教材分析
人教新版(精通)小学英语教材中Fun Facts这一新的教学环节,不同于每单元后的Fun Story。Fun Story通常是以Micky和 Mimi作为主要人物,通过有趣并且简单的画面重现本单元的重点,比较适合低年级学生。它也不同于Fun Time 里面的Culture link,Culture link是文化链接,重点为学生们拓展中西方文化,生活,甚至饮食习惯方面的差异,是比较纯正的文化说明和解释,没有太多的故事情节。Fun Facts则是以奇闻趣事,名人轶事或者神话传说,构成的一个个小故事,并且以此为依托,对本单元的知识进行补充和说明,形成语篇,并且在语篇中,一些陌生单词也是层出不穷。
Fun Facts的教学目标主要包括以下方面:一是复习巩固单元语言学习重点;二是通过实际的阅读过程,逐步培养学生的阅读兴趣,提高英语阅读技能;三是开阔学生的视野,提高多元文化理解力和综合人文素养。本单元Fun Facts介绍的是太平洋上的“垃圾岛”。阅读要求:基础一般的学生,只要能积极阅读,理解部分内容或文段大意即可;中等水平学生应该能在理解文段大意的基础上了解更多细节;学有余力的学生,除了阅读文段并完成相应活动,还可以完成一些拓展性的任务。
二、学情分析
经过前面几年对英语的学习,五年级的学生已经有了一定的英语学习基础,也养成了一定的英语学习习惯。五年级的孩子处于活泼好动的阶段,喜欢交流,喜欢展示自己,即将升入六年级的他们也正在进入青春期,这个特殊的阶段会使孩子们更有好奇心。同时他们觉得自己长大了,所以也会变得更加有责任感。本节课每个环节都涉及了环保,这样可以有效地提高孩子们的环保意识,从小树立环保理念。
三、教学课例:
教学目标:
知识与技能目标:
1)正确认读以下短语:the Pacific Ocean,throw litter into,end up,a big island of litter,plastic things,get together,become,six times as big as England,get bigger and bigger,recycle
2)培养学生能够用句子简单表达环境保护,培养学生综合语言运用能力。
过程与方法目标:
通过小组合作的方式培养学生能够积极与他人合作,共同完成学习任务的学习策略。
通过垃圾分类,课本剧表演,废物利用,歌曲舞蹈的方式提高学生浓厚的英语学习兴趣。
情感态度价值观目标:
(1)培养学生能够积极主动参与到课堂中,大胆发言,提高英语学习自信心。
(2)培养学生不乱扔垃圾,垃圾分类,废物利用等环保意识。
教学重、难点:
重点:掌握文章复杂短语和句子。
难点:能够在真实语境中恰当使用所涉及词汇短语及句型与他人沟通。
教学准备:课件,评价垃圾分类卡片,各小组组名,小组任务道具等。
教学流程与教学设计:
StepⅠWarming-up
1、T: Class begins.
S: Stand up. Ss: Good morning, Miss Zhang!
T: Good morning, boys and girls. Sit down, please!
I have a picture of our earth.(出示板书地球图片贴到黑板)Do you know when is the Earth Day? Yes. You can find the answer in the picture.(课件中图片提示) April the twenty-second, is the Earth Day. We should save our earth together.
设计意图:开场介绍世界地球日,丰富学生课外知识,为后面学习做铺垫。
2、T:So I have a wonderful video about environment protection for you. Do you want to watch it?
Ss: Yes !
T: OK! Let’s share.(播放视频)
T: After watching, what do you think about the video?
S1: It is amazing! I like it very much!
T: I like it, too. A card for you. Save our world!
S2: It’s very good! Many people turn off the lights.
T: Yes. They do good things. A card for you.
S3: We should learn from them. When we leave the classroom, we should turn off the lights.
T: You are right. We should learn from them. And we should learn from you. A card for you, too.
S4: I want a more beautiful world.
T: Great! You are all good students. And you want to make our planet clean and beautiful.
设计意图:播放“地球熄灯一小时”活动视频,经过精心剪辑的来自全世界各地熄灯的视频,配合节奏感非常强的音乐,给孩子们带来视觉和听觉的冲击,是孩子们的注意力全都集中到课堂,同时也充分调动出学生们对于环保的热情。
3、T: But sometimes we do so many bad things to our earth. Now Let’s look some pictures. (垃圾图片,四张动物图片。搭配背景音乐,教师介绍)
T: Look! So much rubbish is thrown into the river, into the sea. It makes our beautiful home very dirty and very ugly. The animals’ home is full of litter. So they are calling for help. How many kinds of animals did you see? Who knows?
Ss: Four.
T: Yes, the answer is four. So I divide you into four groups. Each group helps one kind of animal. OK! Talk about which animal do you want to help?
