Inventors and Inventions
A teaching plan for the third period — study of the target language points
设计理念：
《普通高中英语课程标准》中提出，高中英语教学要鼓励学生通过积极尝试，自我探究，自我发现和主动实践等方式，形成具有高中生特点的英语学习的过程与方法。所以本课的设计通过多种不同形式的练习，由词到句到篇，尝试把高考新题型的操练融入到课堂教学中，充分利用课本资源，进行适当的整合，引导学生积极主动地参与有层次、有梯度的学习活动，使学生在逐步掌握、巩固本课的语言知识点，从而发展探究知识与获取信息的能力。
学生分析：
高二学生具有一定的分析和解决问题的能力，已掌握相关的认知策略，如分析、推理、分类、归纳、总结、记忆等。
学生在学习本课之前已完成了对本单元重点词汇、短语的认读，但尚未掌握其具体用法、搭配习惯与语境中的运用。
教材分析：
本节课是本单元教学的第三课时，是一节语言知识点的讲练课。前面一节课已对课文内容进行了整体理解与篇章结构的分析，这为本节课的学习做了一些铺垫。
语言知识重点：
monitor, abrupt, passive, call up, now and then, distinguish sb. as …, set about doing, in the expectation that + 从句,
语言知识难点：
distinguish 的两种不同含义的区分、介词搭配及其派生的形容词；
区分“in the expectation that + 从句”与“in expectation of +名词”
教学策略；
贯彻任务型教学法，通过完成不同形式的练习，教师进行适时的点拨，归纳总结语言知识点；
以小组竞赛的形式进行合作型学习与探讨，在激发兴趣的同时增强合作意识；
教学辅助手段：电脑课件。
