二、阅读理解
World’s
History
in
One
Place
Is
it
possible
to
put
millions
of
years
of
the
world’s
history
into
one
building?
The
British
Museum
seems
to
think
so.
“A
History
of
the
World
in
100
Objects”,
an
exhibition
about
rare
and
ancient
objects
from
the
world,
has
made
it
a
success.
The
British
Museum
says
it
owns
at
least
8
million
historical
objects.
But
why
choose
these
100
objects
to
tell
stories
of
our
world’s
history?
It
all
started
with
a
challenge(挑战).
Neil
MacGregor,
who
was
once
director
of
the
British
Museum,
was
asked
by
the
BBC
to
choose
100
objects
from
the
museum’s
huge
collection.
The
objects
had
to
include
things
from
the
beginning
of
human
history
about
2
million
years
ago
to
the
present
day.
MacGregor
accepted,
and
took
four
years
to
choose
each
object
himself.
In
2010,
MacGregor
appeared
on
BBC
radio,
giving
a
detailed(详细的)
explanation
of
each
object.
The
show
was
a
big
hit
and
all
these
100
objects
were
shown
in
the
British
Museum.
A
book
with
photos
of
each
object
soon
followed.
“The
objects
had
to
cover
the
whole
world,
from
a
cooking
pot
to
a
golden
galleon,
from
a
Stone
Age
tool
to
a
credit
card,”
MacGregor
wrote.
The
collection
includes
many
important
objects
from
China.
There
is
a
banknote
from
the
Ming
Dynasty,
showing
China
as
the
first
country
to
use
paper
money.
But
it’s
not
just
ancient
things
that
are
shown.
Among
them
are
some
modern
things
like
a
solar-powered
lamp
and
even
a
throne
made
of
weapons
created
by
an
African
artist.
“Of
course,
the
collection
could
only
be
‘a’
history
of
the
world.
But
it
is
still
a
history
that
people
in
the
present
world
need
to
know,”
MacGregor
wrote.

一、完形填空
Mr
Jackson
was
our
science
teacher.
On
the
first
day
of
class,
he
gave
us
a
talk
about
an
animal
called
wampus.
He
told
us
that
the
wampus
lived
on
the
earth
millions
of
years
ago
during
the
Ice
Age
and
died
out
because
of
the
change
of
the
climate(气候).
We
all
listened
carefully
and
took
1
of
everything
he
said.
Later
we
had
a
2
.
When
the
exam
paper
was
3
to
me,
I
was
surprised
and
sad.
There
was
a
big
red
“×”
through
each
of
my
answers.
I
failed.
But
how
come?
4
,
on
the
test
paper,
I
had
written
down
5
Mr
Jackson
said
in
class.
Then
I
found
that
no
one
6
the
exam
at
all.
What
had
happened?
“Very
simple,”
Mr
Jackson
explained.
“I
had
made
up(编造)
all
that
story
about
the
wampus.
There
had
never
been
any
such
animal,
so
the
information
in
your
notes
was
not
correct.
Do
you
expect
to
get
7
marks
for
incorrect
answers?”
There
was
no
need
to
say
we
were
8
.
What
kind
of
test
was
this?
What
kind
of
teacher
was
he?
How
could
we
believe
he
gave
us
so
much
information
about
an
animal
that
had
not
been
there
at
all?
How
was
it
possible
9
us
students
to

what
the
teacher
taught
us?
“The
zeros
on
your
papers
will
be
10
in
your
grade
books,”
he
said.
And
he
did
it.
Through
this

Mr
Jackson
hoped
that
we

learn
something.

In
fact,

one
is.

