My
motivation
for
starting
our
family
tradition
of
reading
in
the
car
was
purely
selfish:
I
could
not
bear
listening
to
A
Sesame
Street
Christmas
for
another
10
hours.
My
three
children
had
been
addicted
to
this
cassette
on
our
previous
summer’s
road
trip.
As
I
began
to
prepare
for
our
next
500-mile
car
trip,
I
came
across
a
book
Jim
Trelease’s
The
Read
Aloud
Handbook.
This
could
be
the
answer
to
my
problem.
I
thought.
So
I
put
Roald
dahl’s
James
and
the
Giant
Peach
into
my
bag.
When
I
began
to
read
aloud
the
tale
of
the
boy
who
escapes
the
bad
guys
by
hiding
inside
a
giant
peach,
my
three
kids
argued
and
wrestled
in
their
seats.
But
after
several
lines,
they
were
attracted
into
the
rhythm
of
the
words
and
began
to
listen.
We
soon
learned
that
the
simple
pleasure
of
listening
to
a
well-written
book
makes
the
long
miles
pass
more
quickly.
Sometimes
the
books
we
read
became
highlights
of
the
trip.
I
read
Wilson
Rawls’s
Summer
of
the
Monkeys
as
we
spent
two
days
driving
to
the
beach.
We
arrived
just
behind
the
power
crews
restoring
(恢复)
electricity
after
a
tropical
storm.
The
rain
continued
most
of
the
week,
and
the
beach
was
covered
with
oil
washed
up
by
the
storm.
When
we
returned
home,
I
asked
my
son
what
he
liked
about
the
trip.
He
answered
without
hesitation,
“The
book
you
read
in
the
car.”
Road
trips
still
offer
challenges,
even
though
my
children
now
are
teenagers.
But
we
continue
to
read
as
we
roll
across
the
country.
And
I'm
beginning
to
see
that
reading
aloud
has
done
more
than
help
pass
the
time.
For
at
least
a
little
while,
we
are
not
shut
in
our
own
electronic
worlds.
And
maybe
we’ve
started
something
that
will
pass
on
to
the
next
generation.
4.
Why
did
the
author
start
reading
in
the
car?
A.
She
wanted
to
have
a
better
journey.
B.
She
wanted
to
keep
a
family
tradition
C
Her
children
were
addicted
to
music.
D.
She
wanted
to
kill
the
time.
5.
How
did
the
children
react
after
the
author
read
a
few
lines?
A.
They
kept
quarrelling.
B.
They
hid
themselves.
C.
They
soon
settled
down.
D.
They
continued
to
fight
in
their
seats.
6.
What
can
we
learn
about
the
author
and
her
family’s
trip
to
the
beach?
A.
They
were
caught
in
a
storm.
B.
They
enjoyed
reading
on
the
road.
C.
They
had
a
good
time
on
the
beach.
D.
They
thought
it
had
passed

