Of
all
the
audience
for
live
entertainment,
the
studio
variety
is
widely
considered
to
be
the
lowest
of
low.
I
have
heard
it
said
that
even
people
who
work
in
television
treat
studio
audience
with
scorn--
or,
as
one
cameraman
put
it,
“like
cattle”.
I
had
assumed
that
studios
were
made
up
of
silly
people
desperate
for
two
seconds
of
fame.
But
there’s
no
such
thing
as
a
typical
studio
audience.
They
come
from
all
classes,
professions
and
income
groups.
Television
tries
to
attract
different
types
of
people
for
different
types
of
programs.
Those
of
us
who
prefer
to
watch
television
from
home
can’t
see
why
anyone
would
want
to
watch
television
from
a
studio.
Why
would
anyone
bother
to
apply
for
tickets,
travel
for
long
distances,
and
suffer
hours
of
boredom
in
the
uncomfortableness
of
a
studio
just
to
watch
what
they
can
see
at
home?
One
theory
is
that
people
hope
that
for
a
second
they
might
appear
on
television.
I
didn’t
believe
this
until
I
spoke
to
Angela.
Why
had
she
come?
“It
was
a
chance
to
appear
on
television.”
Another
theory
is
that
people
are
curious
to
take
a
look
behind
the
scenes.
But
the
most
common
explanation
I
heard
was
simply
a
case
of
“a
friend
gave
the
ticket.”
Few
of
us
have
sat
in
as
studio
audiences,
yet
we
think
we
can
imagine
what
it
is
like.
You
sit
there,
jammed
among
strangers,
while
someone
flashes
cards
with
APPLAUD
or
LAUGH
on
them---
and
you
clap
or
laugh
accordingly.
This
may
reflect
the
reality
of
some
television,
but
not
all
by
any
means.
As
one
studio
manager
puts
it,
“we
always
assume
a
show
will
be
good
enough
not
to
need
these
signs.”
But
is
there
any
real
difference
between
what
you
experience
in
a
studio
and
what
you
see
on
your
television
at
home?
For
Claire,
sitting
in
a
studio
is
“more
exciting”,
while
Charlotte
likes
the
feeling
of
involvement
with
the
live
television.
“Last
year
I
saw
my
favorite
actor.
When
you
see
him
on
television
at
home
you
miss
out
a
lot.”

3.
Why
would

He
wants
to
help
them
to
understand
the
show.

and

In
the
world
of
entertainment,
TV
talk
shows
have
undoubtedly
flooded
every
inch
of
space
on
daytime
television.
And
anyone
who
watches
them
regularly
knows
that
each
one
varies
in
style
and
format.
But
no
two
shows
are
more
profoundly
opposite
in
content,
while
at
the
same
time
standing
out
above
the
rest,
than
the
Jerry
Springer
and
the
Oprah
Winfrey
shows.
Jerry
Springer
could
easily
be
considered
the
king
of
"trash
talk(废话)".
The
topics
on
his
show
are
as
shocking
as
shocking
can
be.
For
example,
the
show
takes
the
ever
-
common
talk
show
themes
of
love,
sex,
cheating,
guilt,
hate,
conflict
and
morality
to
a
different
level.
Clearly,
the
Jerry
Springer
show
is
a
display
and
exploitation
of
society's
moral
catastrophes,
yet
people
are
willing
to
eat
up
the
intriguing
predicaments
of
other
people's
lives.
Like
Jerry
Springer,
Oprah
Winfrey
takes
TV
talk
show
to
its
extreme,
but
Oprah
goes
in
the
opposite
direction.
The
show
focuses
on
the
improvement
of
society
and
an
individual's
quality
of
life.
Topics
range
from
teaching
your
children
responsibility,
managing
your
work
weekly,
to
getting
to
know
your
neighbors.
Compared
to
Oprah,
the
Jerry
Springer
show
looks
like
poisonous
waste
being
dumped
on
society.
Jerry
ends
every
show
with
a
"final
word".
He
makes
a
small
speech
that
sums
up
the
entire
moral
of
the
show.
Hopefully,
this
is
the
part
where
most
people
will
learn
something
very
valuable.
Clean
as
it
is,
the
Oprah
show
is
not
for
everyone.
The
show's
main
target
audience
are
middle
-
class
Americans.
Most
of
these
people
have
the
time,
money,
and
stability
to
deal
with
life's
tougher
problems.
Jerry
Springer,
on
the
other
hand,
has
more
of
an
association
with
the
young
adults
of
society.
These
are
18
-
to
21
-
year
-
olds
whose
main
troubles
in
life
involve
love,
relationship,
sex,
money
and
peers.
They
are
the
ones
who
see
some
value
and
lessons
to
be
learned
underneath
the
show's
exploitation.
While
the
two
shows
are
as
different
as
night
and
day.
Both
have
ruled
the
talk
show
circuit
for
many
years
now.
Each
one
caters
to
a
different
audience
while
both
have
a
strong
following
from
large
groups
of
fans.
Ironically,
both
could
also
be
considered
pioneers
in
the
talk
show
world.
1.
Compared
with
other
TV
talk
shows,
both
the
Jerry
Springer
and
the