二、阅读理解
There
are
different
kinds
of
museums
in
the
world.
A
new
museum,
I
think,
may
turn
you
off
your
dinner.
It
is
the
Disgusting(令人作呕的)
Food
Museum.
It
opened
in
October
2018
in
Malmo,
Sweden.
The
ticket
for
adults
is
about
$19
and
for
children
and
the
aged
it’s
about
$15.
The
museum
collects
80
kinds
of
the
world’s
“most
disgusting
foods”,
like
sheep
eyeball
juice,
stinky
tofu,
cooked
guinea
pigs
and
Jell-O
salad.
You
might
remember
the
museum’s
founder,
Dr
Samuel
West,
who
set
up
the
Museum
of
Failure,
which
is
also
located
in
Sweden.
“When
I
opened
the
Museum
of
Failure,
I
was
amazed
at
the
influence(影响)
it
had.
If
a
simple
fun
exhibit
could
change
people’s
ideas
about
failure,
what
other
assumptions(设想)
could
an
exhibit
change?”
Dr
West
once
said.
He
told
the
reporter
why
he
opened
the
Disgusting
Food
Museum.
He
said
he
was
studying
the
influence
of
meat
on
the
environment.
This
made
him
think
about
other
sources
of
protein(蛋白质),
like
bugs(虫子).
“If
you
ask
people
to
eat
bugs,
they
may
say
‘that’s
disgusting’,
but
maybe
I
can
make
them
think
differently,”
said
Dr
West.
The
museum
changes
people’s
ideas
about
food
that
looks
disgusting.
It
might
also
make
them
think
about
other
food
sources.
When
it
comes
to
“disgusting”
food,
some
people
may
think
it
is
disgusting.
However,
people
in
other
parts
of
the
world
may
think
the
food
is
totally
normal.
That’s
because
the
food
is
their
usual
diet
and
they
often
eat
it.
“We
could
eat
any
food,
but
our
culture
tells
us
what
is
delicious
and
what
is
not.
I
hope
the
opening
of
the
museum
can
make
people
know
and
try
to
accept
the
disgusting
food
from
all
over
the
world,”
Dr
West
said.
“You
can
see,
touch,
smell
and
taste
it
in
our
museum.
One
of
my
worries
is
that
it
will
smell
bad
here.”

)1.
The
writer
makes
us
know
what’s
in
the
museum
by__________
.
A.
telling
stories
B.
giving
examples
C.
drawing
pictures
D.
answering
questions

)2.
Why
did
Dr
West
open
the
museum?
A.
Because
he
wanted
to
become
famous.
B.
Because
he
wanted
us
to
stop
eating
meat.
C.
Because
he
wanted
us
to
know
some-thing
different
about
bugs.
D.
Because
he
wanted
us
to
think
about
food
from
a
different
point.

)3.
What
do
we
know
about
the
museum
from
the
passage?
A.
There
are
18
kinds
of
foods
in
it.
B.
Dr
West
opened
it
at
the
beginning
of
2018.
C.
Visitors
to
the
museum
can
taste
the
food
in
it.
D.
People
from
all
over
the
world
enjoy
the
food
in
it.

)4.
What’s
the
purpose
of
the
passage?
A.
To
ask
us
to
go
travelling.
B.
To
tell
us
about
a
museum.
C.
To
tell
us
to
visit
museums
often.
D.
To
make
us
try
all
kinds
of
foods.
三、词汇运用
根据短文内容和所给汉语提示,写出空白处各单词的正确形式(每空一词)。
If
you
compare
the
museums
of
the
past
with
those
of
today,
you
will
find
that
today’s
museums
are
active
centres
of
learning.
People
can
learn
about
1__________(通信)
and
the
environment
as
well
as
physics
and
2__________(化学).
So
the
museums
are
interesting
for
people
of
all
ages.
No
wonder
there
are
lots
of
people
visiting
museums
every
day.
Of
course
there
are
some
3__________(规则)
for
you
when
you
visit
a
museum.
●You
can
talk,
but
be
polite
to
those
around
you.
It
may
seem
that
you
should
be
quiet
in
a
museum,
but
most
curators(馆长)
would
love
it
if
more
people
talk
with
each
other
about
their
4__________(展览).
●Ask
before
taking

bring
food
or
drinks
into
the
museum.
It’s
no

eating
or
drinking
there.
●Do
not
keep
children
alone.
9__________(进入权)
into
some
museums
are
not
allowed
for
children.
But
if
children
are
allowed
to
enter,
remember
that
a
museum
is
not
a
playground.
Children
should
not
run
or
shout
in
it.
Parents
should
be
with
children
unless
they
are

10__________(实验)