quickly.
7.
Which

be
the

Pinocchio
may
be
just
a
children’s
fairy
tale,
but
Spanish
scientists
at
the
University
of
Granada
recently
investigated
this
so-called
“Pinocchio
effect”
and
found
that
our
noses
don’t
grow
when
we
tell
a
lie,
but
actually
shrink
a
bit.
Dr.
Gómez
Milán
and
his
team
developed
a
lie
detector
test
that
used
thermography
(温度记录法)
to
tell
if
people
were
lying,
and
found
that
whenever
participants
in
their
research
were
being
untruthful,
the
temperature
of
the
tip
of
their
nose
dropped
up
to
1.2℃,
while
the
temperature
of
their
forehead
increased
up
to
1.5℃.
Scientist
also
found
that
drop
in
temperature
at
nose
level
actually
caused
it
to
slightly
shrink,
although
the
difference
is
undetected
by
the
human
eye.
“One
has
to
think
in
order
to
lie,
which
rises
the
temperature
of
the
forehead,”
Dr.
Gómez
Milán
explained
the
findings.
“At
the
same
time
we
feel
anxious,
which
lowers
the
temperature
of
the
nose.”
For
this
study,
researchers
asked
a
number
of
60
students
to
perform
various
tasks
while
their
temperature
is
scanned
by
thermal
imaging
(热成像)
technology.
One
of
these
tasks
required
making
a
3
to
4
minutes
call
to
their
parents
or
a
friend
and
telling
a
significant
lie.
Participants
had
to
make
up
the
lie
themselves
during
the
call.
Interestingly,
this
lie
detector
picked
up
the
“Pinocchio
effect”
temperature
difference
in
80
percent
of
the
test
subjects,
which
is
a
better
rate
of
success
than
that
of
any
modern
lie
detector.
“With
this
method
we
have
achieved
to
increase
accuracy”,
said
Dr.
Gómez
Milán,
who
added
that
law
enforcement
interviewers
could
one
day
combine
other
lie
detection
technology
with
thermal
imaging
to
achieve
better
results.
8.
Why
does
the
writer
talk
about
Pinocchio
in
the
first
paragraph?
A.
To
tell
a
fairy
tale.
B.
To
give
an
example.
C.
To
talk
about
a
scientist.
D.
To
introduce
the
topic.
9.
What
is
“Pinocchio
effect”?
A.
Our
noses
will
shrink
when
we
tell
a
lie.
B.
Our
noses
will
grow
when
we
tell
a
lie.
C.
The
temperature
of
the
forehead
falls
if
we
lie.
D.
The
temperature
of
the
student
rises
for
anxiety.
10.
How
did
Dr.
Gómez
Milán
feel
about
the
lie
detector?
A.
Confident.
B.
Surprised.
C.
Doubtful
D.
Puzzled..
11.
What
lesson
can
we
learn
from
the
text?

lie
will
travel
very
hard.
B.
Truth
is
better
than
lie.
C.
Many
ways
to
bring

One
in
five
women
and
one
in
eight
men
are
becoming
more
tired
and
less
productive,
according
to
a
new
Australian
study
on
mobile
phone
use.
Led
by
the
Queensland
University
of
Technology
in
Australia
researchers
surveyed
709
mobile
phone
users
across
the
country
aged
18
to
83
and
asked
them
a
series
of
questions
based
on
a
similar
study
13
years
ago.
Identifying
a
phenomenon
"technoference
(科技干扰)",
researchers
discovered
a
significant
increase
in
people
blaming
their
devices
for
losing
sleep,
becoming
less
productive
and
even
getting
more
aches
and
pains".
According
to
the
study's
lead
author
Dr
Oscar
the
issue
is
so
bad
that
24
percent
of
women
and
15
percent
of
men
are
now
considered
to
be
"
problematic
mobile
phone
users".
"When
we
talk
about
technoference,
we're
referring
to
the
everyday
intrusions
(侵入)and
interruptions
that
people
experience
due
to
mobile
phones
and
their
usage,"
he
said.
"Our
survey
found
technoference
had
increased
among
men
and
women.
For
example,
self-reports
relating
to
the
loss
of
sleep
and
productivity
showed
that
these
negative
outcomes
had
significantly
increased
during
the
last
13
years.
This
finding
suggests
that
mobile
phones
are
potentially
increasingly
affecting
aspects
of
daytime
functioning
due
to
lack
of
sleep.
"
Compared
to
a
2005
study,
"technoference"
issues
for
18
to
24-year-old
experienced
a
surprising
40.
9
percent
rise,
while
those
aged
25
to
29
also
recorded
a
dramatic
increase
of
23.
5
percent.
Oscar
said
that
with
the
number
of
smartphone
users
around
the
world
expected
to
surpass
2.
5
billion
before
the
end
of
this
year,
the
problem
of
"technoference"
could
get
even
worse.
"The
speed
and
depth
of
smartphone
take-up
makes
our
population
particularly
vulnerable
to
some
of
the
negative
consequences
of
high
mobile
phone
use."
he
said.
"Rapid
technological
innovations
have
led
to
dramatic
changes
in
today's
mobile
phone
technology,
which
can
improve
the
quality
of
life
for
phone
users
but
also
result
in
some
negative
outcomes.
"
12.
How
are
people
affected
by
technoference
according
to
the
text?
A.
It
makes
people
addicted
to
communicating
online.
B.
It
pushes
people
to
work
at
a
fast
pace.
C.
It
causes
people
to
sleep
less
at
night.
D.
It
brings
negative
outcomes
to
people
of
all
ages.
13.
Which
group
are
most
influenced
by
smartphones?
A.
Young
women.
B.
Young
man
C.
Children.
D.
Seniors.
14.
What
does
the
underlined
word
"vulnerable"
in
paragraph
5
probably
mean?
A.
Widely
spread.
B.
Easily
hurt.
C.
Deeply
devoted
D.
Absolutely
accustomed.
15.
What
does
the
text
mainly
talk
about?
A.
The
increasing
side
effects
of
smartphones.
B.
Ways
to
solve
technoference
problem.
C.
Smartphones
and
people's
happiness.
D.
The
popularity
of
smartphones.

