Part A Let’s Learn 说课稿
I. Analysis of the teaching contents:
Today I’m going to talk about Part A Let’s Learn of Unit 4, PEP Primary English, Book 7. This unit is about the topic of hobbies and daily routine. By studying of this unit, It mainly deals with the dialogue about “What’s your hobby ” and the answers: “I like …...” Make the students know how to ask their hobbies and describe their hobbies. Grasping the phrases is the key point of the lesson. So this unit plays an important role in this book.
ⅡAnalysis of the learners:
The students of Grade 6 are lively. They also have a certain amount of speaking and writing. Therefore, on the design of classroom activities, the students’ classroom activities should be the main line. and the main instructional aims of teaching English in primary school is to cultivate pupils’ basic abilities of their listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. Our boys and girls are exposed to English for the first time, so it is very important to develop their keen interest in English.
III. Teaching aims
Aims on the knowledge and abilities
To enable the Ss to understand and speak: “What’s your hobby ” “I like collecting stamps.” in language situations. Make sure that Ss like to try to use these sentences in real situations.
To grasp and use the phrases: riding a bike, diving, playing the violin, collecting stamps and making kites in some situations.
Aims on the emotion
To foster Ss’ consciousness of good co-operation and proper competition.
To encourage Ss to develop their abundant hobbies.
IV. Key-points of this lesson
To grasp and use the four skills phrases: riding a bike, diving, playing the violin, collecting stamps and making kites.
V. Difficult points
The spelling of the words: riding, diving, making.
VI. Teaching methods
In my class, the TPR, creating situation method,task-based method, communicated method, group cooperate method will be used. I’ll mainly use “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I will let the Ss learn in real situations.
VII. Teaching procedures and purposes of my designing.
I’ll finish this lesson in five steps.
Step1. Warm-up and preview
(1).Sing the song together: I love going hiking.
(2). Free talk between T and Ss.
(3). TPR
For example: what am I doing. I’m cleaning my bedroom……
(4). Play a memory game
Example: listening to music, drawing pictures, swimming……
Purpose: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss by singing and doing some total physical response and at the same time it provides situations to review learned knowledge for the next step.
Step2. Presentation
(1).watch a video about one of student’s interview. Present the pattern: “what is your hobby ” “I like…….”
(2).Let’s watch again and choose the right pictures
Purpose: Feel the phrases through the context, and let them know the phrases for the first time.
(3).Lily has a new bike, show a picture bike, and do the action “Look! I am riding a bike. I like riding a bike.” Then lead the Ss to read the sentence. Make sure they can say it correctly. Use CAI to show how to change ride to riding. At the same time, pay more attention to the sound, the meaning, and the spelling. Then write it on the blackboard. Practice the phrases in the sentences.
(4). Listen to the sounds of violin to learn “playing the violin”. Pay attention to the sound of the word “violin”.
(5).Show some stamps and a kite to learn “collecting stamps” “making kites”. Pay attention to the spelling of the collecting”, and know how to change “make” to “making”.
(6).Make students learn the word “dive” from “drive” and diving.
Purpose: Here I use different methods to show the new phrases, I think it can keep students interest in the class, and get the students to join in the class activities easily.
Step3. Practice
Games are considered one of the most effective ways to improve efficiency in language learning. So in this part, I will use a power point I prepared to play some games with the students:
(1).After the presentation of the new phrases, we play a game: “Solitaire game”
Example: Hobby, hobby, what’s your hobby Riding, riding, I like riding a bike. Playing, playing, I like playing the violin……
Purpose: This game could mobilize the students’ varieties of sensory and practice the words effectively.
(2). Play a guessing game:according to the things of pretty sheep’s room to have a guess her hobbies. For example: according the kites in the room can guess I like“ making kites” or “ flying kites” and so on.
Purpose: Here I use guessing game to review the new phrases, I think it can keep students interest in the class, and cultivate their abilities of observation and thinking.
(3).Group work: let every group choose one of them to act as their favourite super star, and have a press conference, let other to interview this super star, can collect the information before the class. Then every group can make a calling card for the super star .and some groups have a show.
Purpose: This part in order to make students use the knowledge they have learnt before to communicate. let them know how to use the language to solve problems in our daily life. Proper competition can arouse the Ss’ interest in English learning. And develop Ss’ ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation.
(4).Watch a video about animals’ hobby, and fill in the blanks:
Example: Cat likes--------
Rabbit has a------, it likes------.
……
Purpose: CAI can provide a real situation for the Ss to understand the dialogue And do this practice is to get a preparation for the sentences pattern: He/She likes……In next class. And to practice writing.
Step4. Home work
Choose one of them:
1. Make a survey in your class, to interview their hobbies, and complete the chart.
2. Copy the phrases.
Purpose: Revision is so important that Ss should speak English as much as they can after class. The students can choose different home work to satisfy the different levels in our class.
Step5. Blackboard design
Unit4 I have a pen pal

Purpose: I think design like this can shoe the key point of the lesson easily and clearly.
