B
A
calorie
deficit
is
a
state
in
which
you
burn
more
calories
than
you
consume.
As
one
of
the
most
popular
approaches
of
losing
weight,
how
does
it
work?
For
example,
if
you
burn
2,500
calories
per
day
but
only
eat
2,000,you
have
created
a
deficit
of
500
calories
per
day.
There
is
mathematical
certainty.
But,
this
by
no
means
tells
the
whole
story
about
how
calories
deficit
affects
our
lives.
Before
wondering
what
a
calorie
deficit
is
it’s
probably
best
to
learn
what
a
calorie
is.
A
calorie
is
a
unit
that
we
use
to
track
our
body’s
energy
expenditure
(消耗)
and
storage.
In
order
to
just
stay
alive,
human
beings
(and
animals)
burn
calories.
This
means,
even
before
we
perform
any
activity,
our
bodies
are
already
using
energy
(measured
in
calories)
to
keep
us
alive.
Around
70%
of
the
calories
we
consume
are
spent
on
just
keeping
our
vital
organs
running.
Thus,
if
a
person
consumes
calories
far
more
less
than
needed
to
look
thin,it
may
have
negative
effects
on
the
body.
When
people
pick
up
a
calorie
deficit,
they
often
merely
note
that
the
calorie
math
is
irrefutable
(无可辩驳的).
The
question
here
is
that
not
all
calories
are
the
same.
If
you
eat
a
few
bags
of
potato
chip
worth
of
calories
to
support
the
calorie
intake
needed
to
maintain
or
cut
down
on
your
weight,
it
will
work.
But,
this
doesn’t
have
the
same
effect
on
your
body
and
overall
health
as
a
balanced
nutritional
meal
containing
the
same
amount
of
calories.
It
seems
like
a
simple
unit
of
energy
has
become
an
object
of
our
society’s
obsession.
It
needn't
be
that
way.
Remember,
calorie
deficits
are
just
a
tool,
which
serves
a
purpose
in
losing
some
weight
and
keeping
track
of
your
calorie
intake
seems
simple
enough.
4.
What
do
we
know
about
the
calorie
deficit?
A.
It
helps
people
lose
weight.
B.
It
is
a
way
of
doing
exercises.
C.
It
affects
people's
lives
positively.
D.
It
means
the
calories
people
consume.
5.
Which
of
the
following
statements
can
be
learned
in
Paragraph
2?
A.
A
calorie
is
a
unit
to
store
daily
energy.
B.
People
need
to
burn
calories
to
be
alive.
C
Calorie
intake
is
to
keep
our
organs
operating.
D.
Living
animals
only
burn
calories
after
activities.
6.
What
is
suggested
for
people
to
lose
weight
healthily?
A.
Focusing
on
the
calorie
math
when
eating.
B.
Focusing
on
different
calories
when
eating.
C.
Having
bags
of
potato
chips
containing
enough
calories.
D.
Having
balanced
nutritional
diets
containing
proper
calories.
7.
What
is
the
text
mainly
about?
A.
Influences
of
calorie
deficits.
B.
Approaches
to
lose
weight.
C.
Distinctions
between
calories.
D.
Ways
to
track
calorie
intake.
【答案】4.
A
5.
B
6.
D
7.
A
【解析】
【分析】本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了卡路里的定义以及告诉我们不能仅仅看卡路里的数值,不能对于这样的能量单位太过痴迷。
【4题详解】
细节理解题。根据第一段“A
calorie
deficit
is
a
state
in
which
you
burn
more
calories
than
you
consume.
As
one
of
the
most
popular
approaches
of
losing
weight”(卡路里不足是指你燃烧的卡路里多于你摄入的卡路里。作为最流行的减肥方法之一)可知,卡路里不足可以减肥。故选A项。
【5题详解】
细节理解题。根据第二段“In
order
to
just
stay
alive,
human
beings
(and
animals)
burn
calories.”(为了生存,人类(和动物)需要燃烧卡路里。)可知,人需要燃烧卡路里才能活着。故选B项。
【6题详解】
细节理解题。根据倒数第二段“If
you
eat
a
few
bags
of
potato
chip
worth
of
calories
to
support
the
calorie
intake
needed
to
maintain
or
cut
down
on
your
weight,
it
will
work.
But,
this
doesn’t
have
the
same
effect
on
your
body
and
overall
health
as
a
balanced
nutritional
meal
containing
the
same
amount
of
calories.”(如果你吃了几袋薯片所含的热量来支持你维持体重或减少体重所需要的热量摄入,它会起作用的。但是,它对你的身体和整体健康的影响并不像含有相同热量的均衡营养餐那样大。)可知,作者建议食用含有适当的热量,营养均衡的饮食来减肥。故选D项。
【7题详解】
主旨大意题。根据第一段“But,
this
by
no
means
tells
the
whole
story
about
how
calories
deficit
affects
our
lives.”(但是,这并不能说明卡路里不足是如何影响我们的生活的。)及全文内容可知,本文主要讲述了卡路里不足带来的影响。故选A项。
C
My
mother
always
told
me,
“You
should
explore
your
own
country
before
stepping
out
into
the
world.
”However,
it
seems
like
a
tough
mission
to
travel
all
across
its
expansive
surfaces.
But
luckily
for
me,
Via
Rail
Canada
offered
youths
between
the
ages
of
18
and
25
the
chance
to
ride
the
train
across
Canada
for
the
month
of
July.
The
ticket
was
a
bargain
$150.
My
best
friends
Trevor,
Joel
and
Jeremy
and
I
immediately
jumped
at
the
opportunity
and
secured
four
tickets
on
the
great
Canadian
railroad.
For
a
group
of
20-year-olds,
this
was
like
the
first
flight
of
young
birds
from
the
nest.
When
we
approached
the
train
station
in
the
morning,
our
22-day
adventure
from
Sudbury
to
Vancouver
was
to
begin.
Eyes
baggy
from
lack
of
sleep,
we
jumped
on
board
as
if
it
was
the
train
to
Hogwarts
in
Harry
Potter.
Although
the
thought
of
three
full
days
on
those
tracks
covering
close
to
3,
000
kilometres
crushed
our
spirits
a
little,
what
happened
next
caught
us
by
surprise.
The
three
days
on
board
turned
into
a
summer
camp
on
rails.
At
night,
we
would
climb
up
the
glass-domed
train
car,
which
gave
us
a
scenic
view
of
the
starry
night
sky,
untouched
by
the
harmful
light
pollution.
Before
we
knew
it,
the
warm
sun
rays
beating
down
on
our
faces
woke
us
up
for
another
day
on
the
rails.
To
my
surprise,
a
sea
of
golden
grain
fields
dominated
the
landscape
we
were
in
the
Canadian
Prairies.
Another
day
slipped
away
and
we
set
up
for
another
night
in
the
dome.
And
this
time
we
were
greeted
by
night
sky
painted
by
a
fantastic
thunderstorm.
Lightning
was
striking
at
an
incredible
rate.
The
spectacular
and
memorable
light
show
left
everyone
in
the
glass
bubble
in
complete
disbelief.
Arriving
in
the
Rocky
Mountains
was
one
of
the
most
surreal
experiences
of
my
life.
Before
the
train
adventure,
if
I
could
have
skipped
the
travel
and
arrived
at
the
destination,
I
would
have.
That
is
no
longer
true.
I’ve
learned
that
the
journey
can
be
more
enjoyable
than
the
destination.