We
know
that
choosing
a
college
major
can
be
very
hard.
But
have
no
fear!
Your
choice
of
major
will
not
lock
you
into
a
specific
career
for
the
rest
of
your
life.
Here's
what
you
need
to
know
about
college
majors
before
you
commit.
What
is
a
major?
___16___Beyond
general
college
requirements,
you'll
also
take
a
group
of
courses
in
a
subject
of
your
choosing
such
as
Chemistry,
Literature,
or
Political
Science.
How
important
is
my
major?
The
major
you
choose
will
neither
predict
nor
guarantee
your
future.
Many
graduates
find
jobs
that
have
nothing
to
do
with
what
they
studied
in
college.
If
you
intend
to
earn
a
professional
degree
after
college,
you
will
probably
need
certain
courses.
___17___
When
do
I
declare
a
major?
This
varies
widely
across
schools
and
programs.____18____Others
require
that
you
declare
upon
a
major
by
the
time
that
you
set
foot
inside
your
first
class.
___19___
Definitely.
One
of
the
most
exciting
aspects
of
college
life
is
that
it
introduces
you
to
new
subjects
and
arouses
new
passions.
However,
keep
this
in
mind.
Every
major
has
necessary
coursework.
If
you
change
your
major
late
in
the
game,
it
may
take
more
than
the
traditional
four
years
to
earn
a
degree.
What
are
minors
and
double
majors?
If
one
field
of
study
doesn’t
satisfy
your
intellectual
appetite,
consider
a
minor.
A
minor
is
similar
to
a
major
in
that
it’s
an
area
of
academic
concentration.___20___A
double
major
provides
you
with
an
understanding
of
two
academic
fields.
It
allows
you
to
become
familiar
with
two
sets
of
values
and
views
while
it
also
requires
you
to
fulfill
two
sets
of
requirements.
A.
Can
I
change
my
mind?
B.
Is
my
major
time-consuming?
C.
It's
your
specialized
area
of
study
in
college.
D.
Most
students
find
one
major
is
more
than
enough.
E.
Some
schools
may
give
you
one
year
or
more
to
decide.
F.
But
many
future
doctors
major
in
non-science
related
fields.
G.
The
only
difference
is
that
it
doesn’t
require
as
many
classes.

