Step I Lead in
T: Hello, everyone. Let’s enjoy a video.
Play the song of "I love my family" on the screen. Let the students watch it. After enjoying the video, ask them to answer some questions.
T: What is the song about?
S1: About family.
T: What can you remember about the song?
S2: mother, father, brother...
T: Do you enjoy it?
Ss: Yes, I do.
T: Do you love your family? Yes or No?
Ss: Yes.
Then let the Ss look at some pictures about families.
T: Do you have a happy family? Please show us your photo of your family?
Show students a photo of Xiaohong’s family. Make them know the words:
grandmother, grandfather, father, mother, sister, daughter.
Step II Look, listen and say
T: Now look at the photo of Tony's family. Let's know his family members, OK?
1. Lead the students to say the members of family like this:
This is a photo of Tony’s family. This is Tony’s …
Then let the students remember the words, and ask and answer in pairs.
2. Play the recorder of activity 2 and ask the students to check (√) in Activity 1 the people Tony mentions.
Step III Listen, read and answer
Play the tape and have them read and follow
Ask the students to read through the conversation individually. Then choose the correct answer of activity 3.

指示代词的用法:
This,these,that,those成为指示代词,用来指示或标示人或事物,其中,this和that为单数,these和those为复数。另外,this和these用来指离自己较近的人或物,that和those 用来指离自己较远的人或物。例如:
This is my bike, and that is her bike.
These are my books, and those are his books.
当指示代词所指的事物已确定时,后面的指示代词指人时用he , she ,they来代替,指物时用it和they 来代替,如:
Is this your book? Yes, it is.
Are these your uncles? No, they aren’t

1. What a big family! 真是一个大家庭啊!
这是一个省略了的感叹句,完整的形式是 What a big family it is!
基本句型结构:What + a(an) + (形容词) +单数可数名词+主语+谓语
e.g. What a fine day it is!今天天气真好!
2. My mum’s parents are on the left, and my dad’s parents are on the right.
on the left 在左边 on the right 在右边
都是表示方位的介词短语,不仅可以用来描述人物之间的位置关系,还可用来描述事物之间的位置关系。
e.g. My bed is on the right, and his is on the left.
3. The woman next to her is my dad’s sister, my aunt Liz.
next to是个介词短语,意思是“紧挨着,紧靠着”,这里的next to her用来修饰the man。
e.g. The old man on the left is my grandfather. 左边的那位老人是我的祖父。
4. Who are the boy and the girl in front of Paul?
in front of 在……(范围之外的)前面
in the front of 在……(范围之内的)前
e.g. My teacher is in front of the classroom.
(说明老师在教室的外面)
