在句子中作条件状语的从句被称为条件状语从句。If引导一个条件状语从句当主句是一般将来时时,
if引导的从句必须用现在时来,表示将来可能发生的动作或存在的状态。
用法
if条件句的主句和从句的时态搭配一般有下面几种情况:
1.主句是______________,if从句用____________。

如果跑的话,他就会及时赶到那儿。

2.主句是含有may/might/can/must/should等情态动词的句子,if从句用一般现在时。

3.主句是祈使句,if从句用一般现在时。

if还可以译为“是否”,用来引导宾语从句。此时if和whether是同义词,可以互换。如果or
not放在whether所引导的从句句尾,则可以用if来替换。但当or
not紧跟在whether之后时,只能用whether。