Rail
Canada为18至25岁的年轻人提供了在7月份乘坐火车穿越加拿大的机会。票价便宜到150美元。由此可知,是加拿大Via铁路公司提供的折扣票让作者穿越加拿大的火车冒险变成了现实。故选C。
【9题详解】
推理判断题。根据第二段中For
a
group
of
20-year-olds,
this
was
like
the
first
flight
of
young
birds
from
the
nest.
When
we
approached
the
train
station
in
the
morning,
our
22-day
adventure
from
Sudbury
to
Vancouver
was
to
begin.
Eyes
baggy
from
lack
of
sleep,
we
jumped
on
board
as
if
it
was
the
train
to
Hogwarts
in
Harry
Potter.可知对于一群20多岁的年轻人来说,这就像是雏鸟第一次从巢里飞出来。当我们早上到达火车站时,我们从Sudbury到Vancouver的22天冒险就要开始了。由于睡眠不足,我们的眼睛都肿了起来,我们跳上了火车,就好像是《哈利波特》里开往霍格沃茨的火车。由此可推知,年轻人对即将到来的火车旅行很兴奋。故选A。
【10题详解】
词义猜测题。根据第三段中At
night,
we
would
climb
up
the
glass-domed
train
car,
which
gave
us
a
scenic
view
of
the
starry
night
sky,
untouched
by
the
harmful
light
pollution.可知晚上,我们会爬上玻璃圆顶车厢,在那里我们可以看到满天星斗的夜空,没有受到有害的光污染。以及划线短语上文And
this
time
we
were
greeted
by
night
sky
painted
by
a
fantastic
thunderstorm.
Lightning
was
striking
at
an
incredible
rate.
The
spectacular
and
memorable
light
show
left
everyone可知这次迎接我们的是描绘着梦幻般的雷雨的夜空。闪电以令人难以置信的速度袭来。壮观而难忘的光影秀让“the
glass
bubble”里的每个人都难以置信。由此可知,“the
glass
bubble”指的是玻璃穹顶的火车车厢。故选B。
【11题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段中I’ve
learned
that
the
journey
can
be
more
enjoyable
than
the
destination.可知我明白了旅途比目的地更令人愉快。由此可推知,作者从穿越加拿大的火车冒险中学到了享受一段旅程很重要。故选B。

