1. population 是不可数名词，“人口；人口数量”。
2. the population of “……的人口数量”，作主
语时，谓语动词用单数形式。
3. 同义短语 … has a population of …。
一、人口的表达
4. 表示人口“多”要用 large 或 great 来修饰；
表示人口“少”时要用 small 来修饰。
5. 分数或百分数修饰 population 作主语时，谓语动词常用复数形式。
6. 询问某地有多少人，用 What’s the population of …? /How large is the population of …?
不能用how many，how much提问。

二、1000以上的基数词的表示法
先从右至左数，每三位数加一个逗点（以 此把数目分为若干段）。
第一个逗点前的数为 thousand（千）；
第二个逗点前的数为 million（百万）；
第三个逗点前的数为 billion（十亿）。

1. 英语没有“万”这个单位，要表示“万”须
借用 thousand，如“一万”用“十个千
（ten thousand）”
表示，“十万”用“百个千（one hundred
thousand）”表示。
2. 在hundred后通常加上连词and。若读数中没有
hundred，则在thousand后加and。
as + 形容词或副词的原级+ as “和……相同； 与……一样”，用于同级之间的比较。
not as / so + 形容词或副词的原级 + as
“和……不一样；不如”。

宾语从句表示的内容是客观事实、真理或自然现象等，从句要用一般现在时。
