Step 2. Lead-in
Play a guessing game using some pictures on PowerPoint presentation.
Show students the pictures of some famous people like Michael Jackson; Xiena; Jackie Chen, etc. Have students guess the names of those people by using following sentences:
T: What’s his/her name?
S: His/Her name is ....
T: You are right!/ No, he/ she isn’t. His/Her name is...
Step 3. Vocabulary and Key Sentences
. Have students write English words for the things in the picture of 1a.
2). Teacher leads students to learn new words with pictures, and learn key sentences with dialogues on PowerPoint. Leads students to read and then let them read the new words and key sentences by themselves.

Play the tape of 1b. Students listen and number the conversation.
Listen again and practice the conversation in 1b with partner.

Play the tape of 2a. Students listen to the conversation and number the pictures.
