Step I Presentation(新授部分)
1展示一张世界地图并提问:Here's a map of the world. Look at it and tell me the countries you know about.尽可能列举一些熟识的国家,如:the USA、the UK等。复习七年级下册中学过的国家名称。
2展示一些印有白宫、埃菲尔铁塔、塞纳河、悉尼歌剧院、悉尼港湾大桥的明信片或图片,了解它们:Look at the postcard/picture in my hand. Do you know the name of this famous building? Do you know where it is?回答问题,同时将答案写在黑板上朗读,如:the White House (Washington D.C., the USA),确保正确掌握其发音。
3呈现:the Eiffel Tower、the River Seine (Paris, France), the Sydney Opera House、the Harbour Bridge (Sydney, Australia)。
Step II Practice(操练)
1小组内用一至两分钟朗读A部分中的一张明信片。在提到的地点下划线,并在旁边注明其所在的国家和城市。
2轮流向其他小组的学生讲解各自的明信片,并完成匹配练习。全班集体核对答案。
3提问:
Who sent the first postcard? (Nick.)
Which city did he go to? (Sydney.)
What did he see there?
(The famous Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.)就每一张明信片上的内容作全面的解释。
4用同样的方式进行其他两张明信片上的信息的问答。
Step III Presentation(新授部分)
1通过语言创设情景:After reading the postcards from his friends, Simon searched on the Internet for some information about places around the world. Which place of interest are Simon and Amy talking about?播放B部分录音。
2带着问题听录音:
How long is the Golden Gate Bridge? (About 1.7 miles.)
How wide is the bridge? (It's 90 feet wide.)
3 Please repeat after the tape.
4 Now this half of the class will read Amy's part and the other half will read Simon's part. Then we change parts.
Step IV Act out (表演)
1根据一些世界著名景点的关键信息,设计一段对话,介绍这些景点。可以模仿B部分的对话。
2两人一组上台表演。

1 If you have some free time, what are you going to do?提醒用"I'm going to… 回答。

Step II Practice(操练)
1 播放漫画部分录音,听后对照猜测的答案- Now let's listen to the conversation between Eddie and Hobo and see if your answers are right.
2再次播放录音,听后回答更多问题:
Is Eddie really going to climb the hill? (No, he isn't.)
What is he going to do? (He is going to eat some food.)
Step III Presentation(新授部分)
1 Now open your books, please. Let's repeat Eddie and Hobo's conversation after the tape.
2让男生和女生分角色朗读,注意模仿语音语调:Now the boys will be Eddie and the girls will be Hobo. Read the conversation. Pay attention to your pronunciation and intonation.
3 Practise the conversation in pairs. You have five minutes. You can add your own ideas if you want.
4选不同层次的学生上台表演,表演结束后给予评价和表扬。

Step II While-reading(阅读中)
1 Linda went to the World Park in Beijing with the Class I, Grade 8 students. She wrote an email to her parents. Do you want to know what she did and what she saw there?
2 How did Linda feel about the visit to the World Park?快速阅读,用自己的话描述Linda的总体参观感受。
3完成B1部分的练习。
4播放录音,边听边完成B3部分的判断正误练习,并更正含有错误信息的句子。

Step II Presentation(新授)
1呈现wonderful, cheerful 等词。
2找出上述形容词的相同之处,即都在名词后加上-ful后缀。后缀-ful的意思是full of或having the qualities of。
3 教师可以举简单的例子,让学生说出带有-ful后缀的单词,如:Do you think English is useful? Surely it's useful.
4鼓励想出一些反义词的例子。
5后缀-less的意思是without, —般来说,名词加上-ful和-less后缀构成的两个单词互为反义词。
6学习课本第39页上部的表格。
Step III Practice(操练)
1完成A部分的练习,注意有些形容词的变化是不规则的,有些只能加-ful,有些只能加-less,有些则两个都不能加。
2根据A部分的名词,说出其形容词及反义词。
3完成B部分的练习读出完整内容。

1用课件呈现下面的短文,写出划线形容词的反义词。注意有些名词不能加-ful和-less后缀。