Group 1, We want to help the turtle.
Group 2, We all like birds. They can fly. So we help the bird.
Group 3 The Seal is very lovely. Let’s help the seal.
Last one, We like eating the crabs. So we would like to help the crab.
T:Good reason! But please don’t eat in class. After the class, maybe you can enjoy yourselves.) (分别组名摆放到每组,并将四种动物贴到黑板起点。)
设计意图:通过观看可怜的小动物图片,使学生们产生想要帮助小动物们回家的想法,为后面积极的完成学习任务增加动力。每组帮助一种动物,也达到了分组的目的,学生们以小组的形式进行完成任务,有助于培养学生团队合作意识和能力。同时,每完成一个任务,小动物就向自己的家走一步,形成评价方式。
StepⅡPresentation
1、T: And do you know where do the animals live? They live in a litter island in the Pacific Ocean.(出示标题板书A Litter Island) The Pacific Ocean, Chinese meaning is “taipingyang”. It is the biggest ocean in the world. Now let’s learn more about the litter island.
Task 1 Fast-reading (提前将打印文本发给学生划生词。)
a. Read the text fast and softly.
b. Circle the new words.
c. Try to guess their meanings in the text and share them in your group.
T: When you finish, the group leader hands up. I will give you some help. You can get a mini-dictionary of the text. But you can’t find two new words in the dictionary. Please try to guess. OK! Are you ready? Ss: Yes!
T: Let’s begin! (播放音乐)(大部分读完画完生词讨论后,组长举手发“词典”。音乐止,停止任务)
T: Guessing Time!
What’s the Chinese meaning of ‘island’? A or B? Yes. The answer is B
What’s the Chinese meaning of ‘plastic’? A 塑料的 is the right answer.
T:Which group are both right? OK. Good job! Your animal can go one step. And the group leader can get a card from the box. Go on.
T: Look, they are all in different places of the circle. Now they come near, near, near……and they get together. Which group can act out ‘get together’?
Let the students act out ‘get together’.
T: Very good! Go back to your seats. Your animal can go one step. And your group can get one card.
T: There is a map. Which country is it? Ss: England.
T: Yes. The litter island is six times as big as England. Six times, give me your finger, One, two, three, four, five, six. How terrible! But it doesn’t stop. It’s still growing. Maybe today it’s small. But it will become big. And it is getting bigger and bigger. If we can’t stop it, maybe someday our home will be full of litter, too.
设计意图:授之以鱼不如授之以渔,在注重知识学习的同时,学习方法的培养更重要,本环节希望学生树立通过词典自学生词的意识,也希望学生学会小组内互相学习。通过理解上下文猜词义,动态图片,对比和表演等方式学习单词短语,激发学生学习兴趣,提高学习效率。第二种评价方式出现,印有保护地球和垃圾分类的彩色图片作为对学生个人的奖励,对学生的努力及时做出肯定,课后学生也可以根据本图片进行生活垃圾分类。
2、T:So we must do something. Let’s learn more about the litter island. Let’s help the animals to go home firstly.
Task 2 careful-reading
a. Read the first part carefully and slowly.
b. Fill in the blanks.
T:Please read the first part. carefully and softly. After reading, the group leader hands up. I will give you the animals. You can help them to go home. When you finish, put up your hands. Are you ready? Let’s go. (播放音乐,音乐止。)
T:Time’s up. Show me your answers. Ok! Who can read the first answer? Read the words.

