What is a book for
What …… for 强调什么目的或用途。一般用不定式或for介词短语等回答。
如：----- What are you here for 你为什么在这里？
----- To meet my uncle. 来看我的叔叔。
----- What do you come back for 你回来干什么？
----- I’m back for my book. 我回来拿书
no + n. = not any/a/an…
如：had no pictures = didn’t have any pictures
see sb. do sth. 看见某人干某事的整个过程
see sb. doing sth. 看见某人正在干某事
I saw him swim across the river. 我看见他游过了河。
I saw him swimming in the river. 我看见他正在合力游泳。
注：hear, watch, notice也有上述两种用法
across 和 through
across意为 “穿过，越过”，表示越过一个平面，是介词。如：
Don’t run across the road when the traffic lights are red.
当红灯亮的时候，不要横穿马路
through 意为“穿过”表示从中间穿过，是介词。如：
He walked through the forest to go home. 他穿过森林回家。
