数词是表示数量多少或先后顺序的词。
表示数量多少的数词被称为基数词；表示先后顺序的数词被称为序数词。
数词的用法相当于形容词或名词。
表达日期的时候使用序数词。
序数词在表示顺序时，要放在所修饰的名词之前，并加定冠词the。
序数词的规律：
序数词1~
19除first,
second,
third有特殊形式外,其余大部分都是由基数词后面加-th构成，
其中有几个加-th时写法不规则，它们是fifth，eighth，ninth和twlefth。
整十数的序数词的构成方法是:先将整十数基数词词尾的y变为ie再加-th。如thiry-thirtieth，sixty-
sixtieth。

序数词的规律：
基数词中20以上的“几十几”变成序数词时，只要把个位数变成序数词，十位数不变。如
twenty-third，ninety-first，forty-ninth。
序数词也有相应的缩写形式，由阿拉伯数字加上序数词的最后两个字母构成。如1st，2nd，3rd，4th，88th。