A)
more
family
-
oriented
B)
unusually
popular
C)
more

D)

the
social

A)

by

B)
are
ready
to
face
up
to

C)

3.

of
the
following
is

of
the

A
new

of

B)
Racist
hatred.
C)

their
different

the
two

范文一:
When
it
comes
to
my
favorite
sports,
I
will
say
“basketball”
without
hesitation.
It
is
among
the
most
popular
sports
in
the
world
and
may
people
regard
certain
basketball
stars
as
their
idols.
In
China,
it
is
perhaps
YaoMing
that
cause
the
passion
for
basketball
throughout
the
nation.
The
reason
why
I
like
basketball
is
somehow
different
from
others.
While
most
people
enjoy
the
excitement
of
the
games,
what
I
really
enjoy
is
the
atmosphere
and
the
bounds
between
teammates.
Isn’t
it
a
touching
scene
that
all
members
on
the
team
struggle
together
for
the
same
goal?
Whether
the
result
of
the
game
is
delighting
or
disappointing,
the
days
when
we
trained
together
and
shared
our
happiness
and
tears
will
never
fade.
To
be
honest,
I
wasn’t
interested
in
sports
at
all
before
I
entered
high
school.
However,
on
account
of
lack
of
team
members,
I
was
forced
to
join
the
basketball
team
of
our
class.
Our
first
game
was
mess----we
lost
the
game
because
I
couldn’t
even
remember
the
rules.
I
was
ashamed
of
myself
and
planned
to
give
up,
but
my
teammates
all
came
to
comfort
me
instead
of
blaming
me
for
my
foolish
mistake.
“You
have
done
very
well
as
a
new
starter.”
they
said,
“Forget
the
result,
we
just
have
the
game
for
fun,
don’t
we?

Tears
burst
into
my
eyes,
and
since
then
I
have
tried
my
best
to
catch
up
with
my
teammates.
It
is
basketball
that
gives
me
the
most
valuable
friendship,
which
I
will
cherish
forever.

范文二:
As
a
girl
who
has
never
been
good
at
any
sports,
there
is,
however,
one
sport
activity
that
I
particularly
enjoy----playing
badminton.
The
reason
why
I
started
playing
badminton
was
rather
simple,
since
it
was
the
only
sport
that
I
could
possible
do
well
in.
I
used
to
play
badminton
with
my
grandma
on
weekends
when
I
was
was
in
primary
school.
From
missing
almost
every
ball
that
came
in
front
of
me
to
successfully
hitting
back
nearly
all
of
them,
I
actually
made
great
progress
in
those
years.
That
was
when
I
first
got
in
touch
with
badminton.
It
was
often
watching
badminton
games
that
made
me
extremely
fond
of
it.
My
grandma,
a
former
athlete
and
a
crazy
fan
for
sports
games,
enjoying
watching
badminton
games
on
TV
and
often
asked
me
to
join
her.
Seeing
the
determination
and
concentration
the
player
faces,
I
finally
understand
what
athletics
meant.
And
the
beautiful
lines
that
badminton
drew
in
the
air
made
me
realize
the
beauty
of
badminton.
It
was
then
that
I
completely
fell
in
love
with
it.
Busy
as
I
have
been
in
the
recent
years,
I
always
find
time
to
play
badminton
for
a
while,
whether
with
my
classmates
or
my
family.
I
feel
a
great
sense
of
happiness
every
time
I
play
it.
Playing
badminton
has
become
my
hobby
for
life.

