Present
Ask three students for different school objects. Say: May I have a pencil? Thank you. May I borrow a book? Thanks. May I have an eraser? Thank you.
Return the objects to the students and tell them that today they will learn how to ask for something and give thanks in English. Then make up a dialogue:
Teacher:Do you know what to say after someone says “thank you ”in English?student:You are welcome. Teacher:Very good .It’s not polite to just ask for something. We should say “thank you ”and “you are welcome”.

Play the audiotape for Lesson 5 and complete the activities.
Listen and Read
Play the audiotape for Lesson 5.Ask the class to listen and read aloud with the audiotape.
Break it down

Practice and play
Play Chain game. Ask the groups to sit a circle to play the game. Student A:May I have(number)(object),(student’s name)? Student B: Sure. Here you are.

Listen and do the actions
Class work: Before you play the song, review the actions with the class. Say each action as you do it and ask the class to imitate you. Teacher: Stand up! Class: Stand up! Play the audiotape for Stand up, Sit down and ask the class to imitate you as you do the action. They don’t have to sing the song, but encourage your students to try.
STEP III class closing
Assign homework: Complete Let’s Do It! No.2. The students should draw a picture of the things they keep in their schoolbag and label it.
