Good

Can
I

M:
I’m
going
to
rent
a
one-bedroom
apartment
near
the
bus
station.
W:
I’m
afraid
there
are
only
two
available
for
you.
The
first
apartment
is
well-furnished
and
modern.
It’s
very
neat
and
clean.
It
has
a
bedroom,
a
kitchen,
a
bathroom
and
a
large
living
room.
It’s
in
the
Bridge
Street
and
it
is
very
quiet
there.
M:
So
what
about
the
rent?
W:
The
owner
is
asking
$700
a
month
for
it.
M:
That’s
a
little
expensive.
So
what
about
the
other
one?
W:
Well,
compared
to
the
first
one,
the
second
one
has
less
furniture.
It’s
near
a
school,
so
it’s
likely
to
be
a
little
bit
noisy.
But
the
good
news
is
that
it’s
in
the
Baker
Street
and
just
a
short
walk
from
the
Green
Park.
M:
What’s
the
rent?
W:
It’s
only
$500
a
month.
The
point
is
that
rents
in
that
area
are
usually
up
to
$600
a
month.
M:
It’s
really
a
bargain.
But
I
think
I’ll
look
at
the
first
one.

To

most
of
the
forests
in
the
world.
B.
To

To
replace
glass
and
plastic
bottles
with
paper
ones.
【答案】17.
B
18.
B
19.
A
20.
C
【解析】
【原文】Several
large
companies
have
begun
creating
paper
bottles
to
replace
glass
and
plastic
ones.
Paper
bottles
have
many
advantages.
Perhaps
the
most
important
is
that
they
are
easy
to
recycle.
Paper
bottles
also
weigh
less
than
glass
and
plastic,
meaning
they’ll
require
less
energy
to
produce
and
to
move
around.
Since
paper
is
soft
and
easy
to
shape,
companies
can
design
their
bottles
to
take
almost
any
shape
they
choose.
Clearly,
one
of
the
biggest
challenges
is
keeping
a
paper
bottle
from
leaking.
The
inside
of
the
bottle
needs
a
special
coating
to
make
sure
the
liquid
doesn’t
leak
through.
Many
companies
are
lining
their
bottles
with
a
thin
sheet
of
plastic.
Though
bottle
makers
may
say
this
liner
can
be
removed
and
recycled,
many
recycling
programs
don’t
have
the
right
machines
to
handle
these
liners.
But
even
without
the
plastic,
paper
bottles
aren’t
perfect.
Most
paper
bottles
use
wood,
meaning
trees
need
to
be
cut
down
to
make
the
bottles.
There’s
still
a
lot
of
testing
to
be
done
before
paper
bottles
can
replace
glass
and
plastic.
But
with
so
many
companies
working
toward
the
same
goal,
it’s
likely
that
we
can
expect
to
see
paper
bottles
on
store
shelves
in
the
near
future,
for
they
are
more
environmentally
friendly.