答案及解析:
1.
C
上下文题根据下文的buck
teeth龅牙,可以推断出选C。
2.
B
语法题must
have表示肯定的推测;will
have
“将会拥有(将来时表
达法)”
;could
have
“可以有”
;do
have表示强调。故选B。
3.
D
词义辨析题smart
“聪明的,伶俐的,快的,敏捷的”
;intelligent“聪明的,有才智的,有头脑的”
;brilliant
“极聪明的,技艺精湛的,才华横溢的”。这三个近义词中只有brilliant可以修饰技能,而awful
“极坏
的,极讨厌的,可怕的”;不符合上下文。故选D。
4.
B
习惯用法题eye-catching
“引人注目的,令人注意的(尤指悦目
者)”。其余都是干扰项。
5.
D
词义辨析题四个词都表示场地,court
“(网球等的室内或室外)球
场”
;field
“辽阔的地方,原野,旷野”
;ground
“(泛指)场地”
:a
football/cricket/sports
ground;pitch
“(足球、曲棍球等的)球场”。此处谈论足球,故选D。
6.
A
习惯用法题score
the
goal
“进球”。
7.
B
习惯用法题a
series
“一系列”
;in
a
row
“一个接一个地,连续不断
地”
;at
a
time
“一次”
;in
a
sense
“从某种程度上说”。
8.
D语法题that,
which,
who只能充当关系代词,指代前面的名词并在
从句中充当主语或宾语。此处前面的名词为contribution,并不能充当下面
从句的主语。而what为名词性代词可以直接充当句子主语。此处句意为“本来似乎很糟糕的一个赛季现在却以大胜告终”。
9.
A
习惯用法题能与下文off搭配的词唯有show,
show
off
“展现,炫
耀”。
10.
C
词义辨析题kick
“踢”
;serve
“为(某人)工作,供职,服役(如
在军队里)”
;play

他在场上表现不是基于判断、冷静或勇气,而是improvisation临场反应。
14.
D
常识题shoot
or
pass
“射球或传球”。move,
run只是跑动,不涉及
球’与shoot不对称。
15.
B词义辨析题及上下文题根据上下文,因为没有时间考虑只能靠直觉
行动,可排除experience。instinct是指动物本能;intuition是在经验基础上
形成的直觉反应;impulse指一时冲动。故选B。
16.
B
逻辑关系及词义辨析题根据下文可判断此处为表示让步的从句,排
除when,
even。而while引导的让步状语从句在意义上一般与主句的对比
不太强烈,即主句与从句只是部分不一致;而although在表示让步语义时
是最为通用的从属连词,所引导的从句往往使主句内容含有似乎使人感到
意外或料想不到之意。例如:(1)
While
I
admit
his
good
points,
I
can
see
his
shortcomings.尽管我承认他的优点,我也能看到他的缺点。(2)
While
I
like
the
color
of
the
hat,
I
don't
like
its
shape.虽然我喜欢这顶帽子的颜色,但不
喜欢这种式样。(3)

had
asked
for
tea.虽然我要的是茶,他却给我端来一杯咖啡。
17.
C

“牛仔”
;good
boy
“好孩子”
;playboy
“花花
公子”
;college
boy
“学院派”。根据下文"he
broke
club
rules
by
going
out
and
enjoying
the
city's
nightlife."可选C。
18.
A
习惯用法题on
the
pitch
“在球场上”
;off
the
pitch
“下了球场,业余
时间”。

“(指人)不易取悦的,不易满足的,不易相处
的,不愿合作的,执拗的”
;cooperative
“有合作精神的”
;diligent
“勤
奋的”
;hard
“(政治斗争中)持强硬态度的,不妥协的”。根据下文“教练碰到的最大问题是一个队员不服从纪律会影响整个队伍的发挥。”
可见罗纳尔迪尼奥是一个不守规矩的人,故选A
20.
D

