Around 50 Mars missions have been launched globally since 1960. Yet more than half of them have failed to reach the planet. So after China抯 Mars probe桾ianwen-1, was launched on July 23, Thursday last year, there was an anxious wait to learn its fate.
The news that the craft carrying exploration rover Zhurong landed safely on the surface of the planet on Saturday has therefore been met with both relief and celebration in the country.
That the landing was carried out exactly as planned has made China the latest member, after the United States and Russia, of the club of the world抯 pioneering Martin explorers, and shows the reliability of the relevant technologies that China has developed on its own. Though the first Mars mission of the country, it was a brave undertaking: to complete orbiting, landing and roving in one single mission.

However the country has made the most of what it had over the past more than six decades, making continuous efforts to go ahead in the aerospace(航天)cause. Thanks to the hard work and even sacrifices of generations of scientific workers, China has laid a solid foundation for the fast development of its aerospace industry, and has achieved one milestone after another in its space endeavors.
In the human space odyssey, China, with enthusiasm, diligence and willingness to cooperate, will help promote humankind to travel faster and farther.

So many things can keep you from seeing your loved ones in person. Fortunately, thanks to modern technology, the people we miss are often only a phone call or text message away. But according to science, if you want to feel more connected to the people you抮e talking to, you should call them instead of texting.
A new study, published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology, found that communication interactions that included voice created stronger social relationships than communication through typing.
In the study, researchers conducted various experiments. In the first one, they asked 200 people to make predictions about what it抎 be like to reconnect with an old friend by email or by phone and then assigned people at random to do one or the other. Although people expected that a phone call would be more awkward, hearing someone抯 voice actually made the experience better.
揚eople reported they did form a significantly stronger bond with their old friend on the phone compared with email, and they didn抰 feel more awkward, said study co-author Amit Kumar.
In another experiment, the researchers had strangers connect by either texting, talking over video chat, or talking using only audio. They found that both forms of voice communication made the strangers feel much more connected than when they communicated via text.
Sabrina Romanoff, a Harvard psychologist, says people tend to text or email instead of calling because of convenience as they see it as a controlled form of communication where they can 搑espond to information exactly in the way they intend without unexpected additions by the other person. However, in fact, texting can make it hard to determine the true meaning behind a conversation. 揂 phone call is actually more convenient when considering the real effects of the message, she explains. 揈ach party is more present, and therefore, able to understand the meaning behind the content without thinking over the endless possible meanings behind words.

A. An email. B. A video chat.
C. A text message. D. A letter.
13. What did the participants in the first experiment do?
A. They made predictions on the others intentions.
B. They made random phone calls to some strangers.
C. They imagined the joy of hearing someone抯 voice.
D. They predicted a phone call would be embarrassing.
14. Why does Sabrina Romanoff consider making phone calls convenient?
A. It can improve your communication skills.
B. It proves a controlled form of communication.
C. It can make it easier to understand each other.
D. It avoids unexpected additions in conversations.
15. What can be a suitable title for the text?
A. You Should Call Instead of Texting B. Technology Builds More Connections
C. Communicate With Your Old Friends D. Voice Communication Is Time-saving

Plan ahead and make a list
Most dietitians will tell you not to go to the grocery store while you抮e hungry. But you also shouldn抰 go without a list.

Once you start writing things down, especially the foods that you抮e rebuying constantly ... you can kind of see where your money is going to be at the supermarket. So a list doesn抰 just help you plan. _____20_____
A. Plus, you抣l unavoidably forget things you do need.
B. Look for canned or frozen foods because they are much cheaper.

