B
Late
last
year,
I
needed
to
transport
some
furniture
from
our
house
to
my
son’s
flat
in
central
London.
I
should
have
paid
a
man
to
do
it,
but
foolishly
confident
in
my
driving
ability,
I
decided
to
hire
a
lorry
and
drive
it
myself.
Moving
the
lorry
backward
in
my
yard,
I
crashed
into
a
small
shed,
causing
permanent
damage.
Fortunately,
I
owned
the
shed.
I
loaded
up
with
the
furniture
and
set
out.
By
now
it
was
rush
hour.
My
nerves
broke
down,
as
I
drove
the
huge
lorry
through
the
streets
nervously.
At
last
I
arrived
at
Charlotte
Street
and
found
an
available
parking
space.
I
moved
the
lorry
into
it
only
to
notice
three
people
at
a
pavement
cafe
waving
to
me.
I
got
out,
trembling
violently,
like
one
who
had
just
finished
a
stormy
Atlantic
crossing.
“You’ve
hit
the
car
parked
behind
you,”
they
said.
I
examined
the
car.
There
were
white
scratches
on
its
front
face.
It
bore
a
disabled
sign.
So,
now
I
was
a
bad
driver
and
a
bad
man.
Under
the
severe
look
of
the
three,
I
left
an
apologetic
note
on
the
damaged
car’s
windscreen,
giving
my
phone
number.
I
unloaded
the
furniture,
dripping
the
sweat,
wanting
only
to
escape
from
the
monster.
I
drove
it
back
to
its
base
at
Edgware.
On
arrival,
the
boss
told
me
I
must
fill
it
up
with
petrol
before
returning
it.
“Just
charge
me,”
I
cried,
still
shaking
with
fear.
He
stared
at
me
with
understanding.
No
doubt
he’d
witnessed
others
in
this
state
before.
“How
about
I
drive
you
to
a
petrol
station,
you
fill
up,
and
I
drive
it
back?”
he
asked.
He
danced
the
great
lorry
through
the
traffic
so
carefully
that
it
would
have
shamed
me
if
I
had
not
been
so
grateful.
24.
The
man
felt
______
to
have
delivered
the
furniture
himself.

The
man
trembled
violently
because
______.
A.
he
caused
a
terrible
traffic
accident
B.
driving
the
lorry
was
too
difficult
for
him
C.
he
was
afraid
to
see
the
three
people
D.
the
furniture
was
too
heavy
for
him
26.
The
man
said
he
was
a
bad
man
most
probably
because
______.
A.
he
made
the
traffic
accident
on
purpose
B.
he
parked
the
big
lorry
on
the
pavement
C.
he
shouldn’t
have
driven
the
lorry
himself
D.
he
shouldn’t
have
caused
trouble
for
the
disabled
27.
The

If
you
were
bringing
friends
home
to
visit,
you
could
show
them
the
way.
You
know
the
landmarks