力)”

come
by

(A)
Of
all
the
audience
for
live
entertainment,
the
studio
variety
is
widely
considered
to
be
the
lowest
of
low.
I
have
heard
it
said
that
even
people
who
work
in
television
treat
studio
audience
with
scorn--
or,
as
one
cameraman
put
it,
“like
cattle”.
I
had
assumed
that
studios
were
made
up
of
silly
people
desperate
for
two
seconds
of
fame.
But
there’s
no
such
thing
as
a
typical
studio
audience.
They
come
from
all
classes,
professions
and
income
groups.
Television
tries
to
attract
different
types
of
people
for
different
types
of
programs.
Those
of
us
who
prefer
to
watch
television
from
home
can’t
see
why
anyone
would
want
to
watch
television
from
a
studio.
Why
would
anyone
bother
to
apply
for
tickets,
travel
for
long
distances,
and
suffer
hours
of
boredom
in
the
uncomfortableness
of
a
studio
just
to
watch
what
they
can
see
at
home?
One
theory
is
that
people
hope
that
for
a
second
they
might
appear
on
television.
I
didn’t
believe
this
until
I
spoke
to
Angela.
Why
had
she
come?
“It
was
a
chance
to
appear
on
television.”
Another
theory
is
that
people
are
curious
to
take
a
look
behind
the
scenes.
But
the
most
common
explanation
I
heard
was
simply
a
case
of
“a
friend
gave
the
ticket.”
Few
of
us
have
sat
in
as
studio
audiences,
yet
we
think
we
can
imagine
what
it
is
like.
You
sit
there,
jammed
among
strangers,
while
someone
flashes
cards
with
APPLAUD
or
LAUGH
on
them---
and
you
clap
or
laugh
accordingly.
This
may
reflect
the
reality
of
some
television,
but
not
all
by
any
means.
As
one
studio
manager
puts
it,
“we
always
assume
a
show
will
be
good
enough
not
to
need
these
signs.”
But
is
there
any
real
difference
between
what
you
experience
in
a
studio
and
what
you
see
on
your
television
at
home?
For
Claire,
sitting
in
a
studio
is
“more
exciting”,
while
Charlotte
likes
the
feeling
of
involvement
with
the
live
television.
“Last
year
I
saw
my
favorite
actor.
When
you
see
him
on
television
at
home
you
miss
out
a
lot.”

to
________.
A.
a
feeling
that
someone

not

respect
B.

C.

2.
What
are
typical
studio

like?
A.
They
are
silly.
B.
They
are
desperate
for
fame
C.
They
are
from
low-income
groups.
D.
They
are
selected
for
different
programs.
3.
Why
would
someone
flash
card
with
APPLAUD
or
LAUGH
on
studio
audiences?
A.
He
wants
them
to
think
that
the
program
is
good..
B.
He
wants
to
help
them
to
understand
the
show.
C.
He
wants
to
show
his
feeling
of
involvement
to
them.
D.
He
wants
TV
viewers
to
believe
that
the
program
is
excellent.
4.
Which
of
the
following
is
NOT
the
reason
for
people
to
become
studio
audiences?
A.
They
want
to
see
themselves
on
TV.
B.
They
expect
to
make
friends
with
their
favorite
actors
and
actresses.
C.
They
desire
to
experience
the
feeling
of
involvement
with
live
television.
D.
They
would
like
to
know
what
it
is
like
in