this
time

deliver
an
envelope
with
a
thank-you
card
for
his
favorite
mail

Since
that
day,
the

Is
renting
clothes
greener
than
buying
them?
Sustainable
(可持续的)
fashion
expert
Elizabeth
Cline
isn’t
sure.
Clothing
renting
is
a
hot
new
industry
and
businessmen
are
trying
to
attract
shoppers
who
care
about
the
environment.
Last
summer
alone,
Urban
Outfitters,
Macy’s,
Bloomingdale’s
American
Eagle
and
Banana
Republic
all
announced
renting
services
–
a
sure
sign
of
changing
times.
But
is
renting
fashion
actually
more
environmentally-friendly
than
buying
it?
And
if
so,
how
much
more?
Journalist
and
author
Elizabeth
Cline
researched
this
question
in
a
feature
article
for
Elle,
and
she
concluded
that
it’s
not
as
sustainable
as
it
seems.
Take
shipping
for
example,
which
has
to
go
two
ways
if
an
item
is
rented
–
receiving
and
returning.
Cline
writes
that
consumer
transportation
has
the
second
largest
carbon
footprint
of
our
collective
fashion
habit
after
manufacturing.
Then
there’s
the
burden
of
washing,
which
has
to
happen
for
every
item
when
it’s
returned,
regardless
of
whether
or
not
it
was
worn.
For
most
renting
services,
this
usually
means
dry-cleaning,
which
is
a
polluting
process.
All
the
renting
services
that
Cline
looked
into
have
replaced
perchloroethylene,
a
carcinogenic
(致癌的)
air
pollutants
that’s
still
used
by
70
percent
of
US
dry
cleaners,
with
hydrocarbon
(碳氢化合物)
alternatives,
although
these
aren’t
great
either.
They
can
produce
harmful
waste
and
air
pollution
if
not
handled
correctly.
Lastly,
Cline
fears
that
renting
services
will
increase
our
appetite
for
fast
fashion,
simply
because
it’s
so
easily
accessible.
There’s
something
called
“share-washing”
that
makes
people
have
more
wasteful
behaviors
because
a
product
or
service
is
shared
and
thus
is
considered
more
eco-friendly.
Uber
is
one
example
of
this:
advertised
as
a
way
to
share
rides
and
reduce
car
ownership,
and
yet
it
has
been
proven
to
discourage
walking,
bicycling
and
public
transportation
use.
Renting
clothes
is
still
preferable
to
buying
them
cheap
and
throwing
them
into
the
bin
after
wearing
them
a
few
times,
but
we
shouldn’t
let
the
availability
of
these
services
make
us
self-satisfied.
There’s
an
even
better
step
–
and
that’s
wearing
what
we
already
have.

Music
is
said
to
be
a
universal
language.
But
for
Chase
Burton,
a
deaf
filmmaker
from
Texas,
music
has
always
been
a
totally
different
experience.
“When
I
was
a
kid,
I’d
lie
on
the
floor
so
I
could
feel
the
vibrations
(震动,颤动)
from
my
brother’s
band
rocking
out
below
my
body,
”
the
33-year-old
man
said.
“That
was
one
of
the
first
times
I
began
building
a
relationship
with
music.”
In
2016,
his
ability
to
experience
music
changed
dramatically,
thanks
to
California-based
technology
company
Not
Impossible
Labs.
It
designed
a
vibrating
suit
that
enables
deaf
people
to
“feel”
music
through
their
skin.
Consisting
of
a
body
harness
(背带),
ankle
and
wrist
belts,
the
suit
translates
audio
into
a
range
of
vibrating
pulses
that
are
felt
at
24
contact
points.
Burton
has
been
trialing
the
suit
for
four
years.
“The
sound
hits
different
parts
of
your
body,
”
said
Burton.
“Maybe
it
will
strike
me
down
in
my
ankles
first.
And
then
I’ll
start
to
feel
the
vibrations
in
my
back.
And
then
I’ll
feel
some
pulsations
in
my
wrist.”
The
creators
want
to
extends
the
tactile
(触觉)
musical
experience
beyond
the
deaf
community.
In
2018,
they
gave
out
150
of
the
suits
at
a
rock
concert
in
Las
Vegas
where
half
the
audience
members
were
deaf
and
half
were
able
to
hear.
Since
then,
Not
Impossible
Labs
has
been
working
to
improve
the
technology
and
says
it’s
ready
to
go
to
market
soon.
Eventually,
the
creators
want
the
suit
to
become
a
consumer
product,
accessible
to
all.
The
company’s
talent
and
business
development
director,
Jordan
Richardson,
said
that
the
technology
could
be
used
in
live
sports
broadcasts,
video
games
and
theme
parks.
As
a
writer
and
director
who’s
been
working
to
make
the
movie
world
more
accessible,
Burton
hopes
that
the
vibrating
suit
will
be
available
to
his
film
audiences
in
the
future.
He
believes
the
suit
can
enhance
emotions
while
watching
a
movie
–
for
hearing
as
well
as
deaf
people.
“I
see
the

as
a

opportunity
to
help
people
understand
that
music
for
movies
doesn’t
always
need
to
be
enjoyed
through
the

