I. Lesson types: Listening and Speaking (Project)
II. Teaching objectives:
1. Language knowledge:
Students are able to review some words and phrases about traveling (prefer, advantage, disadvantage, fare, destination, route, presuade, etc.).
2. Language skills:
1) Students are able to get the details from listening material by highlighting key words.
2) Students are able to talk with each other about their experiences and opinions about travelling, using what they have already learned and their background information.

1. Students might have difficulties in catching some detailed information in the listening material (because the speaking speed is a little fast to them or because of tension).
IV. Teaching steps, time allocation Activities Justifications
Step 1 (7) Lead-in (listening) Greeting
Listen to an audio on wechat about Amy抯 visit in Beijing on Summer Vacation and ask students to retell the main idea of the audio.
Listen again and fill in a form about transportation, route and the characteristics.
Step 2 (3+5) Task 1: choosing transportation Listen to Amy抯 second recording about her wish to visit Guangzhou next weekend.
Ask students to name some means of transportation in Guangzhou and clarify the advantages and disadvantages.
Step 3 (10) Task 2: designing travel plan Divide students in groups of six and ask them to design a travel plan for Amy.
Show a travel plan as a model and remind students of elements in designing a travel plan.
Step 4 (12) Oral Report Invite three groups to present their travel plans.
Ask other students to vote for the best and state the reasons.
Step 5 (3) Summary and Homework Have a brief summary of elements in travel plans and what should be considered when designing a travel.

Amy: Hello, Wilson. I went to Beijing to enjoy my Summer Vacation with my parents. Since they prefer to visit places of interest, we went to Tian抋nmen Square by bus to watch the flag-raising ceremony. After that, we walked to visit the Forbidden City. After lunch, we took a metro to the Summer Palace. The route was so long that it cost us more than one hour. Because of the rainy weather, we came back to our hotel at four o抍lock and enjoyed our dinner near it.