a
big
red
house
or
a
bus-stop
sign.
But
what
if
you
were
swimming
in
the
middle
of
the
Atlantic
Ocean?
Could
you
still
find
your
way
home?A
loggerhead
turtle(海龟)could.
According
to
Dr.
Ken
Lohmann,
loggerheads
have
a
magnetic(磁力的)sense
based
on
Earth's
magnetic
field.
It
helps
them
locate
the
best
spots
for
finding
food
and
their
home
beaches.
Scientists
already
know
that
several
other
animals,
such
as
whales
and
honeybees,
can
detect(探测到)magnetic
fields.
The
difference
between
them
and
loggerheads,
however,
is
the
way
they
learn
to
use
their
magnetic
sense.
Young
whales
and
honeybees
can
learn
from
adults.
Loggerheads
are
abandoned
as
eggs.
As
newborn
loggerheads
have
no
adults
to
learn
from,
what
helps
them
figure
out
how
to
use
their
magnetic
sense?
Lohmann
thinks
one
of
the
cues
was
light
on
the
sea.
Baby
loggerheads
hatch
only
at
night.
However,
a
small
amount
of
light
reflects
off
the
ocean.
The
light
makes
that
region
brighter.
Heading
toward
the
light
helps
them
get
quickly
out
to
sea,
where
they
can
find
food.
Lohmann
tested
whether
newborn
loggerheads
use
this
light
source
to
set
their
magnetic
“compasses”(罗盘).
He
and
his
team
put
some
newborns
in
a
water
tank
and
recorded
which
way
they
swam.
Around
the
tank,
the
scientists
created
a
magnetic
field
that
matched
the
Earth’s.
They
set
a
weak
light
to
the
east
of
the
magnetic
field.
Then
they
let
the
newborns
go.
At
first,
the
newborns
swam
toward
the
light.
After
the
scientists
turned
off
the
light,
the
turtles
that
had
seen
the
light
in
the
east
always
swam
toward
east.
When
the
researchers
reversed(颠倒)the
magnetic
field,
these
turtles
turned
around
and
swam
toward
the
new
"east".
This
and
the
follow-up
experiments
all
showed
that
loggerheads
use
light
from
the
outside
world
to
set
their
magnetic
"compasses"
and
then
remember
the
"correct"
direction.
If
a
turtle
hatches
on
a
brightly-lit
beach,
that
would
damage
its
magnetic
sense
forever
and
make
survival
hard
for
the
turtle.
Lohmann's
work
has
led
others
to
protect
the
habitat
of
this
endangered
species.
Yet
many
questions
about
these
creatures
remain
unanswered,
and
researchers
have
a
lot
to
study.
28.
Loggerheads
and
whales
differ
in
the
way
they______.
A.
detect
magnetic
fields
B.
recognize
landmarks
C.
learn
to
find
directions
D.
bring
up
their
young
29.
In
the
experiment,
after
the
newborns'
magnetic
sense
was
set,
their
moving
direction
was
determined
by______.
A.
the
light
B.
other
unknown
factors
C.
the
magnetic
field
D.
the
light
and
the
magnetic
field

One
of
the
best
parts
of
the
school
day
is
the
time
spent
in
the
playground.
It’s
a
chance
to
be
with
friends,
run
around
and
have
fun.
However,
at
the
Rudyard
Kipling
Primary
School
in
Brighton,
things
were
getting
too
hard,
so
the
teachers
decided
something
had
to
be
done.
The
school’s
new
rules,
which
restrict(限制)physical
activities
and
encourage
pupils
only
to
touch
if
they
are
playing
friendlier
games,
have
attracted
a
lot
of
attention.
Most
people
say
that
they
are
a
bad
restriction.
Parents
of
children
at
the
school,
in
Brighton,
East
Sussex,
talked
about
the
bizarre
rule

saying
their
kids
were
now
bored
at
playtime.
A
teacher
for
the
school
defended(辩护)the
rues,
saying,
“We
want
to
make
sure
the
playground
is
a
happy,
safe
and
calm
place
where
everyone
can
enjoy
their
lunchtime
running
around
and
getting
the
exercise
that
we
know
is
important
to
them.”
Some
people
say
that
Rudyard
Kipling
Primary
School’s
decision
is
a
good
one
because
it
makes
the
playground
more
fun
for
everyone.
Not
all
children
enjoy
playing
rough(剧烈的)games
or
sports
at
playtime.
Friendlier
games
ensure
everyone
can
join
in.
The
teachers
only
have
the
pupils’
best
interests
at
heart,
so
they
should
be
trusted
to
make
the
right
decision.
Besides,
if
someone
gets
hurt
in
the
playground,
that
could
distract(分心)the
teachers
from
other
accidents.
However,
some
people
think
it’s
an
overreaction.
Sometimes
physical
games
can
lead
to
injuries,
but
banning(禁止)such
activities
is
unreasonable.
In
fact,
it
is
only
during
physical
games
that
you
can
build
up
your
ability
to
recover
quickly
from
falling
over.
Even
if
these
physical
activities
aren’t
your
favorite
way
to
spend
break
time,
it’s
difficult
to
see
why
they
will
be
completely
banned.
Each
pupil
should
be
able
to
decide
what
they
want
to
do.
Besides,
schools
should
be
happy
that
their
students
want
to
exercise
between
classes
as
this
will
keep
them
fit
and
healthy,
and
teachers
should
encourage
this,
not
prevent
it.