B
My
motivation
for
starting
our
family
tradition
of
reading
in
the
car
was
purely
selfish:
I
could
not
bear
listening
to
A
Sesame
Street
Christmas
for
another
10
hours.
My
three
children
had
been
addicted
to
this
cassette
on
our
previous
summer’s
road
trip.
As
I
began
to
prepare
for
our
next
500-mile
car
trip,
I
came
across
a
book
Jim
Trelease’s
The
Read
Aloud
Handbook.
This
could
be
the
answer
to
my
problem.
I
thought.
So
I
put
Roald
dahl’s
James
and
the
Giant
Peach
into
my
bag.
When
I
began
to
read
aloud
the
tale
of
the
boy
who
escapes
the
bad
guys
by
hiding
inside
a
giant
peach,
my
three
kids
argued
and
wrestled
in
their
seats.
But
after
several
lines,
they
were
attracted
into
the
rhythm
of
the
words
and
began
to
listen.
We
soon
learned
that
the
simple
pleasure
of
listening
to
a
well-written
book
makes
the
long
miles
pass
more
quickly.
Sometimes
the
books
we
read
became
highlights
of
the
trip.
I
read
Wilson
Rawls’s
Summer
of
the
Monkeys
as
we
spent
two
days
driving
to
the
beach.
We
arrived
just
behind
the
power
crews
restoring
(恢复)
electricity
after
a
tropical
storm.
The
rain
continued
most
of
the
week,
and
the
beach
was
covered
with
oil
washed
up
by
the
storm.
When
we
returned
home,
I
asked
my
son
what
he
liked
about
the
trip.
He
answered
without
hesitation,
“The
book
you
read
in
the
car.”
Road
trips
still
offer
challenges,
even
though
my
children
now
are
teenagers.
But
we
continue
to
read
as
we
roll
across
the
country.
And
I'm
beginning
to
see
that
reading
aloud
has
done
more
than
help
pass
the
time.
For
at
least
a
little
while,
we
are
not
shut
in
our
own
electronic
worlds.
And
maybe
we’ve
started
something
that
will
pass
on
to
the
next
generation.
4.
Why
did
the
author
start
reading
in
the
car?
A.
She
wanted
to
have
a
better
journey.
B.
She
wanted
to
keep
a
family
tradition
C.
Her
children
were
addicted
to
music.
D.
She
wanted
to
kill
the
time.
5.
How
did
the
children
react
after
the
author
read
a
few
lines?
A.
They
kept
quarrelling.
B.
They
hid
themselves.
C.
They
soon
settled
down.
D.
They
continued
to
fight
in
their
seats.
6.
What
can
we
learn
about
the
author
and
her
family’s
trip
to
the
beach?
A.
They
were
caught
in
a
storm.
B.
They
enjoyed
reading
on
the
road.
C.
They
had
a
good
time
on
the
beach.
D.
They
thought
it
had
passed
too
quickly.
7.
Which
can
be
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.
Better
Reading
than
Traveling
B.
Books
that
Changed
My
Children
C.
Road

C
Pinocchio
may
be
just
a
children’s
fairy
tale,
but
Spanish
scientists
at
the
University
of
Granada
recently
investigated
this
so-called
“Pinocchio
effect”
and
found
that
our
noses
don’t
grow
when
we
tell
a
lie,
but
actually
shrink
a
bit.
Dr.
Gómez
Milán
and
his
team
developed
a
lie
detector
test
that
used
thermography
(温度记录法)
to
tell
if
people
were
lying,
and
found
that
whenever
participants
in
their
research
were
being
untruthful,
the
temperature
of
the
tip
of
their
nose
dropped
up
to
1.2℃,
while
the
temperature
of
their
forehead
increased
up
to
1.5℃.
Scientist
also
found
that
drop
in
temperature
at
nose
level
actually
caused
it
to
slightly
shrink,
although
the
difference
is
undetected
by
the
human
eye.
“One
has
to
think
in
order
to
lie,
which
rises
the
temperature
of
the
forehead,”
Dr.
Gómez
Milán
explained
the
findings.
“At
the
same
time
we
feel
anxious,
which
lowers
the
temperature
of
the
nose.”
For
this
study,
researchers
asked
a
number
of
60
students
to
perform
various
tasks
while
their
temperature
is
scanned
by
thermal
imaging
(热成像)
technology.
One
of
these
tasks
required
making
a
3
to
4
minutes
call
to
their
parents
or
a
friend
and
telling
a
significant
lie.
Participants
had
to
make
up
the
lie
themselves
during
the
call.
Interestingly,
this
lie
detector
picked
up
the
“Pinocchio
effect”
temperature
difference
in
80
percent
of
the
test
subjects,
which
is
a
better
rate
of
success
than
that
of
any
modern
lie
detector.
“With
this
method
we
have
achieved
to
increase
accuracy”,
said
Dr.
Gómez
Milán,
who
added
that
law
enforcement
interviewers
could
one
day
combine
other
lie
detection
technology
with
thermal
imaging
to
achieve
better
results.