It was the summer when I turned 18. I was filled with excitement because of my new freedom of driving. I drove carefully with my new license. Along with this new privilege came new responsibilities. I would perform the same routine call my parents and tell them where I was going, who I was with, and when I would be home. It became a typical cycle.
I had been working all day in the hot sun. I was exhausted and ready for a nap. But my stomach told me something different. So I called my friend Mike and made our way into town. After our meal, we had no idea that our day would soon change for the worse.
It takes one moment to shift your life upside down. I vividly remember I was driving fast. Too fast. I came to the conclusion two years later, that the mistake would be with me for the rest of my life.
Mike and I were driving down a dusty gravel(沙砾) road. I was driving a shiny black Saturn, which was the car I admired for long. I was very proud to be driving it. It was perfect in my eyes. I could see the rolling hills in the distance. Tall pine trees traveled on both sides of the road. With the music playing, we were enjoying ourselves. Somehow, without realizing it, I sped up the car.
Coasting(滑行) freely in my car, we came across a loose spot of gravel. My tyres were stuck in it and desperate to escape. My car started fishtailing. In panic, I pressed hard on the brakes(刹车) and instantly the car lost control. I got into panic, frozen with terror. Looking to the right, I took a glimpse of Mike. His body had leaned toward me. He was trying to prepare himself for the coming crash. The car was rushing left to right, coasting along the gravel like it was ice. Moments later, the front of my car crashed head-on into a tree.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
I heard a loud sound of my car hitting the tree.

Luckily enough, Mike and I were not so seriously hurt.

Some people are self-conscious about not being able to afford fancy brands of healthy food. It’s fine if you can afford it. But there’s no shame in knowing your budget and living within your means. _____16_____ After all, healthy eating exists at every price point. It doesn’t mean that you’re not healthy.
Be aware of buzzwords( 时髦术语) on the package
_____17_____ These descriptions may be useful to some customers with special needs. But they抮e also marketing terms that can paint an inaccurate picture that some foods are much healthier than others. Organic is fine if that抯 what you want to buy, but for someone who is budget-conscious, that抯 not necessary.
If you shop based on labels alone, it抯 easier to end up paying more but not necessarily eating any healthier. _____18_____ Instead, figure out what nutrients you need and look for them inside the package.
Plan ahead and make a list
Most dietitians will tell you not to go to the grocery store while you抮e hungry. But you also shouldn抰 go without a list.
When you shop without a plan, it抯 really easy to buy more food than you need, or purchase ingredients you already have, leading to waste. _____19_____ Developing a routine to eat healthy and maintain a budget will be easier if you come to the store with an idea of what you抮e getting and generally how much it will cost.
C. You should have the courage to say goodbye to that embarrassment.
D. Therefore, don抰 be tricked by trendy words and phrases on the package.

Thank you for your listening.
【答案】AI and Life
Good morning everyone! It’s my great honor to deliver a speech on AI and Life here. As we all know, the time of artificial intelligence is coming. It has both advantages and disadvantages for our lives.
On the one hand, robots created by artificial intelligence can replace humans to do a lot of work with a low probability of making mistakes, and can greatly improve work efficiency. It makes human life better and better. On the other hand, if one day robots created by artificial intelligence can think independently and make accurate judgments, it will be a devastating disaster for humans. Even humans will be wiped out by them. The earth will be ruled by artificial intelligence.
I believe that the science of artificial intelligence is waiting for humanity to explore it step by step. But the premise is that artificial intelligence must not cause harm to humans, so humans must use artificial intelligence reasonably, effectively and safely.
Thank you for your listening.

注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;

Luckily enough, Mike and I were not so seriously hurt.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】I heard a loud sound of my car hitting the tree. The white airbag hit Mike violently. His body flew back in the seat like a rag doll. My body was thrown forward, meeting the seat belt I was thankfully wearing. The window was broken, and the passenger door was destroyed. The feeling of guilt oyerwhelmed me. It was all my fault. I put Mike抯 life in danger. I wish I could go back and avoid putting my friend抯 life at risk.
Luckily enough, Mike and I were not so seriously hurt. It made me feel more relaxed that people who witnessed the accident ran to us and sent us to the hospital immediately. We both recovered soon, but my heart was heavy for a long time after the incident, from which I learned to cherish the life. From then on, I drove carefully and obeyed the traffic rules. After all, nothing is more precious than life.
