本单元主要介绍中国和世界上四个主要讲英语的国家的概况。本课以Maddy’s Family Photos为话题，复习前面所学，进一步介绍英语国家的文化，一方面拓宽了学生的视野，增长了学生的见识，更重要的是能增强学生对异国文化的了解，加深对本国文化的理解，能提高学生的跨文化交际能力。
学情分析
本课学习者是五年级的学生，活泼好动，想象力丰富，对新鲜事物充满了好奇心，表现欲望很强。经过两年的英语学习，学生们在听说读写方面有了一定的基础，并掌握了一定的学习技巧。他们在这两单元的新授课中已经学过有关家庭成员的词汇和有关英语国家的一些常识性语言，能使用所学语言就有关国家这个话题进行简单的交流。?

教学策略与 设计说明
本课在教学中多种教学策略。先通过游戏教学层层推进从复习国家到名胜古迹等帮助学生复习本单元主要内容并为本课学习做好准备。游戏及教学过程中的奖励机制是学生们在课堂教学中很好的配合，让学生真正融入课堂。

2. Listen to the tape to know what the story tells about. Then read in groups. The third time read the text together.
3.Fill in the blanks to review the story. And the students prepare for telling the story .

教学反思 本节课通过歌曲和游戏导入，成功的吸引了学生的注意并复习本单元关于中国和几个说英语的国家的内容，引出本课重点内容句型 。学生通过练习掌握良好，由于主要是对之前所学内容的整合，学生接受起来比较容易。整节课的小组竞争使学生们积极配合、兴趣盎然，达到了较好的效果。最后的环节要求用英语介绍Maddy一家，培养学生口语能力的同时，对写作有了进一步的提高。本节课整体效果良好。
