Jason and Caden have been good "wagon pullers" since the second day of school. They are amazing and so great about taking turns pulling or pushing the wagon in the kindergarten game. The game needs everyone to work together to make the wagon move forward to the destination. Today, their teacher, Jenny, asked Jason if he could be a "teacher", to train a new student, Bradley, to pull the wagon.
Jason was so cute and said, "How about letting him be a pusher, not be a puller?" It was at very great idea, and Jason had good observation capability! He found Bradley wasn't quite strong enough to pull the wagon.
They took the job very seriously, and the moment touched Jenny very much. Jason was one of the youngest but very observant, kind, helpful and compassionate children!
Jason was the line leader and puller. Another child, Caden was the second in command and helped the line leader stay focused. Bradley was "the third in command "behind Caden.
Caden took Bradley under his wing, guiding him like a sweet border collie to push the wagon.
Several days later, Jason told Jenny, "I hope Bradley will become the wagon puller tomorrow. He should have the opportunity to improve his strength." Jenny nodded. What a sweet comment! It is so sweet to have a four-year-old child cheering on a peer, when kids of all ages fight to be the one to pull the wagon.
It was a kind, sweet group, and Jenny especially loved those moments. She also emailed the sweet stories to all the parents.
24. What did Jenny ask Jason to do?
A. Pull the wagon together with Caden. B. Train a new student to push the wagon.

C. The explanation of the complex relationship among the kids.
D. The introduction to the difficulty to drive the wagon.
26. What is the key to children's completing the game?
A. Ambition. B. Team spirit.
C. Patience. D. Good observation capability.
27. What can we learn from the text?
A. Jenny treated her students unfairly.
B. Jason was the only wagon puller in the game.
C. Caden was stronger than Jason in the kindergarten.
D. Bradley would be the wagon puller in the game the next day.

Movies were more than photographs and different from books. They transmitted romance, danger and comedy straight into your emotional bloodstream, with no need for translation and no cultural barriers. They were creating another world out there on the screen, a world of joy and sadness, laughter, romance, places far away in space and in time, heroes and heroines and ordinary people a world that moviegoers could enter and live other lives. They were giving our audience a common culture.
Over the decades, movies and movie theaters have survived many competing technologies that threatened their extinction, among them television, VHS tapes, DVDs and Blu-rays, and streaming. Through all of these worthwhile advances, people continued to leave their homes to watch movies in theaters. From 2010, just after streaming became important, to the beginning of 2020, the number of movie theaters nationwide remained nearly constant, going from 5,773 to 5,798. Annual ticket sales dropped by only 7 percent, from about 1.33 billion to about 1.24 billion.
Seeing a movie in a public theater on a giant screen, surrounded by other people, is not only entertainment. It is also an experience, a communal activity, a night out of the house almost everyone can afford.
Then came the covid-19 pandemic. Few industries have suffered more than movie theaters. The small number of theaters that remain open have seen attendance decline dramatically. If theaters do not survive, something irreplaceable will have been lost. We are social creatures. No matter how comfortable our living rooms and complex our technology we need community, we need physical contact with one another.
On the screen were the enduring themes of chivalry, good vs. evil, conquest and dominion, fashioned for our technological age. We moviegoers left the theater in crowds, talking to each other, sharing impressions, some of us speechless. But all of us felt that we now shared some magical bond. Lawmakers should act to save that magic.
28.In what respect are movies different from books?
A.They stand the test of time and space. B.They create a world of joy and sadness.
C.They bring emotions into your bloodstream. D.They are shared across languages and cultures.
29.Why did the author mention annual movie ticket sales drop?
A.To show the decline of film industries. B.To give evidence on the new social trend.
C.To indicate movie theaters remain popular. D.To prove the advances in other technologies.
30.What would be lost if theaters do not survive the pandemic?
A.A form of social bond between us. B.The level of comfort on the screen.
C.A dancing style of physical contact. D.The great joy of advanced technology.
31.What would the author probably agree to do about movie theatres?
A.To make laws to control them. B.To take action to support them.
C.To lay out plans for their expansion. D.To let them be part of our sweet memory.
D
Carbon is a chemical element which is present in organic compounds that make us organisms, plants as well as fossil. It is a vital component of the greenhouse gas CO2, the highest percentage of the global warming gas in the atmosphere.
These Green House Gases (GIIGs) along with other factors are responsible for the most discussed issues affecting the planet, climate change. Climate change has and still releases a huge set of environmental disasters which are fueling the difficulty of survival on the planet. In order to eliminate, reduce and adapt to these risks of survival, individuals, organizations, and countries will have to adopt carbon neutrality measures. The main aim of carbon neutrality is to achieve a net-zero emission either by balancing the emission or absorbing of carbon or quit the production of carbon. However, to really understand carbon neutrality, the carbon cycle should be first understood
The carbon cycle is the transfer of carbon through different media. Carbon has the ability to move in different media in different forms at different rates and tines. These different factors (rate, time, and media) are the phenomena underlying carbon neutrality. For instance, carbon released into the atmosphere by the rapid burning of fossil fills back as rain in the form of carbonate (碳酸盐) and is absorbed by the reservoirs (oceans, surface water, and the earth surface). Even though the exchange of carbon between some of these reservoirs takes a long time, some over 100 years, carbon was absorbed until now. The main problem existing today is that the emissions of CO2 are too high to be offset by the reservoirs, thereby leaving the offsetting task to us.
The European Union (EU) is taking all measures it can to offset carbon through Emission trading system which helps industries to manage their carbon footprints. Similarly, China, which is responsible for 25% of the world's CO2 emissions due to its economic and industrial structure is currently decreasing its energy consumption/GDP and CO2 emission/GDP, while increasing is forest cover and air quality through its 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) carbon neutrality actions.
32.What does the underlined word "fueling" in Paragraph 2 most probably mean?
A.Experiencing. B.Overcoming. C.Increasing. D.Ending.
33.How does the author explain the carbon cycle?
A.By giving an example. B.By comparing media.
C.By analyzing data. D.By describing a task.
34.What can be learned from the text?
A.GHGs take the whole blame for the climate change. B.Carbon exchange takes little time.
C.The contribution of the EU is not obvious. D.China las a clear goal in low-carbon efforts.
35.Which column is the text most likely taken from?
A.Politics. B.Environment. C.Commercial. D.Lifestyle.

An unforgettable experience
During the summer holidays this year, I got a job at a KFC fast food restaurant and worked there as a cleaner. I worked eight hours a day for four weeks.
Every day I started off for work early in the morning and got home late in the evening. The job was hard and boring, which made me nearly give it up halfway. Fortunately, one of my workmates was very humorous. He often told some joke to amuse me, which helped me to overcome the difficulty. Because my work was outstanding, the manager was content with me. Finally I finished the job before the new term began.
Although I was tired in the work, it helped me understand better what labor means. I think it is really an unforgettable experience.
