B
I’m
Jack.
To
help
students
develop
good
reading
habits,
our
school
holds
many
activities.
My
favourite
one
is
the
reading
seminar
(研讨会).
I
still
remember
what
we
talked
about
when
I
went
there
for
the
first
time.
It
was
about
Daniel
Defoe’s
book
Robinson
Crusoe.
I
didn’t
really
understand
the
book
until
I
went
to
the
seminar.
Mr.
Song,
our
teacher,
led
us
to
immerse
(使沉浸)
ourselves
in
Robinson’s
world
with
two
questions.
The
first
one
was:
How
do
we
read
this
book?
Mr.
Song
taught
us
to
find
out
how
the
story
began,
the
characters
and
the
plots
(情节)
of
the
story.
Following
him,
we
slowly
got
the
main
idea
of
Robinson
Crusoe.
Robinson
could
live
an
easy
life
but
he
chose
to
take
a
trip
abroad
by
ship.
He
was
hit
by
a
rainstorm
at
sea,
and
then
he
got
to
an
island.
No
people
lived
there.
Life
was
hard,
but
Robison
never
gave
up.
Finally,
after
staying
on
the
island
for
twenty-eight
years,
a
ship
came
and
saved
him.
Mr.
Song’s
second
question
was:
Why
do
we
read
this
book?
He
organized
a
group
discussion
and
let
us
share
our
thoughts
with
one
another.
We
found
that
Robinson
was
a
brave
and
hard-working
person.
We
should
learn
from
him
and
better
prepare
ourselves
for
the
future.
54.
What
did
the
students
do
at
the
reading
seminar?
A.
They
made
some
new
friends.
B.
They
talked
about
reading
habits.
C.
They
learned
how
to
read
a
book.
D.
They
talked
about
Daniel
Defoe.
55.
The
teacher’s
first
question
made
Jack
______
.
A.
want
to
write
a
story
B.
enjoy
the
teacher’s
class
C.
love
the
reading
seminar
D.
better
understand
the
story
56.
The
students
answered
the
second
question
by
______
.
A.
discussing
it
with
the
book
writer
B.
discussing
it
with
each
other
C.
reading
the
book
carefully
D.
writing
a
similar
story
C
You
have
just
finished
eating
an
apple
while
you’re
on
a
hike.
You
are
on
a
path
without
rubbish
bins.
What
do
you
do
with
the
apple
core
(核)?
If
you
answered
“throw
it
in
the
grass”
because
you
always
thought
fruit
would
not
have
a
bad
influence
(影响)
on
nature,
prepare
for
a
slowly
nodding
“ahhh”
moment.
According
to
the
workers
of
the
Glacier
National
Park,
decomposition
(分解)
of
fruit
litter
takes
much
longer
than
you
probably
think.
At
the
same
time,
it
causes
other
problems.
When
animals
start
to
get
their
food
from
people,
they
may
stop
looking
for
their
own
food
in
nature.
It
is
very
dangerous
because
animals
need
different
foods
to
stay
healthy.
Food
waste
also
draws
animals
to
areas
where
there
are
a
lot
of
people.
When
food
is
thrown
out
of
a
car
window,
animals
may
develop
the
habit
of
looking
for
food
by
the
roadside.
That
increases
the
chances
of
their
being
hit
by
a
car.
In
fact,
apples,
bananas
and
oranges
aren’t
native
to
the
Glacier
National
Park.
If
they
are
eaten
by
wild
animals,
they
will
probably
cause
the
animals
to
get
sick.
Seeds
of
the
fruit
or
vegetables
that
end
up
on
the
ground
could
result
in
an
exotic
plant
growth.
Also,
nobody
wants
to
see
somebody
else’s
fruit
litter
while
enjoying
the
beautiful
outdoors.
Next
time
you
want
to
throw
the
apple
core
in
the
grass,
remember
the
words
of
the
Wildlife
Centre
of
Virginia,
“No
litter
is
safe
litter,
not
even
an
apple
core.”
57.
How
does
the
writer
start
the
passage?
A.
By
showing
a
situation
in
life.
B.
By
answering
someone
S
question.
C.
By
asking
us
to
protect
nature.
D.
By
telling
us
how
to
deal
with
fruit
litter.
58.
What
influence
does
throwing
food
waste
have
on
animals
according
to
the
passage?
A.
It
stops
them
from
being
hungry.
B.
It
provides
different
foods
for
them.
C.
It
makes
them
depend
on
humans.
D.
It
makes
them
lose
the
ability
to
live
in
nature.
59.
Which
of
the
following
is
NOT
true
according
to
the
passage?
A.
An
apple
core
won’t
be
harmful
to
nature.
B.
Throwing
food
waste
can
bring
some
problems.
C.
It’s
dangerous
for
animals
to
look
for
food
by
the
roadside.
D.
Animals
in
the
park
will
probably
fall
ill
after
eating
apples
people
threw.
60.
What
is
the
purpose
of
the
passage?
A.
To
advise
people
not
to
eat
while
hiking.
B.
To
ask
people
to
protect
the
wild
animals.
C.
To
explain
how
food
waste
is
decomposed.
D.
To
call
on
people
not
to
throw
food
waste
carelessly.

Researchers
(研究人员)
at
RMIT
University
in
Australia
have
had
a
surprising
finding
recently.
The
study
found
that
just
one
kilometre
of
a
road
could
use
around
3
million
face
masks,
reducing
98
tons
of
waste
from
landfill
(垃圾填埋场).
That
means
face
masks
can
be
recycled
to
build
highways.
The
reason
why
researchers
started
the
study
is
that
they
were
sad
about
seeing
a
large
number
of
masks
thrown
in
their
city
streets.
This
pollution
is
quite
serious,
with
around
6.88
billion
face
masks
being
used
every
day
all
over
the
world.
These
are
sent
to
landfills
or
burned
because
they
serve
no
other
purposes.
But
both
ways
are
not
very
ideal,
causing
environmental
and
health
problems.
The
landfill
also
allows
the
lightweight
masks
to
blow
away
and
pollute
rivers,
oceans,
and
other
waterways.
Therefore,
the
researchers
wondered
if
there
was
a
way
in
which
these
masks
could
be
reused.
They
began
experimenting
(做实验)
with
mixing
small
parts
of
face
masks
with
recycled
concrete
aggregate
(混凝土集料)
(RCA),
for
use
as
a
road-building
material.
A
mix
of
1%
face
masks
and
99%
RCA
was
found
to
be
the
ideal
material.
It
was
strong
enough.
The
new
material
passed
all
kinds
of
tests
for
road
building.
But
so
far
the
research
has
only
used
new
face
masks.
Researchers
hope
to
find
a
good
sterilization
technique
(杀菌技术)
that
will
allow
for
used
masks.
It
needs
the
help
from
other
researchers
in
that
area
so
the
material
can
be
used
in
engineering.

In

Third,
I’ll

Fourth,
when