【解析】
【分析】本文是说明文。
文章介绍了一项研究结果:新的AI技术可以通过跳舞者独特的跳舞“指纹”来识别他们。
【12题详解】
细节理解题。根据文章第二段中“They
recently
made
an
accidental
discovery
while
trying
to
see
if
an
ML
machine,
a
form
of
artificial
intelligence,

based
on
how
the
participants
of
the
study
were
dancing.(最近,他们在尝试看人工智能ML机器是否能够根据研究参与者跳舞的方式来识别出播放的音乐时,有了一个意外发现。)”可知,
研究人员期望用ML机器根据舞蹈者的动作识别音乐。故选C。
【13题详解】
细节理解题。根据文章第三段中“It
was
the
movement
of
participants’
heads,
shoulders
and
knees
that
were
important
markers
in
distinguishing
between
individual.(参与者头部、肩膀和膝盖的运动是区分个体的重要标志。)”可知,
跳舞者的脚部运动不能帮助AI技术确定跳舞者的身份。故选B。
【14题详解】
细节理解题。根据文章第四段中“researchers
say
that
they
are
not
as
interested
in
possible
surveillance
(监视)
uses
of
this
technology,
but
rather
what
the
results
of
this
study
say
about
how
humans
respond
to
music.(研究人员说他们感兴趣的不是这种技术的监视用途,而是这项研究关于人类对音乐是如何反应的结果。)”可知,研究人员想用这个研究的结果来了解人类对音乐的反应。故选C。
【15题详解】
主旨大意题。文章第一段提到“whatever
it
is,
the
way
we
dance
to
a
beat
is
so
noticeable
to
an
individual
that
a
computer
can
now
identify
us
by
our
unique
dancing
“fingerprint”.
(不管是什么舞蹈,我们跟着节拍跳舞的方式对一个人来说是如此明显,以至于电脑现在可以通过我们独特的跳舞“指纹”来识别我们。)”;第三段中提到研究人员Pasi
Saari
所说的话“It
seems
as
though
a
person’s
dance
movements
a
kind
of
fingerprint.
Each
person
has
a
unique
movement
signature
that
stays
the
same
no
matter
what
kind
of
music
is
playing.(
一个人的舞蹈动作就好像是一种指纹。每个人都有自己独特的动作特征,无论演奏什么音乐,这些特征都是不变的。)”由此可知,文章是关于新的AI技术能够通过独特的跳舞“指纹”来识别跳舞者。D项“新的AI技术能够通过你的跳舞“指纹”来识别你”可以作为本文标题。故选D。

