CLASS OPENING AND REVIEW
This is our first class of the semester. So try something simple, such as:
T: Hello!
C: Hello!
T: Hi!
C: Hi!
T: Let’s learn English!
Review “A B C song”.
Review basic classroom commands (stand, point, sit down, circle, underline) with “SIMON SAYS”.
NEW CONCEPTS
How are you? Fine, thank you.
Write and repeat the phrases.
Note phrases the students may not know or remember: “Are you ready for school?” “My name is ______. What’s your name?” “Nice to meet you.” Can everyone use or explain any of these phrases?
Remember to give lots of praise to students who try. I want to risk-taking and experimentation with English.
Ask some question:
T: Where are Jenny and Danny？
C: At school! In the classroom.
T: Is Jenny a teacher?
C: No.
T: Is Mr. Wood a teacher? Is he a teacher?
C: Yes.
T: Yes, he is a ...
C: ...a teacher.
T: Very good, class!
