
need
to.
8.
What
is
the
matter
with
most
mobile
apps
for
kids?
A.
They
lead
children
to
do
wrong.
B.
They
are
too
expensive
for
kids.
C.
They
collect
children's
private
information.
D.
They
are
too
difficult
to
operate.
9.
What
can
we
learn
about
the
testing
tool?
A.
It
will
be
put
online
for
sale.
B.
Parents
will
get
it
for
free.
C.
Apps
will
find
ways
to
deal
with
it.
D.
Researchers
will
give
it
up
after
the
study.
10.
What
will
apps
do
with
kids'
privacy?
A.
They
will
send
it
to
others.
B.
They
will
publish
it
online.
C.
They
will
keep
it
a
secret.
D.
They
will
use
it
in
social
surveys.
11.
What
is
the
researchers'
advice
to
parents

D
For
Deaf
People,
Face
Masks
with
Windows
Mean
More
Than
Smiles
For
the
last
few
months,
Michael
Conley
has
felt
very
alone.
Conley
is
a
deaf
man,
and
he
reads
lips
to
understand
what
people
are
saying
to
him.
However,
people
have
been
wearing
masks
to
help
slow
the
spread
of
COVID-19,
a
new
virus
that
spreads
from
person
to
person
when
infected
people
breathe
out
virus
particles
(颗粒).
People
who
are
deaf
and
hard
of
hearing
communicate
in
many
different
ways.
Some
might
learn
to
read
lips.
Many
people
also
use
American
Sign
Language
(ASL).
It
is
a
way
to
communicate
using
gestures
and
signs
for
people
who
are
deaf
and
hard
of
hearing.
For
both
reading
lips
and
ASL,
being
able
to
see
someone's
face
and
facial
expressions
is
critically
important.
Particularly
for
ASL,
facial
expressions
play
a
role
in
grammar
and
wording.
Helping
Lip
Readers
See
Mouths
Move
Conley
told
his
co-worker,
Chris
LaZich,
about
his
situation.
LaZich
asked
her
friend,
Helton,
for
help.
Ingrid
Helton
is
a
costume
designer
with
the
San
Diego
Opera.
She
makes
masks
with
plastic
windows
for
hearing
people
to
wear,
making
it
possible
for
lip
readers
to
see
mouths
move.
For
a
long
time,
lip
readers
have
struggled
to
understand
hospital
workers
who
wear
masks.
The
problem
has
only
gotten
worse
during
COVID-
19.
Many
interpreters
for
the
deaf
have
not
been
able
to
enter
hospitals
because
they
could
catch
the
virus.
More
Challenges
For
Deaf
People
Now,
more
people
are
wearing
masks
outside
of
hospitals,
too.
This
creates
even
more
challenges
for
deaf
people.
When
people
began
wearing
masks,
Conley
felt
cut
off
from
the
world.
Since
he
could
not
read
lips,
he
did
not
know
when
people
were
speaking
to
him
or
what
they
were
saying.
Conley
was
nervous
to
go
to
the
pharmacy
or
the
grocery
store.
Once,
he
felt
so
nervous
to
enter
his
favorite
restaurant
that
he
waited
outside
for
45
minutes.
He
did
not
know
what
he
would
do
if
a
masked
worker
asked
him
questions
about
his
order.
Luckily,
the
employee
recognized
him
and
pulled
down
her
mask
to
talk
to
Conley.
Conley
was
grateful
for
her
action.
Not
everyone
knows
Conley,
though,
and
would
not
know
he
is
deaf.
He
carries
pieces
of
paper
with
him
so
he
can
ask
people
to
write
what
they
are
saying.
This
way,
other
people
don't
have
to
remove
their
mask.
However,
it
also
means
touching
the
same
paper,
Touching
common
surfaces
can
spread
germs.
Spreading
germs
risks
contracting
COVID-19.
Because
of
that,
Conley
was
refused
service
many
times.
“It
makes
you
lose
your
confidence,”
said
Conley,
who
has
been
deaf
his
entire
life.
However,
Helton's
windowed
masks
helped
him
get
his
independence
back.
Conley
and
his
co-worker,
Chris
LaZich,
tried
out
the
masks
and
he
had
no
trouble
reading
LaZich's
lips.

【13题详解】
细节理解题。根据倒数第四段中“When
people

【14题详解】
推理判断题。根据第三段中“For

is
critically
important.
Particularly

LaZich尝试了这些口罩,他毫不费力地读懂了LaZich的唇语)”可推知,最后一段最后一句提到了Conley毫不费力地读懂了LaZich的唇语,可知本句应当是在承接上文说明Conley看到了什么,故C选项“LaZich透过面具的窗户对他微笑”更符合语境,是文章最好的结尾,也与文章标题“For
Deaf
People,
Face
Masks
with
Windows
Mean
More
Than
Smiles(对于聋人来说,带窗口罩不仅仅意味着微笑)”相呼应。故选C。