Sand
art
is
considered
as
one
of
the
greatest
forms
of
creative
expression
today.
It
is
an
activity
that
has
caught
the
imagination
of
children
and
adults
alike.
____36____
From
cars
to
castles
with
fantasy
lands,
the
themes
are
endless.
Here
are
some
tips
on
how
to
build
the
perfect
sand
sculpture
or
castle.
Before
you
begin
the
sculpture
(雕刻),
you
must
first
ensure
you
have
the
right
tools.____37____
Remember
you
will
need
to
include
a
spray
bottle,
as
the
sculpture
needs
to
be
kept
a
little
wet
to
keep
the
surface
firm
while
you
construct
it.
Once
you
have
gathered
all
the
tools,
it’s
time
to
hunt
for
the
right
location
on
the
beach.
You
need
to
look
for
a
place
that
is
moderately
away
from
the
sea.
After
you
have
found
the
ideal
location,
start
digging.
You
need
to
keep
digging
till
you
reach
wet
sand.
This
will
be
your
first
tough
task.
____38____.
Now
you
need
to
prepare
enough
wet
sand
to
start
with
the
building
and
carving.
This
is
known
as
the
process
of
tamping
(夯实).
A
frame
is
basically
used
for
tamping.
This
is
what
you
need
to
build
tall
structures.
____39____
Place
the
frame
on
the
ground.
Once
the
frame
is
filled,
try
to
lift
it
slowly.
When
you
have
finished
the
base
form,
you
can
create
other
forms
on
top
of
that
base.
Once
you
have
finished
the
basic
structure,
it
is
time
to
release
your
creativity.
Always
start
carving
from
the
top.
Carving
must
always
be
done
in
the
outward
direction.
Do
remember
to
concentrate
on
the
entire
structure
rather

Is
renting
clothes
greener
than
buying
them?
Sustainable
(可持续的)
fashion
expert
Elizabeth
Cline
isn’t
sure.
Clothing
renting
is
a
hot
new
industry
and
businessmen
are
trying
to
attract
shoppers
who
care
about
the
environment.
Last
summer
alone,
Urban
Outfitters,
Macy’s,
Bloomingdale’s
American
Eagle
and
Banana
Republic
all
announced
renting
services
–
a
sure
sign
of
changing
times.
But
is
renting
fashion
actually
more
environmentally-friendly
than
buying
it?
And
if
so,
how
much
more?
Journalist
and
author
Elizabeth
Cline
researched
this
question
in
a
feature
article
for
Elle,
and
she
concluded
that
it’s
not
as
sustainable
as
it
seems.
Take
shipping
for
example,
which
has
to
go
two
ways
if
an
item
is
rented
–
receiving
and
returning.
Cline
writes
that
consumer
transportation
has
the
second
largest
carbon
footprint
of
our
collective
fashion
habit
after
manufacturing.
Then
there’s
the
burden
of
washing,
which
has
to
happen
for
every
item
when
it’s
returned,
regardless
of
whether
or
not
it
was
worn.
For
most
renting
services,
this
usually
means
dry-cleaning,
which
is
a
polluting
process.
All
the
renting
services
that
Cline
looked
into
have
replaced
perchloroethylene,
a
carcinogenic
(致癌的)
air
pollutants
that’s
still
used
by
70
percent
of
US
dry
cleaners,
with
hydrocarbon
(碳氢化合物)
alternatives,
although
these
aren’t
great
either.
They
can
produce
harmful
waste
and
air
pollution
if
not
handled
correctly.
Lastly,
Cline
fears
that
renting
services
will
increase
our
appetite
for
fast
fashion,
simply
because
it’s
so
easily
accessible.
There’s
something
called
“share-washing”
that
makes
people
have
more
wasteful
behaviors
because
a
product
or
service
is
shared
and
thus
is
considered
more
eco-friendly.
Uber
is
one
example
of
this:
advertised
as
a
way
to
share
rides
and
reduce
car
ownership,
and
yet
it
has
been
proven
to
discourage
walking,
bicycling
and
public
transportation
use.
Renting
clothes
is
still
preferable
to
buying
them
cheap
and
throwing
them
into
the
bin
after
wearing
them
a
few
times,
but
we
shouldn’t
let
the
availability
of
these
services
make
us
self-satisfied.
There’s
an
even
better
step
–
and
that’s
wearing
what
we
already
have.

