Lesson 10 Music and Dance
Teaching goals
1. Instructional objectives (language knowledge and language skills)
(1) Most students can listen and understand the meaning of new words realize, rich, western, violin,dancer and can read them correctly according to the English sounds.
(2) Most students can understand the meaning of 搕hink about, can抰 wait to do,play music,I hope so. and can use them to make sentences.
(3) Some students can read and role-play the dialogue in right sound tone consciously.
(4) Some students can use 揧ou are a good dancer. or 揧ou will be a great erhu player. to praise others.
2. Educational objectives (learning strategy and cultural awareness)
(1) Arouse students interest in the history and culture of China.
(2) Learn the way of western people to praise and encourage others.
(3) Appreciate the joy of learning English.
(4) Build students confidence to show themselves.
Analysis of the students
七年级学生已经学过一般现在时态和will引导的一般将来时态,也在本单元前几课已接触了一般过去时态。大部分学生都能理解一般过去时和一般将来时的应用场合,只是在实际应用上会有一些难度,这就要求教师在引入的时候要多从学生的角度思考,多想办法,多创设适合他们的年龄特征的,能调动他们的兴趣的教学模式,情景寓于教学中,使他们能学中乐,乐中学。

1. Students can read the new words and know the meaning of the words.
2. Be able to read the dialogue in right sound tone.
3. Use the structure “You are a good dancer. ” and “You will be a great erhu player.” to praise praise and encourage others.

五. Teaching procedures
Step1: Lead in
T: Hello, everyone! How are you today? Did you have a good rest? Today we will start a new lesson-----lesson 10. Do you like music? What music do you like? Can you dance? (ask 3 students to answer these questions.)
T: Now look at the pictures, do you know what they are? (show some pictures of different kinds of instruments. Enjoy some soft music.)
Step2: New words
Realize, rich, western, violin, dancer. (ask someone to try to read them one by one.) And then I will read them to the students. Read aloud together and try to remember them. Take a quiz. (use the word cards.)
Step3: Presentation
I抦 still thinking about our trip to the Silk Road.我还在想我们的丝绸之路之旅。think about=think of 考虑 think over仔细考虑
eg: Mr.Liu gave us five minutes to think about the question.
刘老师给了我们五分钟考虑这个问题。
2. I can’t wait to play music for all my friends. 我都等不及为我所有的朋友演奏音乐了。
(1) can’t wait to do sth 迫不及待做某事
eg: I can’t wait to go to Beijing.
我迫不及待想去北京。
(2) play music 演奏音乐
eg: He wants to play music for his mum.
他想为他的妈妈演奏音乐。
注意:Play + the +乐器 Play +棋类/球类
play the erhu 拉二胡 play basketball 打篮球
play the piano 弹钢琴 play football 踢足球
play the violin 拉小提琴 play ping-pong 打乒乓球

eg: We must learn from Lei Feng.

eg: Let’s take part in the basketball game together.

join 指“参加”某种组织,而成为其中的一员。