(B)
In
the
world
of
entertainment,
TV
talk
shows
have
undoubtedly
flooded
every
inch
of
space
on
daytime
television.
And
anyone
who
watches
them
regularly
knows
that
each
one
varies
in
style
and
format.
But
no
two
shows
are
more
profoundly
opposite
in
content,
while
at
the
same
time
standing
out
above
the
rest,
than
the
Jerry
Springer
and
the
Oprah
Winfrey
shows.
Jerry
Springer
could
easily
be
considered
the
king
of
"trash
talk(废话)".
The
topics
on
his
show
are
as
shocking
as
shocking
can
be.
For
example,
the
show
takes
the
ever
-
common
talk
show
themes
of
love,
sex,
cheating,
guilt,
hate,
conflict
and
morality
to
a
different
level.
Clearly,
the
Jerry
Springer
show
is
a
display
and
exploitation
of
society's
moral
catastrophes,
yet
people
are
willing
to
eat
up
the
intriguing
predicaments
of
other
people's
lives.
Like
Jerry
Springer,
Oprah
Winfrey
takes
TV
talk
show
to
its
extreme,
but
Oprah
goes
in
the
opposite
direction.
The
show
focuses
on
the
improvement
of
society
and
an
individual's
quality
of
life.
Topics
range
from
teaching
your
children
responsibility,
managing
your
work
weekly,
to
getting
to
know
your
neighbors.
Compared
to
Oprah,
the
Jerry
Springer
show
looks
like
poisonous
waste
being
dumped
on
society.
Jerry
ends
every
show
with
a
"final
word".
He
makes
a
small
speech
that
sums
up
the
entire
moral
of
the
show.
Hopefully,
this
is
the
part
where
most
people
will
learn
something
very
valuable.
Clean
as
it
is,
the
Oprah
show
is
not
for
everyone.
The
show's
main
target
audience
are
middle
-
class
Americans.
Most
of
these
people
have
the
time,
money,
and
stability
to
deal
with
life's
tougher
problems.
Jerry
Springer,
on
the
other
hand,
has
more
of
an
association
with
the
young
adults
of
society.
These
are
18
-
to
21
-
year
-
olds
whose
main
troubles
in
life
involve
love,
relationship,
sex,
money
and
peers.
They
are
the
ones
who
see
some
value
and
lessons
to
be
learned
underneath
the
show's
exploitation.
While
the
two
shows
are
as
different
as
night
and
day.
Both
have
ruled
the
talk
show
circuit
for
many
years
now.
Each
one
caters
to
a
different
audience
while
both
have
a
strong
following
from
large
groups
of
fans.
Ironically,
both
could
also
be
considered
pioneers
in
the
talk
show
world.
1.
Compared
with
other
TV
talk

both

more

oriented

unusually
popular
C)
more

relatively

the
social

A)
remain
fascinated
by
them
B)
are
ready
to
face
up
to
them
C)
remain
indifferent
to
them
D)
are

3.
Which
of
the
following
is

to
be
a

of
the

A)
A
new

of
robot.
B)
Racist
hatred.
C)
Family
budget

D)

4.

their
different
approaches,
the
two
talk
shows
are
both________.
A)
ironical
B)
sensitive
C)
instructive
D)
cynical
5.
We
can
learn
from
the
passage
that
the
two
talk
shows_______.
A)
have
monopolized
the
talk
show
circuit
B)
exploit
the
weaknesses
in
human

C)
appear
at

Read
and
choose
the
best
answer.
For
many
people
today,
reading
is
no
longer
relaxation.
To
keep
up
their
work
they
must
read
letters,
reports,
trade
publications,
interoffice
communications,
not
to
mention
newspapers
and
magazines;
a
never-ending
flood
of
words.
In
getting
a
job
advancing,
the
ability
to
read
and
comprehend
__51__
can
mean
the
difference
between
success
and
failure.
Yet
the
unfortunate
fact
is
that
most
of
us
are
__52__
readers.
Most
of
us
develop
poor
reading
habits
at
an
early
age,
and
never
__53__
them.
The
main
shortage
lies
in
the
actual
stuff
of
language
itself

words.
Taken
individually,
words
have
little__54__
until
they
are
strung
together
into
phrases,
sentences
and
paragraphs.
Unfortunately,
__55__,
the
untrained
reader
does
not
read
groups
of
words.
He
laboriously
read
one
word
at
a
time,
often
regressing
to
__56__
words
or
passages.
Regression,
the
tendency
to
look
back
over
what
you
have
just
read,
is
a
common
__57__
habit
in
reading.
Another
bad
habit
which
__58__
the
speed
of
reading
is
vocalization

sounding
each
word
either
__59__
or
mentally
as
one
reads.
To
overcome
these
bad
habits,
some
reading
clinics
use
a
device
called
an
accelerator,
which
moves
a
bar
(or
curtain)
down
the
page
at
a
predetermined
speed.
The
bar
is
set
a
slightly
__60__
rate
than
the
reader
finds
comfortable,
in
order
to
―__61__
him.
The
accelerator
forces
the
reader
to
read
fast,
making
word-by-word
reading,
regression
and
sub-vocalization,
practically
__62__.
At
first
comprehension
is
__63__
speed.
But
when
you
learn
to
read
ideas
and
concepts,
you
will
not
only
read
faster,
but
your
comprehension
will
improve.
Many
people
have
found
their
reading
skill
__64__
improved
after
some
training.
Take
Charles
Au,
a
business
manager,
for
instance,
his
reading

was
a
reasonably
good
172
words
a
minute
before