36
Don’t
worry.
Here’s
a
quick
and
easy
tip-list
to
make
such
a
worthy
act
successful.

37
You
need
to
make
sure
that

you
and
your
participants
enjoy
the
event.
So
keep
it
simple
and
make
sure
that
you
add
some
fun,
whether
it's
special
decoration,
a
bag
for
each
participant
or
guest,
or
a
special
theme.
?
Get
team
support.
38
Teamwork
may
give
you
some
new
ideas
and
help
give
a

feature
to
your

Make
sure
that
you
break

the
work
among
your
team.
?
Plan
for
the
“what-ifs?”
If
you
are
planning
to
hold
an
event
outdoors,
or
if
you
are
relying
on
a
famous
person
as
a
guest
of
honor,
make
sure
you
think
of
a
few
possible
alternatives.
39
This
is
the
key
to
successful
event
planning.
?
Timing
is
everything.
Check
your
community
calendar
to
make
sure
there
are
no
important
community
events
on
the
day
that
you
are
planning
your
event.
You
might
want
to
check
with
other
communities
or
non-profit
organizations
nearby.
40
?
Check
out
your

本文是一篇应用文。短文介绍了为了丰富青少年在暑假的活动,举办的一些夏令营的相关信息。
【21题详解】细节理解题。根据Camp

all-girls
sister
camp
are
sure
to
give
the
boys
a
run

when
it
comes
time
to
compete.”可知,奥沃斯汀夏令营的全女生夏令营的积极参与者们在比赛的时候肯定会与男生们一较高下。所以Camp
Chinqueka的特别之处就在于其只招收女孩。故选A。
【22题详解】细节理解题。根据Curious
Jane
Summer
Camps中“...

‘Kitchen
Chemistry’
‘Stop
Motion’
‘Sew
Fun’
and
‘Spy

Jane
为三到六年级的小艺术家们提供了一个选择主题的机会,为期一周。‘Kitchen
Chemistry’
‘Stop
Motion’
‘Sew
Fun’
and
‘Spy
Science’
是可选择的几个主题。所以Kitchen
Chemistry是一个项目的主题。故选C。
【23题详解】细节理解题。根据Writopia