said
to
be
a
universal
language.
But
for
Chase
Burton,
a
deaf
filmmaker
from
Texas,
music
has
always
been
a
totally
different
experience.
“When
I
was
a
kid,
I’d
lie
on
the
floor
so
I
could
feel
the
vibrations
(震动,颤动)
from
my
brother’s
band
rocking
out
below
my
body,
”
the
33-year-old
man
said.
“That
was
one
of
the
first
times
I
began
building
a
relationship
with
music.”
In
2016,
his
ability
to
experience
music
changed
dramatically,
thanks
to
California-based
technology
company
Not
Impossible
Labs.
It
designed
a
vibrating
suit
that
enables
deaf
people
to
“feel”
music
through
their
skin.
Consisting
of
a
body
harness
(背带),
ankle
and
wrist
belts,
the
suit
translates
audio
into
a
range
of
vibrating
pulses
that
are
felt
at
24
contact
points.
Burton
has
been
trialing
the
suit
for
four
years.
“The
sound
hits
different
parts
of
your
body,
”
said
Burton.
“Maybe
it
will
strike
me
down
in
my
ankles
first.
And
then
I’ll
start
to
feel
the
vibrations
in
my
back.
And
then
I’ll
feel
some
pulsations
in
my
wrist.”
The
creators
want
to
extends
the
tactile
(触觉)
musical
experience
beyond
the
deaf
community.
In
2018,
they
gave
out
150
of
the
suits
at
a
rock
concert
in
Las
Vegas
where
half
the
audience
members
were
deaf
and
half
were
able
to
hear.
Since
then,
Not
Impossible
Labs
has
been
working
to
improve
the
technology
and
says
it’s
ready
to
go
to
market
soon.
Eventually,
the
creators
want
the
suit
to
become
a
consumer
product,
accessible
to
all.
The
company’s
talent
and
business
development
director,
Jordan
Richardson,
said
that
the
technology
could
be
used
in
live
sports
broadcasts,
video
games
and
theme
parks.
As
a
writer
and
director
who’s
been
working
to
make
the
movie
world
more
accessible,
Burton
hopes
that
the
vibrating
suit
will
be
available
to
his
film
audiences
in
the
future.
He
believes
the
suit
can
enhance
emotions
while
watching
a
movie
–
for
hearing
as
well
as
deaf
people.
“I
see
the
tech
as
a
real
opportunity
to
help
people
understand
that
music
for
movies
doesn’t
always
need
to
be
enjoyed
through
the
ears”.