根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Financial
Education-Awareness
Dilemma
When
it
comes
to
financial
education,
the
majority
of
today's
youth
will
regard
it
as
a
necessity
for
certain
specific
people
who
want
to
make
their
career
in
the
financial
world.
___16___
Actually,
elementary
financial
education
is
a
must
for
all,
as
money
transaction
is
an
essential
part
of
our
day-to-day
life.
Suppose
you
have
$100
in
a
saving
account
that
pays
simple
interest
at
the
rate
of
2%per
year.
lf
you
leave
the
money
in
the
account,
how
much
will
you
have
accumulated
after
5
years:
more
than
$102,
exactly
$102,
or
less
than
$102?
The
test
might
look
simple,
but
only
half
of
the
people
surveyed
gave
the
correct
answer.
___17___The
explanation
goes
as
follows:
People
with
low
levels
of
financial
literacy
suffer
from
that
lack
of
knowledge
at
every
stage
of
their
lives.
Researchers
on
this
subject
say
people
with
a
high
degree
of
financial
literacy
are
more
likely
to
plan
for
their
retirement.
___18___
On
the
contrary,
people
who
have
a
lower
degree
of
financial
literacy
tend
to
borrow
more,
accumulate
less
wealth,
and
pay
more
in
fees
related
financial
products.
They
are
less
likely
to
invest,
more
likely
to
experience
difficulty
with
debt,
and
less
likely
to
know
the
terms
of
their
mortgages
and
other
loans.
Thus,
the
cost
of
this
financial
ignorance
is
very
high.
___19___
What
is
the
solution?
___20___
Like
reading
and
math,
financial
education
must
become
part
of
the
core
curriculum
in
our
schools.
Likewise,
parents
should
engage
in
regular,
constructive
conversations
about
money
matters.
This
will
give
their
kids
a
solid
foundation
for
financial
well-being,
which
will
keep
on
giving
returns
throughout
the
course
of
their
lives.
A.
Financial
education
must
start
early.
B.
However,
they
miss
an
important
point.
C.
Why
does
each
of
us
have
to
face
a
financial
challenge?
D.
Why
does
financial
literacy
matter
so
much
in
our
society'?
E.
Rich
people
are
generally
better
educated
on
financial
management.
F.
Besides,
these
people
have
more
than
double
the
wealth
of
people
who
don’t.
G.
For
example,
they
frequently
make
late
credit
card
payments,
overspend
their
credit
limit,
etc.

My

He

I

It

Our

I

Apparently,
I

Now
I

Friends

I
blinked.
The

there.
We
locked
eyes.
He
came
across
the
street,
straight
toward
me.
Hesitantly,
I
offered

He

then
he
licked

me.
I
let
out
a
surprised
laugh.
He
pushed

This

was
younger

Bama,

He
was

He
wore

I
knew
he

to
someone
in
the
neighborhood,
but
I'd
never
seen
another
boxer
around.
I
would
have
remembered
if
I
had.
"Where
did
you
come
from?"
I
asked
the
dog,
scratching
him
behind
the
ears.
He
just
sat
there
at
ease.
He
didn't

Just

visit.
"Alan!"
I
called.
"You
have
to

this!"
Alan

【分析】作者的拳师犬去世了,作者非常伤心。一天,作者看到街对面有一条拳师犬。这条拳师犬看到作者后,来到了作者面前。作者和它进行沟通交流,给她带来了慰藉,走出了失去爱狗的伤痛。最后,狗离开了。
【详解】1.段落续写:
①由第一段首句内容“第二天,门上有奇怪的挠门声”可知,挠门声应该是上文最后部分中提到的拳师犬发出来的。拳师犬来到作者家。该段应该写作者和这只拳师犬的互动。
②由第二段首句内容“一周后,一个我从未见过的年轻人前来拜访”可知,第二段应该叙述年轻人来拜访的情景和目的。再结合上文所述,应该可以推知年轻人是拳师犬的主人。
2.续写线索:挠门声——来访——互动——建立感情——寻找——释怀

