一、单元总目标
本单元以九年级英语第八单元“I will help to clean up the city park”为主题,要求学生在实际生活中能给他人提供帮助,学生学会在实际生活中能使用英语。同时,学生可以了解他国异乡的文化、人土风情、自然环境等情况,以扩充学生的知识面。本单元通过听、说、读、写的全面训练能力,进一步提高学生听、说、读、写的综合素质能力。

一、单元总目标General objective
本单元以八年级英语第七单元“I will help to clean up the city park”为主题,要求学生学会在实际生活中使用相应英语,并能时刻给他人提供帮助。同时,学生可以了解英语国家文化,以扩充学生的知识面。本单元通过听、说、读、写的全面训练能力,进一步提高学生听、说、读、写的综合素质能力。
The theme of this unit is “I will help to clean up the city park”. The students are supposed to acquire the abilities to offer help to others and make use of English in daily life. During the study, they can enlarge their knowledge by learning culture in English-speaking countries. Abilities on listening, speaking, reading and writing will be raised by corresponding practice.

下面我按照教学过程简单阐述一下自己的教学设计。按照我校英语教学活动模式,我的教学设计分为课前、课中、课后三大模块。
My teaching design is as following the “activity-teaching mode” in our school’s English class. And it was divided into 3parts: before class, in class, and after class.
I. Before Class: read new words and talk about “volunteer work”
目的:让学生熟悉本节课所用单词,并用图片以直观教学法引入volunteer work的教学,为新课的教学作好铺垫,营造轻松的教学环境。
Let Ss know about the new words in this lesson. Lead in “volunteer work” with pictures. Get ready for the new lesson and create an easy condition for teaching.
操作:学生齐声朗读单词后,教师领读。根据图片提出问题,Who are they 使学生初步认知话题” volunteer work”,并通过问题Do you think it’s great 引出要阅读的文章的题目-- Being a volunteer is great!
Ss read words aloud and then follow me to read again. Ss watch some pictures and answer my question: Who are they And answer together: Do you think it’s great Then lead into the title of passage-- Being a volunteer is great!
II. In Class
Activity 1. Ear Game 听信息,对人名。
目的:用听力导入,让学生听到文章关键词及信息,先对文章梗概和结构大致了解。并训练学生从听力材料里提取重要信息的能力。这也是一种新的尝试。
Purpose:
By leading in with listening, the students could get the key words and information, which helps them know the main structure of the text. Their abilities of getting important messages from materials are also well trained. This new attempt is supposed to be effective.
操作:展示图片和三个学生的姓名,录音经过剪切,将重要信息放给学生,让学生将图片人物与人名对应。教师通过总结引出volunteer sth. to do sth.这一语言点,讲解巩固。
Operations:
Show the pictures and the names, and then play the edited audio. Students are required to match the picture and the names. By concluding, the teacher introduce the language point: “volunteer sb. to do sth”.
Activity 2. Let’s Enjoy Reading! 享受阅读 理解归纳
Step1. Answer 3 questions after reading aloud.大声朗读后回答屏幕上的四个问题。
目的:大声朗读,避免学生因默读走神。带着问题进行朗读后回答,培养学生的抓取重点信息的阅读能力。
Purpose:
Compared with silent reading, loud reading avoids mind-absence. Their catching information abilities could be improved by reading after learning questions.
操作:让学生先读问题,明确任务。学生大声朗读后抢答问题并小组得分。明确问题答案,学生齐读。请学生讲解标红部分,如有困难,教师解惑。
Step 2.再读一遍,提疑解惑,突破重难。
重点讲解not only …but also…先让学生翻译,理解意思后,翻译两个结构相似的句子巩固。
Operations:
First, students are required to read by themselves for once, understand the text as a whole and find difficult points.
Second, the teacher will show the questions, the students read the questions and make them clear. After the second reading, the students vie to offer answers and will win points to their group with correct ones.
Third, students could raise their confusions and the teacher will answer and explain them. The phrase: “puts this love to good use by doing” should be emphasized. Translate two similar sentences after making it clear.
1) not only放在句首时,后接句子时要用倒装结构:do I feel…
2) not only …but also…两部分结构要一致。
先板书讲解,然后翻译句子。最后学生做学案练习并校正答案。
Step 3. 再次朗读,梳理信息,填写表格
目的:再次朗读,巩固印象。锻炼学生总结归纳信息的能力。并总结升华,回扣题目。
Purpose:
Reading for another time serves for consolidation. Improve students’ information concluding abilities. Sublimate emotions and stick to the title.
操作:展示表格,明确任务后学生再次大声朗读。然后留给学生5分钟时间,填写表格。教师点名学生完成表格。

The teacher will show the table (tabulation) firstly and deliver the aims to the students. Then the students will read aloud. The teacher call their names to
Activity 3. You are volunteers! 基础运用--角色扮演:你就是志愿者!
目的:使学生初步梳理文章信息及语言,并初步加以运用。
Purpose: The students will make use of the known information and language points.
操作:pair work的形式。用刚才填写的表格信息,学生与parter各任意模拟一人进行角色扮演,并向对方介绍自己。介绍的语言结构已给出。学生练习后,抢答展示并小组得分。
Operation: Pair work.
Each student act one role and introduce themselves to each other with the given sentence pattern. Marks will be given to groups according to their performances.
Activity 4. Volunteer Wanted 综合活动—面试采访:志愿者招募
目的:设计贴近学生生活的综合活动,使学生把学到的内容知识综合运用到生活场景中。两个活动一前一后,一个基础,一个综合,内容既相互关联又有所提升,为学生放低了台阶;形式上一个个人,一个团队,让各层次学生都得到锻炼。
Purpose:
These activities are very close to their life so it will bring the knowledge to the living scenes. At the same time, one focus on basic knowledge and the other integration, and this provides easy steps for the students. In forms, one is personnel and the other in group so all the students will get practiced.
操作:Group work的形式。展示海报,导入情境。教师先与两个学生一起做示范,明确活动要求。学生组内合作练习后,主动展示并小组得分。
Operation: Group work.
Lead in by showing poster. The teacher should make a model with two students so that all will be clear about their tasks. Practice in groups and show to the class. Marks will be given to each groups according to their performances.
Activity 5.Culture Express 文化提升 主题升华
目的:拓展话题文化,强化语言背景知识。让学生了解已经较成熟的西方义工体制,突出帮助他人这一情感主题。
Purpose:
Expand the culture topic and strengthen the background knowledge. The students will know the western volunteers system.
操作:给出一篇简单的拓展性文章,其中的一些语言点作为本节课的巩固出现。学生朗读并简述大意后,让学生谈谈自己对志愿者工作的感想,应该如何做,西方的做法有哪些值得我们学习等等。最后播放歌曲,情感升华。
Operation:
Show a simple added text with some corresponding language points in it. After reading the students will be required to deliver their feeling about the work of volunteer, how to be a volunteer and what can we learn from western volunteer culture. In the end, play the audio to sublimate the sentiments.
III. After class: Homework
1. 课后巩固:
A. 读熟3a文章,听写重点单词和短语
Read text 3A, master the words and expressions.
B. 背诵全文,整理课上活动对话
Recite the whole text, collect the dialogues on the class.
C. 按照自己的特长、意愿等,写一篇 Volunteer plan,说说自己在假期里想如何实践志愿者工作
Write a plan about volunteer according to own speciality and will, explain how to carry out the plan during the vacation.
