2. 让学生通过模仿和表演操练,最终达到能够用目标语言与同学进行交流的目的。
3. 通过参与教学活动,使学生在日常生活中可以给生病的同学提出建议,并培养学生注重养成良好的作息习惯和饮食习惯。

学习并使用目标语言:What’s wrong with you? I have a…You should take some medicine/stay in bed/drink more water/take a good rest.
教学 难点 对词组wait outside及句子It’s Kate’s turn.的理解。
对句子I hope you will get well soon.的理解与运用。

Step1. Warm-up. T: How are you today?
Ss: Fine.
T: S1, I know that you didn’t come to school yesterday.
与学生打招呼,进行自然的交谈,使学生明确本节课目标的同时,激发了学习的兴趣,活跃课堂。

S1: Thank you.
T: Others, have you ever had a… before?
Ss: Yes.
T: What do you do when you are ill?
S1: I sleep at home.
T: It’s your turn.
S2: I go to the doctor.
Step2. Presentation.
T: Our friend Kate is ill, too. She goes to the doctor with her mother. Look at this picture. What can you see in this hospital?
(Show the first picture of the dialogue. Ss have a discussion, and then talk about the picture with the teacher. )
S1: I can see Kate and her mother.
T: What is Kate doing?
Ss: She is standing.
T: So, next one will be Kate. We can say: It’s Kate’s turn.
Ss: It’s Kate’s turn.
(Teach “wait outside” in the same way.)
T: Now it’s Kate’s turn. She goes into the doctor’s room.
Can you guess the first question the doctor may ask?
(Talk about the first three questions the doctor may ask.)
S1: What’s your name?
S2: How old are you?
S3: What’s wrong with you?
(Stick “have a fever” and “have a headache” on the blackboard.)
T: Do you want to be the doctor?
Let’s play a game which is called “What’s wrong with you?”
T: Kate has a fever and a headache.
Can you give her some advice?
(Ss give their advice to Kate.)
S1: You should drink water.
S2: You should sleep.
S3: You should…
T: Would you like to know the doctor’s advice?
Ss: Yes.
(Watch the video.)
T: Look, what’s in my hand?
Ss: Medicine.
T: Yes. The first advice is “take some medicine”.
We can’t use “eat” here.
Ss: Take some medicine.
(Teach other three pieces of advice in the same way.)
T: Now, it’s your turn to act out this dialogue. Do you want to have a try?
Ss: Certainly.
(Ss act out the dialogue. )
Step3. Practice.
1. T: We can see many other patients in the hospital. Now, try to make a new dialogue according to the new patients.
(Give them the medical record. The doctors should finish it. )
T: Do you like taking medicine and going to the doctor?
Ss: No, we don’t.
T: So you should do the right thing to keep healthy.
关心学生的同时引出本课话题,并为后面突破难点进行铺垫。
学生自由回答,畅所欲言,引出本课课文情境“go to the doctor” 。
在问答过程中渗透It’s one’s turn.的意思和用法。
根据学生所说内容进行梳理和引导,为学习旁白部分进行铺垫。
通过让学生回忆自己看医生时医生会问的三个问题引出对话,既调动了学生参与课堂的积极性又将课文对话自然引出,使课文教学紧贴生活实际。
通过角色扮演并猜病情的游戏形式操练对话,同时复习旧知识拓展新词汇。
启发学生主动思考,充分体现学生在课堂中的主体地位,调动学生的积极性。
由学生提建议引到医生的建议。以观看动画的直观形式让学生了解医生提出的四条建议并进行教学。
根据新的病人创编新的对话,巩固本课所学对话结构的同时进行拓展训练,使学生将所学知识熟练应用于实际交流之中。
培养学生注重养成良好的作息习惯和饮食习惯。
