Step 1 Lead-in
T: Boys and girls, I will have a picnic with my family this weekend. Do you want to have a picnic with your family?
S: Yes, we do.
T: Very good.This class let抯 talk about a family picnic.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Present new words of this lesson by showing some pictures. (I will say Chinese meaning of each word and make students
translate them) When the students come across some difficult words,I will give them some hints.

2. Listen to the tape and write true or false.(Before listening to the text,I will let the students have a quick look at the questions)
1) Bob is carrying a small basket of fruit. ( )

3. Listen and read the text.
Make the students listen to the text again and read after the tape loudly.Then read it by themselves.
4.Group work.
I show the key phrases in Chinese on PPT,then divide the class into four groups to find them out.Few minutes later,I will ask one student of every group to answer the questions.
4. Present continuous tense.
I ask the students :What all members of the family are doing, and let them answer the questions,and write some sentences on the blackboard.
What is Jenny doing?
Jenny is putting the food and drinks on a tablecloth.
What is Jenny’s mum doing? She is making salad.
At last,I conclude the structure of present continuous tense: Be+V-ing
