Step 1.Warm-up:Think about these questions
How many Olympic events do you know?What are they?
What抯 your favourite event?
Who is your favourite athlete?
Step2.New words
Show some pictures about the new words.Read and practice the new words.
Step3.Listening
Listen to the passage and correct the pronunciation.
Listen to the dialogue and answer this question,Is the diving team China抯 only dream team?
[设计意图] 加深同学们对课文内容的理解,学生们带着问题有目的地倾听,更容易把握文章大概内容。
Step4.Reading
1.Ask the students to read the text and then finish Exercise 1 in “Let’s Do It!”.Several minutes later,ask the students to check the answers in the class.

[设计意图] 熟读课文,完成练习,提高自己的阅读能力。
2.Ask the students to read after the tape.Then ask them to read the dialogue aloud in pairs and then pick out the useful phrases.Explain the key phrases to them.
