Step 1. Leading in
Show the students some pictures about how to plant a seed, which we have learned
at the beginning of this unit. Then ask them to talk about the basic steps about it.
Designing purpose: Arouse the students interest and curiosity about the topic of
plants by showing them the pictures, and it can be smoothly shifted to the new topic --- how does the plant grow?
Show the title: Lesson 12. Danny抯 plant
Show the teaching aims.
Step 2. New vocabulary
Show the students new words with the help of some pictures and some real flowers in the pots. So that the students can understand the meaning of new words quickly.
Designing purpose: New vocabulary can help the students understand the passage better and describe how does the plant grow smoothly.
Step 3. Listening
Listen to the three paragraphs and fill in the blanks.

Step 4. Reading
Before reading the following part of this passage, I will show the students a small video, which is about the process of the plant抯 growth. With the help of the video, students can understand it intuitively.
Read the following part of this passage quickly and find the answers to these questions.
What grows at the top of the stem? Where will Danny put the pot? Why?
What does Danny want to send to Li Ming?
Read the whole passage carefully and put the steps of plant抯 growing in the correct order.

Step 5. Group work

I think blackboard design should draw the students attention easily. Besides, it can
also make the students master the key points of this lesson quickly. in order to
show the main ideas, I designed a mind map. I think the students will like it and
take notes easily.

In this lesson I mainly used the following teaching methods: Task-based teaching
method and situational teaching method. In every step I try my best to create
different situations to make students practice more. Students can participate in the
Activities with high passion, I think such class is lively and interesting. So that the
students can develop their skills of reading, speaking and listening.