We
know
that
choosing
a
college
major
can
be
very
hard.
But
have
no
fear!
Your
choice
of
major
will
not
lock
you
into
a
specific
career
for
the
rest
of
your
life.
Here's
what
you
need
to
know
about
college
majors
before
you
commit.
What
is
a
major?
___16___Beyond
general
college
requirements,
you'll
also
take
a
group
of
courses
in
a
subject
of
your
choosing
such
as
Chemistry,
Literature,
or
Political
Science.
How
important
is
my
major?
The
major
you
choose
will
neither
predict
nor
guarantee
your
future.
Many
graduates
find
jobs
that
have
nothing
to
do
with
what
they
studied
in
college.
If
you
intend
to
earn
a
professional
degree
after
college,
you
will
probably
need
certain
courses.
___17___
When
do
I
declare
a
major?
This
varies
widely
across
schools
and
programs.____18____Others
require
that
you
declare
upon
a
major
by
the
time
that
you
set
foot
inside
your
first
class.
___19___
Definitely.
One
of
the
most
exciting
aspects
of
college
life
is
that
it
introduces
you
to
new
subjects
and
arouses
new
passions.
However,
keep
this
in
mind.
Every
major
has
necessary
coursework.
If
you
change
your
major
late
in
the
game,
it
may
take
more
than
the
traditional
four
years
to
earn
a
degree.
What
are
minors
and
double
majors?
If
one
field
of
study
doesn’t
satisfy
your
intellectual
appetite,
consider
a
minor.
A
minor
is
similar
to
a
major
in
that
it’s
an
area
of
academic
concentration.___20___A
double
major
provides
you
with
an
understanding
of
two
academic
fields.
It
allows
you
to
become
familiar
with
two
sets
of
values
and
views
while
it
also
requires
you
to
fulfill
two
sets
of
requirements.
A.
Can
I
change
my
mind?
B.
Is
my
major
time-consuming?
C.
It's
your
specialized
area
of
study
in
college.
D.
Most
students
find
one
major
is
more
than
enough.
E
Some
schools
may
give
you
one
year
or
more
to
decide.
F.
But
many
future
doctors
major
in
non-science
related
fields.
G.
The
only
difference
is
that
it
doesn’t
require
as
many
classes.