【点睛】完形填空是高考英语中最难的一个题,正确解答完形填空题是考试成功至关重要的保障。完形填空所选的文章都是具有逻辑关系、意义相连的语篇,因此,在行文中不可避免地会出现词语的复现、前后同义或反义、相互照应等现象。所以,解题时应联系上下文寻找相关线索,如某一个词的原词、指代词、同义词、近义词、上义词、下义词和概括词等。完形填空的解题方法很多,而词汇复现法就是最常见的方法之一。词汇复现包括原词复现、同义词复现、同根词复现、概括词复现以及结构复现等。本题中的5小题中的poor;6小题中的giving等都采用了同义词或原词复现的方法。但由于我们在做题时不可能总是重复地阅读文章,因此,在做完形填空时要培养一种捕捉并记忆相关信息的能力。

【解析】
【分析】本文为一篇记叙文,讲述了七夕节的由来——关于牛郎和织女的传说故事。
【详解】1.考查形容词。句意:很久以前,有一个诚实勤劳的男孩,他在很小的时候就失去了父母。分析句子可知,空处缺少形容词与“hardworking”并列作“boy”的定语,“honesty”诚实,为名词,对应形容词为honest。故填honest。
2.考查介词。句意同上。“at
an
early
age”意思为:在早年,为固定搭配。故填at。
3.考查名词。句意:所有的村民都称呼他为牛郎。分析句子可知,空处放在“all”后面,应该用可数名词复数。故填villagers。
4.考查介词。句意:很快,她就爱上了牛郎。“fell”为fall的过去式,“fall
in
love
with”意思为:爱上,为固定搭配。故填in。
5.考查连词。句意:当牛郎在农田里干活时,仙女就在家里织布。分析句子可知,为时间状语从句,用“when/as”引导,表示:当……的时候,符合题意。位于句首,首字母需大写。故填When/As。
6.考查动词。句意:当地人非常欣赏她高超的编织技术,都称呼她为织女。分析句子可知,空处缺少句子的谓语动词,全文用一般过去时陈述,动词用过去式。故填admired。
7.考查副词。句意:他们平静幸福地生活了几年,直到女孩的家人在村里找到了她。分析句子可知,空处为副词,与“happily”并列,修饰动词“lived”。故填peacefully。
8.考查非谓语动词。句意:她的祖母命令她立刻离开。分析句子可知,空处缺少动词不定式构成句中宾语her的补足语,构成“order
sb.
to
do
sth.”结构。故填to
leave。
9.考查动词时态。句意:然后祖母拿出她的发夹,在天空中画了一条大河,叫银河,让一家人永远分离。分析句子可知,“and”连接两个并列句,空处缺少第二个句子的谓语,根据“took”可知,此处动词也要用过去式。故填drew。
10.考查非谓语动词。句意同上。分析句子可知,空处作空前名词“river”的定语,此处“know”与“river”构成动宾关系,应用know的过去分词作river的后置定语。故填known。

【解析】
【分析】本文为应用文。讲述了作者给朋友Tom回一封信,给他介绍他的旅行情况,长城和故宫两个景点比较,作者认为长城是更好的选择。
【详解】1.考查动词不定式。句意:今天我很高兴收到我朋友汤姆的来信,知道他要来中国。根据固定用法“be
happy
to
do
sth.
很开心做某事”可知,此处为动词不定式,heard应用动词原形hear。故将
heard改为hear。
2.考查动词。句意:我将给他写信介绍他的旅行情况。根据固定用法“write
sb.
a
letter给某人写一封信”可知write后面可以接双宾语,此处应把to删除故删除to。
3.考查名词单复数。句意:去长城和去故宫的两次旅行,都是不错的选择。根据前文的both
are可知,choice应用复数形式choices。故将choice改为choices。
4.考查冠词。句意:众所周知,它是中国文明的象征。根据句意以及后文的名词词组“symbol
of
Chinese
civilization”可知,此处指中国文化的一种象征,应在symbol前加a。故在symbol前加a。
5.
考查动词。句意:中国有句谚语,“不到长城非好汉。”根据固定短语“As
a
saying
goes”可知,此处应将going改为goes。故将going改为goes。
6.考查形容词。句意:通过参观它,人们一定会对勤劳的中国人民有一个良好的认识。根据句意以及固定用法“be
sure
to
do肯定,一定”可知,此处应用形容词sure。故将surely改为sure。
7.考查副词。句意:此外,沿着长城的风景是惊人的。Beside为介词,意为“在……旁边”,Besides为副词,意为“而且,此外”,用来修饰句子。此处应用Besides修饰句子。故将Beside改为Besides。
8.
考查表语从句。句意:这就是为什么我认为去长城会是一个更好的选择。that’s
why
+句子(句意为这件事的结果);that’s
because+句子(句意为这件事的原因)。根据上下文以及分析句子可知,此处为作者认为去长城旅行将会是一个更好的选择(做某事的结果),此处应用why引导表语从句。故将because改为why。
9.考查形容词比较级。句意:这就是为什么我认为去长城会是一个更好的选择。根据上文“two
trips
to
the
Great
Wall
and
the
Palace
Museum,”以及“I
prefer
the
tour
to
the
Great
Wall.”和句子语境可知,此处为the
Great
Wall
和
the
Palace
Museum两个景点比较,作者认为长城是更好的选择。故将good改为better。
10.考查形容词性物主代词。句意:希望我的建议能满足他的需要。前文“I’m
happy
to
heard
from
my
friend
Tom”以及“I'll
write
to
him
a
letter”提到作者收到Tom的来信并且给他回信,由此可知,此处为作者希望自己的建议能满足他的需要。故将your改为his。