T: Right. You can get a card from the box. S1 S2……
T: Great. All the animals go home. They say thank you to you. And ‘Bird’ Group is the first one finishing the blanks. So the bird in the blackboard can go three steps. The seal and the turtle can go two. And the crab can go one. Crab Group work hard, please. You still have chance in the next task.
设计意图:任务2 要求学生继续巩固学习短语,更好地理解文章。在本环节,学生对比任务1,会学到不同的阅读方式。将常规的填空改成和本课一致的帮助动物回家形式,学生在游戏中完成了学习任务。对于任务完成得又快又好的组根据情况进行阶梯奖励,完成不太好的继续鼓励,为下个任务做铺垫。
3、T: Find the paper of the questions. Let’s begin.(播放音乐)
Task 3 Scanning
a. Read the text quickly and quietly.
b. Underline the details related to the questions.

设计意图:继续学习不同的阅读方式,同时本环节为Fun Facts的期末考试题型,引导学生学会快速准确地找到问题的答案,也培养学生一边阅读一边做标记的好习惯。

Task 4 Recycling
T: There is a lot of garbage in our daily life. So we must learn to recycle them and classify them correctly. Do you know how to classify?

T: Really? Another video for you, let’s learn together.(播放垃圾分类视频)

Group Work
a. According to the video and the hints, classify the garbage in the task bag.
Make a short speech about environmental protection
b. According to the fun story of unit 3, make a new dialogue.
Act it out.
c. Recycle the old things in the task bag. DIY them into something new.

设计意图:让学生在准备过程复习中第三单元知识,温故知新,并且在表演中体会环境保护的意义。

设计意图:废物改造,将生活中常见的废物进行改造,让学生做生活的有心人,同时进行语言输出练习,展示自己。
Group 4 A cell phone for your group. Learn a song about environmental protection.
设计意图:将孩子们熟悉的音乐引进课堂,让学生唱出来,跳起来,充分调动学习积极性。将歌词换成押韵的环保口号,孩子们朗朗上口,深入人心,既锻炼了英语表达能力,也提高了环保意识,也希望课后能够成为宣传环保的形式。

设计意图:课堂应该是以学生为主体,经过“输入”的过程,将主动权交给学生,让学生们释放自己,输出语言。这不仅仅是检验知识的掌握情况,更是为了给孩子们提供培养综合语言运用能力的机会,也培养了学生对英语的兴趣。
Step Ⅳ Summary
T: We have finished all the group work. Now is magic time.(手指点击屏幕相应任务图片,图片消失,出现地球和‘Home’.)The earth is the animals’ home. And it is also our home. Let’s save our world together. Everyday should be the Earth Day!
设计意图:通过孩子们努力完成任务,让所有的小动物都顺利回家,孩子们在学习过程中获得成就感和满足感。同时让他们明白地球是我们共同的家园,每个人都应该保护地球,每一天都应该是地球日。

设计意图:引导学生利用网络学习,希望孩子们意识到网络除了进行游戏,还有很多值得探索的领域。也希望孩子们展开想象,利用所学的英语知识畅想未来。

四、教学反思
本节课的内容是太平洋上的垃圾岛,我以询问世界环境日日期开场,然后播放地球熄灯一小时视频。这样的安排使学生们知道了除了他们熟知的节日之外,还有专门的世界环境日,让学生们知道了全世界人都在为保护地球而努力。 紧接着用图片唤醒孩子们的同情心,通过帮助小动物回家,小动物们住在垃圾岛自然地引出题目,引出文章。
经过对教材和学生特点的分析,我选择了多种单词,短语的教学方式,这也符合课标提出的中小学阶段英语学习重在培养学生的学习兴趣。同样我也引导孩子们使用了不同的阅读形式,培养了阅读能力。在学习过程中,我采取了小组完成学习任务的形式,学生们之间可以互相帮助,互相促进,充分体会团队精神。最后不同小组完成不同的任务,避免了重复性任务的单一,也是为了激发学生学习英语的兴趣,并通过多种形式完成语言输出,享受英语学习过程。
本节课中,教师采用的教学评价方式有两个,一个是板书以各小组为单位的长久评价,一个是垃圾分类卡对个人的奖励评价。评价是小学英语课堂不可或缺的重要环节。评价可以调动学习积极性,增强学习动力,帮助孩子们树立自信,有助于反思及调整自己的学习过程,使学生能够明确努力方向。
课堂应该以学生为主,今后我会继续本着提高课堂效率的原则,尽可能更多的将课堂教给学生,给孩子们充分展示自己的时间。同时我也会多研究一些既高效,学生们又喜欢的教学方式,让孩子们学习英语越来越轻松,越来越自信。
从刚参加工作时觉得不知道讲课,到积累一些经验后,好像明白该怎样讲课了,再到经验越来越多,反而又觉得自己不会讲课了。作为教师,我要时刻提醒自己脚踏实地,实实在在的完成教学任务。当然,作为教师如果想实现上面的目标,就要不断学习,不断提高完善自己。为了上好课,我会继续努力去学习教育心理学,教育学,音乐,美术等知识,我也会向有经验的教师请教,让自己不断进步,不断成长。
