Lesson 29 A Birthday Card
一 教学目标
1. 知识目标
能够掌握课标要求的“四会”词汇:
paper, inside, poem, rose, present, soft ,riddle,soft
掌握以下短语、句型:
have a birthday party, make a birth day card, on the front of
make sth for sb. eg. Jenny is making a birthday card for her.
use sth to do sth eg. She is using paper and crayons to make the card.
2. 能力目标
(1)让学生了解如何用英语制作生日贺卡。
(2)让学生学会用现在进行时谈论动作。
3. 情感目标
(1)鼓励学生积极主动参与课堂活动,并将自己课堂所学运用到生活当中来。
(2)学会关爱他人,感恩他人。

三.教学实例
1. 导入示例
(1)Greetings.
Greet the class as usual by asking:
Hello,everyone. How are you today? How is your father today? How about youe mother? What’s the weather like today? Do you thik it is good for a picnic? What do you have foe a picnic?
Help the students to answer the questions in English.
(2) Present :
Yesterday Jenny was happy because she had a picnic with her family near the lake. Today she feels happy, too. Why? Because her grandma is having a birthday party. Do you know a birthday? Can you say something about a birthday?
Help them to say :bitrhday, bitrhday card, bitrhday presents, bitrhday candles, bitrhday gifts, bitrhday party, bitrhday song, Happy birthday to you.
2. 重点突破示例
(1) Look at the pictures on page74. Who is the young man? What is he doing? Can you read the poem? Help the students to read the poem together. Ask them to find out the new words in the poem.
(2) Repeat the same step with the next person—Marry Smith.
(3)Listening.
Ask the students to go through the questions on page 76 Let抯 Do It Number 1. Play the audio tape for the students. They should put up thei hands when they hear the answers while listening. Check the answers with whole class.
Play the tape one more time. This time , ask the students to repeat the sentences they hear. Encourage the students to take part in the activity.
Ask the students to read aloud the text by themselves
(4)Key language points.
on the front of : 在...的正面 She is putting a picture of her family on the front.
in front of : 在...(外部)的前面 There is a tree in front of our classroom.
in the front of: 在...(内部)的前面 The bus driver is sitting in the front of the bus.
make sth for sb. 给...做... Jenny is making a birthday card for her.
use sth to do sth 使用...做... She is using paper and crayons to make the card.
(5)Exercises.
Ask the students to the exercises on student book page 75. Remind them that when they are trying to use the Present Continuous Tense they should avoid the following mistakes:
Tom watching TV now. ( Forget to use the verb BE.)
Tom is sleep in his bedroom. ( Forget to change Present Participle)
Tom is siting in the arm chair. ( The wrong Present Participle)
Check the answers with the whole class.
(6) Pair work.
Get the students to work in pairs, preparing a birthday card. They should think about what will be drawn, and what they will say on the card. Get some pairs to show their works in front of the class.
