第二节
书面表达(满分25分)
Dear
David,
I
am
writing
to
apologize
to
you
for
not
being
able
to
accompany
you
to
climb
mountain
this
Saturday
as
planned.
The
reason
why
I
will
fail
to
go
with
you
is
that
I
will
attend
a
family
get-together
this
Saturday
when
my
brother
Tim
will
return
home
from
Shanghai.
Actually,
Tim
and
I
grew
up
together
and
had
good
relationship,
but
later
he
went
to
Shanghai.
Therefore,
I
miss
him
so
much.
It
is
very
exciting
for
me
to
see
him
again
after
a
year.
I
hope
you
can
understand
my
situation
and
accept
my
apology.
Would
you
mind
if
I
suggested
we
go
climbing
mountain
next
weekend?
Please
let
me
know
whether
it
is
convenient
for
you.
Sorry
again
for
the
change.
Yours

M:
You
look
so
tired
all
the
time.
W:
Maybe
I
should
start
doing
exercise.
That
will
make
me
look
more
energetic.

W:
Good
morning!
I’ll
see
you
later.
M:
When
will
you
be
back?
W:
Early
this
evening.

W:
Are
you
expecting
something?
M:
Yeah,
I’m
waiting
for
a
decision
letter
about
my
plan
of
the
program.

W:
I
wish
I
could

well.
M:
Why
don’t
you
take
lessons?
W:
They
cost
too
much.

W:
What’s
the
matter?
Didn’t
you
and
Jason
have
a
good
time
while
I
was
away?
M:
It
was
interesting.
He
wanted
to
eat
all
of
the
cookies
and
I
told
him
no.
He
became
angry.

M:
This
cup
is
beautiful!
Did
you
buy
it
in
the
shop
around
the
corner?
W:
Yes.
I
also
bought
my
nephew
a
notebook
for
his
15th
birthday
there
last
month.
He
really
likes
cartoons,
and
the
notebook
is
on
that
subject.
The
shop
owner
treats
his
customers
very
well.
M:
That`s
true,
and
the
owner
has
many
ideas.
It
seems
as
if
he
knows
what
the
young
want.
More
importantly,
the
prices
of
the
goods
are
reasonable.
W:
I
couldn`t
agree
more.
Although
the
shop
isn`t
very
well
located,
it
attracts
many
students,
especially
girls.
So,
did
you
buy
something
there?
M:
Yes.
I
bought
a
wallet
last
week.
I
will
show
you.
W:
Wow,
it
looks
nice!

M:
Hello,Mrs
Smith.
You
look
pale.
What`s
wrong
with
you?
W:
Yesterday
when
I
got
home
from
work
I
had
a
small
headache,
so
I
took
some
pills
and
went
to
bed
early.
This
morning
I
felt
I
even
couldn`t
get
up,
so
I
called
you.
M:
OK.
Let
me
first
take
your
temperature.
Do
you
feel
breathless
or
dizzy
now?
W:
No,
I
just
feel
weak
and
sleepy.
M:
Don`t
worry,
Mrs
Smith.
You
just
have
a
high
fever.
I
will
give
you
some
medicine,
and
your
need
to
have
a
good
rest
and
ask
for
leave
by
phone.
W:
Thank
you
very
much.
M:
Lie
down
and
I
will
get
you
a
glass
of
water
before
I
go.

W:
Hello,
is
that
Doctor
Smith?
It`s
very
urgent.
M:
Yes,
speaking.
Who
is
that,
and
what`s
the
problem?
W:
This
is
Lucy,
Mrs.
Stephere`s
granddaughter.
I
am
sorry
to
disturb
you
so
late,
but
my
grandmother
has
had
another
heart
attack
and
she
has
lost
consciousness.
Please
come
as
soon
as
possible.
M:
I
see.
Before
I
arrive,
you
can
do
some
first
aid
to
help
her.
Don`t
move
her,
and
find
the
while
pills
that
your
grandmother
usually
takes.
Give
her
four
pills
right
now.
Open
the
windows
to
let
some
fresh
air
in.
I
will
be
there
in
five
minutes.
W:
Should
I
call
an
ambulance
now?
M:
Yes,
you
should
call
an
ambulance
in
case
we
have
to
send
your
grandmother
to
the
nearest
hospital.

W:
I
heard
that
garbage
disposal
is
a
major
problem
in
most
cities
around
the
world.
M:
Yes,
finding
places
for
garbage
is
getting
more
and
more
difficult.
Recycling
is
,
therefore,
becoming
very
popular.
In
fact,
many
types
of
glass
and
cloth,
even
our
shoes
can
be
recycled.
W:
That
reminds
me.
I
have
many
old
books.
Can
they
be
recycled?
M:
Of
course.
But
I
think
there
is
a
better
way
to
deal
with
them.
Most
charity
shops,
some
libraries
and
schools
will
accept
second-band
books
if
they
are
in
good
condition.
W:
Good
idea.
I
could
save
a
lot
of
space
if
I
got
rid
of
them.
What
about
magazines?
M:
They
also
can
be
recycled.
Or
you
can
contact
local
doctors,
dentists`
surgeries
or
hospitals,
to
see
if
they
would
welcome
magazine
donations
for
their
waiting
rooms.
W:
There
is
a
hospital
near
my
home.
I`ll
call
and
ask.

W:
Good
afternoon,
everyone.
Today
we`ve
invited
Mr.
Wang
to
give
us
a
speech
about
the
Harbin
Ice
Festival.
M:
Good
afternoon,
everyone.
The
Harbin
Ice
Festival
is
one
of
the
world`s
four
largest
ice
and
snow
festivals,
along
with
Japan`s
Sapporo
Snow
Festival.
Canada`s
Quebec
City
Winter
Carnival,
and
Norway`s
Ski
Festival.
The
festival
officially
starts
on
January
the
5th
every
year,
but
the
locals
begin
to
celebrate
the
festival
in
the
third
week
of
December
of
the
previous
year
because
most
of
the
ice
lanterns,
ice
and
snow
sculptures
are
completed
by
this
time.
Depending
on
the
weather
conditions
and
activities,
the
festival
usually
lasts
until
the
end
of
February.
As
early
as
the
1980s,
the
ice
lanterns
in
Harbin
were
known
about
by
many
tourists
from
all
over
China.
The
unique
snow
and
cultural
activities
have
been
the
subject
of
the
government`s
attention.
When
government
officers
met
tourists
from
Taiwan,
Hong
Kong
and
Macau
they
found
that
their
guests
were
very
excited
about
Harbin`s
ice
lanterns,
ice
culture,
winter
activities
and
snow,
and
then
they
had
an
idea
about
holding
an
ice
and
snow
festival
to
promote
Harbin`s
tourism.
The
officers
came
up
with
this
idea
in
October
1983.
after
more
than
a
year`s
effort,
their
suggestion
was
accepted
by
both
the
Harbin
Municipal
Government
and
Heilongjiang
Provincial
Government.
On
January
5,
1985,
the
first
Ice
Lantern
Show
was
declared
open
at
Zhaoling
Park.