A
calorie
deficit
is
a
state
in
which
you
burn
more
calories
than
you
consume.
As
one
of
the
most
popular
approaches
of
losing
weight,
how
does
it
work?
For
example,
if
you
burn
2,500
calories
per
day
but
only
eat
2,000,you
have
created
a
deficit
of
500
calories
per
day.
There
is
mathematical
certainty.
But,
this
by
no
means
tells
the
whole
story
about
how
calories
deficit
affects
our
lives.
Before
wondering
what
a
calorie
deficit
is
it’s
probably
best
to
learn
what
a
calorie
is.
A
calorie
is
a
unit
that
we
use
to
track
our
body’s
energy
expenditure
(消耗)
and
storage.
In
order
to
just
stay
alive,
human
beings
(and
animals)
burn
calories.
This
means,
even
before
we
perform
any
activity,
our
bodies
are
already
using
energy
(measured
in
calories)
to
keep
us
alive.
Around
70%
of
the
calories
we
consume
are
spent
on
just
keeping
our
vital
organs
running.
Thus,
if
a
person
consumes
calories
far
more
less
than
needed
to
look
thin,it
may
have
negative
effects
on
the
body.
When
people
pick
up
a
calorie
deficit,
they
often
merely
note
that
the
calorie
math
is
irrefutable
(无可辩驳的).
The
question
here
is
that
not
all
calories
are
the
same.
If
you
eat
a
few
bags
of
potato
chip
worth
of
calories
to
support
the
calorie
intake
needed
to
maintain
or
cut
down
on
your
weight,
it
will
work.
But,
this
doesn’t
have
the
same
effect
on
your
body
and
overall
health
as
a
balanced
nutritional
meal
containing
the
same
amount
of
calories.
It
seems
like
a
simple
unit
of
energy
has
become
an
object
of
our
society’s
obsession.
It
needn't
be
that
way.
Remember,
calorie
deficits
are
just
a
tool,
which
serves
a
purpose
in
losing
some
weight
and
keeping
track
of
your
calorie
intake
seems
simple
enough.
4.
What
do
we
know
about
the
calorie
deficit?
A.
It
helps
people
lose
weight.
B.
It
is
a
way
of
doing
exercises.
C.
It
affects
people's
lives
positively.
D.
It
means
the
calories
people
consume.
5.
Which

following
statements
can
be
learned
in
Paragraph
2?

A
calorie
is
a
unit
to
store
daily
energy.
B.
People
need
to
burn
calories
to
be
alive.
C.
Calorie
intake
is
to
keep
our
organs
operating.
D.
Living
animals
only
burn
calories
after
activities.
6.

My
mother
always
told
me,
“You
should
explore
your
own
country
before
stepping
out
into
the
world.
”However,
it
seems
like
a
tough
mission
to
travel
all
across
its
expansive
surfaces.
But
luckily
for
me,
Via
Rail
Canada
offered
youths
between
the
ages
of
18
and
25
the
chance
to
ride
the
train
across
Canada
for
the
month
of
July.
The
ticket
was
a
bargain
$150.
My
best
friends
Trevor,
Joel
and
Jeremy
and
I
immediately
jumped
at
the
opportunity
and
secured
four
tickets
on
the
great
Canadian
railroad.
For
a
group
of
20-year-olds,
this
was
like
the
first
flight
of
young
birds
from
the
nest.
When
we
approached
the
train
station
in
the
morning,
our
22-day
adventure
from
Sudbury
to
Vancouver
was
to
begin.
Eyes
baggy
from
lack
of
sleep,
we
jumped
on
board
as
if
it
was
the
train
to
Hogwarts
in
Harry
Potter.
Although
the
thought
of
three
full
days
on
those
tracks
covering
close
to
3,
000
kilometres
crushed
our
spirits
a
little,
what
happened
next
caught
us
by
surprise.
The
three
days
on
board
turned
into
a
summer
camp
on
rails.
At
night,
we
would
climb
up
the
glass-domed
train
car,
which
gave
us
a
scenic
view
of
the
starry
night
sky,
untouched
by
the
harmful
light
pollution.
Before
we
knew
it,
the
warm
sun
rays
beating
down
on
our
faces
woke
us
up
for
another
day
on
the
rails.
To
my
surprise,
a
sea
of
golden
grain
fields
dominated
the
landscape
we
were
in
the
Canadian
Prairies.
Another
day
slipped
away
and
we
set
up
for
another
night
in
the
dome.
And
this
time
we
were
greeted
by
night
sky
painted
by
a
fantastic
thunderstorm.
Lightning
was
striking
at
an
incredible
rate.
The
spectacular
and
memorable
light
show
left
everyone
in
the
glass
bubble
in
complete
disbelief.
Arriving
in
the
Rocky
Mountains
was
one
of
the
most
surreal
experiences
of
my
life.
Before
the
train
adventure,
if
I
could
have
skipped
the
travel
and
arrived
at
the
destination,
I
would
have.
That
is
no
longer
true.
I’ve
learned
that
the
journey
can
be
more
enjoyable
than
the
destination.
8.

does“the
glass
bubble”in
the
fourth
paragraph
refer
to?