【分析】本文是一篇说明文。当人们面对健康或营养的问题时,他们会上网作自我诊断,但这是不科学的。搜索引擎是按受欢迎程度而不是按准确度列出结果,很难找到确凿的事实。因此,遇到问题还是应该去看医生。
【41题详解】
考查固定短语。句意:当人们面对健康或营养的问题时,上网作自我诊断的情况越来越普遍。结合句意表示“面对”可知短语为be
faced
with,本文讲述的是一般性的事实,应用一般现在时,主语是people,be动词用are。故填are
faced。
【42题详解】
考查副词。句意:句意:当人们面对健康或营养的问题时,上网作自我诊断的情况越来越普遍。修饰后文形容词common,应用副词increasingly,作状语,表示“越来越多地,不断增加地”。故填increasingly。
【43题详解】
考查定语从句。但是,互联网上充斥着各种各样的健康警告,却没有任何规则来消除错误的建议,而其中一些建议可能是极其危险的!此处为“介词+关系代词”结构非限制性定语从句修饰先行词advice,作介词of的宾语,指物,在“介词+关系代词”结构非限制性定语从句中只能用关系代词which。故填which。
【44题详解】
考查名词。句意:此外,搜索引擎根据受欢迎程度而不是按准确度列出结果,因此很难找到确凿的事实。空处作宾语,表示“受欢迎程度”应用名词popularity,为不可数名词。故填popularity。
【45题详解】
考查非谓语动词。句意:此外,搜索引擎是按受欢迎程度而不是按准确度列出结果,因此很难找到确凿的事实。结合句意表示“很难做某事”可知,短语为be
difficult
to
do
sth.,后跟动词不定式。故填to
find。
【46题详解】
考查反身代词。句意:任何人都可以称自己为“饮食专家”、“营养学家”甚至“医生”。此处指anyone,动词call的宾语与主语是“同一人”,所以用反身代词himself作宾语。故填himself。
【47题详解】
考查形容词。句意:但请记住,只有官方认可的医生才有资格提供医疗建议。修饰后文名词doctor应用形容词recognized“公认的、认可的”,作定语。故填recognized。
【48题详解】
考查名词的数。句意:但请记住,只有官方认可的医生才有资格提供医疗建议。此处作动词giving的宾语,应用所给词的名词形式suggestion“建议”,suggestion是可数名词,应用复数形式表泛指。故填suggestions。
【49题详解】
考查宾语从句。句意:因此,如果你不确定并且还在想巧克力减肥法是否真的有效,那就和你的医生约个时间吧。此处为宾语从句,根据句意及后面的or
not可知,表示“是否……”应用whether…or
not…。故填whether。
【50题详解】
考查冠词。句意:因此,如果你不确定并且还在想巧克力减肥法是否真的有效,那就和你的医生约个时间吧。appointment为可数名词,此处表泛指,应用不定冠词,且其发音是元音音素开头,应用an。make

【分析】这是一篇记叙文。文章讲述作者了喜欢打排球的原因和故事经过。
【详解】1.
考查副词。before
表示过去某个时间起之前,ago表示从现在起多长时间之前。此处指从现在起三年前,应用ago,故before
改为ago。
2.考查冠词。句中club是可数名词,此处表示一个排球俱乐部,应用不定冠词,且volleyball的发音是辅音音素开头,应用a。故volleyball前加a。
3.考查现在分词。分析可知,此处应用非谓语动词作状语,逻辑主语a
teacher和动词hope是主动关系,应用现在分词。故hope改为hoping。
4.考查固定结构。句意:俱乐部如此受欢迎以至于许多学生报名。根据句意可知,表示“如此……以至于……”用so
…that…句型,副词so修饰形容词popular。故very改为so。
5.考查形容词。此处作动词be的表语,用形容词,to
be
honest
“说实话”,是固定短语,故honestly改为honest。
6.考查介词。表示“每周六上午”应用every
Saturday
morning,every前不加介词。故去掉on。
7.考查形容词。boring
表示“令人厌烦的”,常修饰物;bored“无趣的”,修饰人,表示人的主观感受。此处指学生们感到厌烦,应用bored。故boring改为bored。
8.考查连词。句意:许多同学感到打排球无趣就退出了俱乐部,但我发现我很喜欢打排球。根据句意可知,前后句是转折关系,应用连词but。故So改为But。
9.考查动词时态。分析句子可知,此处与and前的动词found时态一致,表示过去发生的事情,用一般过去时。故carry改为carried。
10.考查感叹句。引导感叹句时What感叹名词,How感叹形容词或副词,此处感叹形容词excited
and
proud,应用how引导感叹句,故What改为How。