Sand
art
is
considered
as
one
of
the
greatest
forms
of
creative
expression
today.
It
is
an
activity
that
has
caught
the
imagination
of
children
and
adults
alike.
____36____
From
cars
to
castles
with
fantasy
lands,
the
themes
are
endless.
Here
are
some
tips
on
how
to
build
the
perfect
sand
sculpture
or
castle.
Before
you
begin
the
sculpture
(雕刻),
you
must
first
ensure
you
have
the
right
tools.____37____
Remember
you
will
need
to
include
a
spray
bottle,
as
the
sculpture
needs
to
be
kept
a
little
wet
to
keep
the
surface
firm
while
you
construct
it.
Once
you
have
gathered
all
the
tools,
it’s
time
to
hunt
for
the
right
location
on
the
beach.
You
need
to
look
for
a
place
that
is
moderately
away
from
the
sea.
After
you
have
found
the
ideal
location,
start
digging.
You
need
to
keep
digging
till
you
reach
wet
sand.
This
will
be
your
first
tough
task.
____38____.
Now
you
need
to
prepare
enough
wet
sand
to
start
with
the
building
and
carving.
This
is
known
as
the
process
of
tamping
(夯实).
A
frame
is
basically
used
for
tamping.
This
is
what
you
need
to
build
tall
structures.
____39____
Place
the
frame
on
the
ground.
Once
the
frame
is
filled,
try
to
lift
it
slowly.
When
you
have
finished
the
base
form,
you
can
create
other
forms
on
top
of
that
base.
Once
you
have
finished
the
basic
structure,
it
is
time
to
release
your
creativity.
Always
start
carving
from
the
top.
Carving
must
always
be
done
in
the
outward
direction.
Do
remember
to
concentrate
on
the
entire
structure
rather
than
attempting
to
complete
one
side
at
a
time.
____40____
Today
sand
art
and
sculpting
have
a
professional
touch,
with
new
sculptors
creating
some
of
the
most
imaginative
forms
of
sand
sculptures.
A.
The
limit
to
your
creativity
is
endless.
B.
Use
the
frame
to
begin
your
construction.
C.
Castles
are
more
popular
than
cars
among
children.
D.
People
have
created
masterpieces
through
sand
sculpting.
E.
Ensure
you
have
packed
a
long-handled
shovel
and
a
bucket.
F.
Sand
art
and
sculpting
have
become
very
popular
in
recent
times.
G.
It
is
this
wet
sand
that
will
give
a
firm
foundation
to
your
sculpture.

One
rainy
day,
Lily,
a
sad
little
girl,
was
looking
out
of
the
window.
Her
mother
was
doing
her
usual
housework.
She
had
been
busy
preparing
dinner
and
washing
clothes.
Her
daughter,
not
old
enough
to
go
to
school,
had
wanted
to
play
outside,
but
it
was
raining.
The
mother
told
her
little
girl
to
get
some
paper
and
a
pencil
to
draw
pictures.
She
hadn’t
noticed
her
daughter
was
very
sad.
Lily
was
the
only
child
in
the
family
and
had
no
brothers
or
sisters
to
play
with.
She
sat
on
the
sofa
with
her
pencil
and
paper,
looked
out
of
the
window
and
began
to
draw
a
picture.
She
drew
the
window
with
rain
streaming
down
the
glass.
Then
she
drew
a
little
girl
in
front
of
the
window
with
ribbons
in
her
hair.
The
mother
passed
by
as
she
was
going
to
put
the
clothes
into
the
dryer.
She
told
her
daughter
that
her
drawing
was
pretty.
Lily
said
thank
you,
but
she
still
wanted
to
go
out
to
play.
Her
mother
said,
“We
have
discussed
that
already.
You
can’t.
It’s
raining.”
Lily
continued
to
draw
the
picture,
while
her
mother
went
back
to
the
kitchen
to
check
on
dinner.
The
mother
could
see
her
daughter’s
drawing
across
the
glass
door
that
divided
the
two
rooms.
In
the
drawing,
a
little
girl
had
big
tears
rolling
down
her
cheeks.
The
mother
thought
about
the
events
of
the
day
in
her
mind.
Several
times
that
day,
Lily
had
asked
her
mother
for
permission
to
go
out
and
play.
The
rain
had
prevented
her
from
going
out.
She
had
asked
her
mother
to
play
and
watch
cartoons
with
her.
Each
time,
her
mother
was
too
busy
with
things
she
had
to
do.
The
mother
felt
guilty,
and
realized
the
little
girl
in
the
drawing
was
her
daughter’s
self-portrait.
So
she
walked
into
the
living
room.