A
brain
in
lack
of

train
car.
C.
A
summer
camp
on

D.
The
sightseeing

11.
What
did
the
author
learn
from
the
train
adventure
across
Canada?
A.
Opportunities
are
hard
to
get.
B.
Enjoying
a
journey
counts
a
lot.
C.
Splendid
scenery

young
people.
D.
The
traveling
experience
is
not
real
to
him.
D
When
music
comes
on,
some
people
are
toe-lappers
or
head-bobbers,
others
shake
their
hips,and
then
there
are
those
who
let
the
rhythm
move
them
to
a
full-body
boogie
(布吉舞)
.
But,
whatever
it
is,
the
way
we
dance
to
a
beat
is
so
noticeable
to
an
individual
that
a
computer
can
now
identify
us
by
our
unique
dancing
“fingerprint”.
Researchers
at
the
Centre
for
Interdisciplinary
Music
Research
at
Finland's
University
of
Jyv
skyl
have
been
using
motion
capture
(动作捕捉)
technology
to
study
what
a
person's
dance
moves
say
about
his
or
her
mood,
personality,
and
ability
to
sympathize.
They
recently
made
an
accidental
discovery
while
trying
to
see
if
an
ML
machine,
a
form
of
artificial
intelligence,
would
be
able
to
identify
which
kind
of
music
was
playing
based
on
how
the
participants
of
the
study
were
dancing.
In
their
study,
the
researchers
motion
captured
73
participants
with
the
AI
technology
while
they
danced
to
eight
different
music
genres:
electronica,
jazz,
metal,
pop,
rap,
reggae,
country,
and
blues.
The
only
instruction
the
dancers
were
given
was
to
move
in
a
way
that
felt
natural.
But
what
it
could
do
was
more
shocking.
The
computer
was
able
to
correctly
identify
which
music
one
of
the
participants
was
dancing
to
94
percent
of
the
time,
regardless
of
what
kind
of
music
was
playing,
based
on
the
pattern
of
a
person's
dance
style.
It
was
the
movement
of
participants’
heads,
shoulders
and
knees
that
were
important
markers
in
distinguishing
between
individual.
“It
seems
as
though
a
person’s
dance
movements
a
kind
of
fingerprint.
Each
person
has
a
unique
movement
signature
that
stays
the
same
no
matter
what
kind
of
music
is
playing,”
said
Pasi
Saari,
a
co-author
of
the
study,
in
a
class.
It’s
possible
that
dance-recognition
software
could
become
something
similar
to
face-recognition
software
but
it
doesn’t
seem
as
practical.
For
now,
researchers
say
that
they
are
not
as
interested
in
possible
surveillance
(监视)
uses
of
this
technology,
but
rather
what
the
results
of
this
study
say
about
how
humans
respond
to
music.
So
don’t
worry
about
being
identified
at
nightclub
by
an
AI
via
your
signature
dance
moves
yet.
12.
What
did
the
researchers
expect
to
do
with
the
ML
machine?
A.
Test
the
dancers’
flexibility.
B.
Make
dancers
accustomed
to
the
beat.
C.
Identify
the
music
using
dancers'
moves.
D.
Check
the
accuracy
of
motion
capture
technology.
13.
What
might
not
help
the
AI
technology
determine
a
dancer’s
identity?
A.
Head
movement.
B.
Foot
movement.
C.
Knee
movement.
D.
Shoulder
movement.
14.
What
do
researchers
want
to
use
the
results
for?
A.
Putting
it
on
the
application
market.
B.
Programming
it
to
work
at
nightclub.
C.
Learning
about
the
human
response
to
music.
D.
Developing
a
software
like
face-recognition.
15.
What
can
be
the
best
title
of
the
text?
A.
A
music
style
matters
less
than
its
beat.
B.
New
AI
can
generate
your
next
dance
move.
C.
A
dance-recognition
software
will
become
more
popular.
D.
New
AI
can
identify
you
by

