Lesson 30: A Cookie Sale
Ⅰ. Analysis of teaching material:
In this unit, students will learn how to raise money for their school activities. They will learn to analyze and discuss their interests and strength and find out what makes each one of them succeed. They will also learn to terms of business in English. Students will practice giving conversations based on buying and selling.

These students are the eighth graders, and they are interested in English, and have the ability of thinking more deeply.

②Students are able to improve their reading speed with the help of the lesson’s meaning.
③Students are able to understand the writer’s writing purpose.

①To foster the students’ sense of loving and helping the people around them.

Step 1: Warming-up:
1、Dictation: write down the words of the Lesson29.
2、Ask students to think about two questions:
(1) What event or activity from this school term is most memorable to you?
(2) What did you do before helping someone?
Step 2: Presentation:
Show them the new words and phrases by using some sentences and pictures. And then train them to know the meanings of the words and phrases with the help of the contest.
Step3: Reading
1、Read and fill in the blanks according to the first e-mail.
Recently Jenny, Danny and Brian were very busy! They _________________ for the school basketball team. Brian baked cookies and Jenny made a poster for the cookie _____. Everyone knew about it.