perfect
for
those
desiring
to

本文是一篇记叙文。作者要将家具从家里装运到住在伦敦市中心的儿子家,决定自己租一辆卡车装运。在停车的时候,撞上了标有残疾人标志的车子。作者还卡车的时候出租卡车的老板决定送作者回家,作者感到非常感激。
【24题详解】推理判断题。根据文章第一段“I
should
have
paid
a
man
to
do
it,
but
foolishly
confident
in
my
driving
ability,
I
decided
to
hire
a
lorry
and
drive
it
myself.(我本应雇别人装运家具的,但是出于对自己驾车能力的愚蠢的自信,我决定租一辆卡车自己装运。)”结合下文描述的作者停车时撞上别人的车以及不得已让出租卡车的老板送自己回家可知,作者对决定自己装运家具的事感到后悔。故选B。
【25题详解】细节理解题。根据文章第三段“I
got
out,
trembling
violently,
like
one
who
had
just
finished
a
stormy
Atlantic
crossing.
(我下了车,浑身剧烈地颤抖着,像一个刚在暴风雨中横渡大西洋的人。)”再结合第二段最后一句“My
nerves
broke
down,
as
I
drove
the
huge
lorry
through
the
streets
nervously.(
当我紧张地驾驶着那辆大卡车穿过街道时,我的神经崩溃了。)
”可知,由于卡车难以驾驶,所以作者十分紧张。故选B。
【26题详解】细节理解题。根据文章第三段中“There
were
white
scratches
on
its
front
face.
It
bore
a
disabled
sign.
So,
now
I
was
a
bad
driver
and
a
bad
man.(它的正面有白色的划痕。上面有一个残疾人标志。所以,现在我是一个糟糕的司机和一个坏人。)”可知,由于剐坏了带有残疾人标志的车,这可能会给残疾人带来麻烦,因此作者觉得自己是一个坏人,故选D。
【27题详解】推理判断题。结合全文描述的作者因为对自己的驾驶技术有信心而租用卡车自己装运家具而导致一系列问题可知,本文旨在说明“过分自信是愚蠢的”。故选C。
C篇
【答案】28.
C
29.
C
30.
C
31.
D
本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了红海龟与其它很多动物一样都可以感知磁场。与其它动物感知磁场不同的是,海龟依靠光来感知磁场。
【28题详解】细节理解题。根据文章第三段“The
difference
between
them
and
loggerheads,
however,
is
the
way
they
learn
to
use
their
magnetic
sense.
Young
whales
and
honeybees
can
learn
from
adults.(然而,它们和红海龟的不同之处在于它们学习使用磁感应的方式。)”可知,海龟和鲸鱼、蜜蜂在寻找方向方面有所不同。故选C。
【29题详解】推理判断题。根据文章第五段“Around
the
tank,
the
scientists
created
a
magnetic
field
that
matched
the
Earth’s.
They
set
a
weak
light
to
the
east
of
the
magnetic
field.
Then
they
let
the
newborns
go.(在水箱周围,科学家们创造了一个与地球磁场相匹配的磁场。他们在磁场的东边放了一束微弱的光。然后他们放了这些新生幼海龟。)”和第六段“At
first,
the
newborns
swam
toward
the
light.
After
the
scientists
turned
off
the
light,
the
turtles
that
had
seen
the
light
in
the
east
always
swam
toward
east.
When
the
researchers
reversed(颠倒)the
magnetic
field,
these
turtles
turned
around
and
swam
toward
the
new
"east".(刚开始,这些新生幼海龟游向光线。在科学家关掉灯之后,在东方看到光的海龟总是往东游。当研究人员逆转磁场时,这些海龟掉头向新的“东方”游去。)”可知,磁感应设定后,其运动方向由磁场决定,故选C。
【30题详解】细节理解题。根据文章最后一段“Lohmann’s
work
has
led
others
to
protect
the
habitat
of
this
endangered
species.(
Lohmann的工作促使其他人保护这种濒危物种的栖息地。)”可知,Lohmann的研究工作的意义在于它有助于保护红海龟的生存环境。故选C。
【31题详解】主旨大意题。阅读全文,根据文章内容可知,文章主要介绍了红海龟与其它很多动物一样都可以感知磁场。与其它动物感知磁场不同的是,海龟依靠光来感知磁场。所以The
Loggerhead's
Built-in
"Compass"(海龟的内置“指南针”)”作为文章标题最为合适。故选D。
D篇
【答案】32.
D
33.
B
34.
C
35.
D
本文是议论文,布莱顿的一所小学限制体育运动,这引起了人们不同的争论。
【32题详解】细节理解题,根据第一段最后“The
school’s
new
rules,
which
restrict(限制)physical
activities
and
encourage
pupils
only
to
touch
if
they
are
playing
friendlier
games,
have
attracted
a
lot
of
attention.

(学校的新规定限制学生的身体活动,并鼓励他们只有在玩友好的游戏时才触摸身体,这吸引了很多人的注意。),第二段的“Most
people
say
that
they
are
a
bad
restriction.”(大多数人说这些限制不好),第三段的“Some
people
say
that
Rudyard
Kipling
Primary
School’s
decision
is
a
good
one
”(一些人认为拉迪亚德·吉卜林小学的决定很好)以及最后一段的“However,
some
people
think
it’s
an
overreaction.”(然而一些人认为这是过激反应)可知,这项规定吸引了广泛的讨论。故选D项。
【33题详解】词义猜测题。根据上下文,“Most
people
say
that
they
are
a
bad
restriction.
Parents
of
children
at
the
school,
in
Brighton,
East
Sussex,
talked
about
the
bizarre
rule

saying
their
kids
were
now
bored
at
playtime.”可知,一些人认为这是一个不好的规定,家长们称他们的孩子觉得活动时间很无聊,由此可知划线词应是表负向意思的词,B项“奇怪的”符合语境。故选B项。
【34题详解】细节理解题,根据第三段“Some
people
say
that
Rudyard
Kipling
Primary
School’s
decision
is
a
good
one
because
it
makes
the
playground
more
fun
for
everyone.”
(有人说,拉迪亚德·吉卜林小学的决定是好的,因为它让操场对每个人都更有趣。)可知他们认为这项规定带给孩子们更多的乐趣。故选C项。
【35题详解】主旨大意题,根据最后一段第二句“Sometimes
physical
games
can
lead
to
injuries,
but
banning(禁止)such
activities
is
unreasonable.”
(有时候体育游戏会导致受伤,但是禁止这样的活动是不合理的。)可知,本段主要讲述禁止体能活动是不合理的,并在下文给出具体原因。故选D项。