Financial
Education-Awareness
Dilemma
When
it
comes
to
financial
education
the
majority
of
today's
youth
will
regard
it
as
a
necessity
for
certain
specific
people
who
want
to
make
their
career
in
the
financial
world.
___16___
Actually,
elementary
financial
education
is
a
must
for
all,
as
money
transaction
is
an
essential
part
of
our
day-to-day
life.
Suppose
you
have
$100
in
a
saving
account
that
pays
simple
interest
at
the
rate
of
2%per
year.
lf
you
leave
the
money
in
the
account,
how
much
will
you
have
accumulated
after
5
years:
more
than
$102,
exactly
$102,
or
less
than
$102?
The
test
might
look
simple,
but
only
half
of
the
people
surveyed
gave
the
correct
answer.
___17___The
explanation
goes
as
follows:
People
with
low
levels
of
financial
literacy
suffer
from
that
lack
of
knowledge
at
every
stage
of
their
lives.
Researchers
on
this
subject
say
people
with
a
high
degree
of
financial
literacy
are
more
likely
to
plan
for
their
retirement.
___18___
On
the
contrary,
people
who
have
a
lower
degree
of
financial
literacy
tend
to
borrow
more,
accumulate
less
wealth,
and
pay
more
in
fees
related
financial
products.
They
are
less
likely
to
invest,
more
likely
to
experience
difficulty
with
debt,
and
less
likely
to
know
the
terms
of
their
mortgages
and
other
loans.
Thus,
the
cost
of
this
financial
ignorance
is
very
high.
___19___
What
is
the
solution?
___20___
Like
reading
and
math
financial
education
must
become
part
of
the
core
curriculum
in
our
schools.
Likewise,
parents
should
engage
in
regular,
constructive
conversations
about
money
matters.
This
will
give
their
kids
a
solid
foundation
for
financial
well-being,
which
will
keep
on
giving
returns
throughout
the
course
of
their
lives.
A.
Financial
education
must
start
early.
B.
However,
they
miss
an
important
point.
C.
Why
does
each
of
us
have
to
face
a
financial
challenge?
D.
Why
does
financial
literacy
matter
so
much
in
our
society'?
E.
Rich
people
are
generally
better
educated
on
financial
management.
F.
Besides,
these
people
have
more
than
double
the
wealth
of
people
who
don’t.
G.
For
example,
they
frequently
make
late
credit
card
payments,
overspend
their
credit
limit,
etc.

52.
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I
couldn't
even
sort
through
the
first
box
of
our
dog
Bama's
toys
without
bursting
into
tears.
My
husband,
Alan,
found
me
sitting
on
the
floor,
holding
our
dog's
favorite
toy.
He
gently
pulled
me
to
my
feet.
"It's
okay,
Lisa,"
he
said.
"I'll
put
these
away.
Why
don't
you
go
outside
and
get
some
air?"
I
nodded.
It
had
been
a
few
months
since
our
beloved
Bama
had
passed
away.
Alan
and
I
didn't
have
children.
Our
boxer
(拳师犬)
was
our
baby.
After
Bama's
death,
we
couldn't
bring
ourselves
to
go
through
his
toys
to
decide
what
to
keep.
I
told
myself
I'd
do
it
when
I
was
ready.
Apparently,
I
still
wasn't.
Now
I
sat
on
my
front
porch
(门廊)
and
sobbed.
Friends
and
family
had
suggested
we
get
another
dog,
but
Alan
and
I
dismissed
the
idea.
We
couldn't
go
through
that
kind
of
heartbreak
again.
I
gazed
out
over
the
yard.
Across
the
street
was
a
dog.
A
boxer.
Was
he
real
or
just
my
wishful
imagination?
I
blinked.
The
boxer
was
still
there.
We
locked
eyes.
He
came
across
the
street,
straight
toward
me.
Hesitantly,
I
offered
my
hand.
He
sniffed
it
eagerly
then
he
licked
(舔)
me.
I
let
out
a
surprised
laugh.
He
pushed
his
head
into
my
lap
to
be
petted.
This
dog
was
younger
than
Bama,
smaller.
He
was
well-fed
and
well-dressed.
He
wore
a
collar
but
had
no
ID.
I
knew
he
must
belong
to
someone
in
the
neighborhood,
but
I'd
never
seen
another
boxer
around.
I
would
have
remembered
if
I
had.
"Where
did
you
come
from?"
I
asked
the
dog,
scratching
him
behind
the
ears.
He
just
sat
there
at
ease.
He
didn't
seem
lost.
Just
as
if
he
were
dropping
by
for
a
visit.
"Alan!"
I
called.
"You
have
to
come
to
see
this!"
Alan
joined
me,
and
we
sat
together
in
surprise
for
a
moment.
Then
the
boxer
got
up
and
slowly
ran
off.
